I've just starting experiencing a tremendous slow-down in the viewport (Nitrous, Quadro 4000) . . . and discovered that the trajectory being displayed in the object properties is causing it. When I turn it off, everything runs as expected.
* i have a cube with "Noise Rotation controller" assigned. * On the other hand, i make a strip that comes flying in a straight line (a rectangle whit "path deform modifier" OSM). * when both meets, the strip moves around the cube following it, and then keep his trajectory in a straight line.
I resolved attach the path to the cube, and works pretty well in the middle section of the trajectory , but at the start the path keep rotating whit the cube, and mess it up.
in others words, i need to attach temporarily, only when the strips fly around teh cube.
I have installed Corel VideoStudio Pro X4 (32bit version) on my Win7 64Bit laptop. But when I easy playback, preview, 2 tracks with a Crossfade the preview slowdown. I remeber X3 on the same laptop works fine.

I am running a Q6600 quad core with 4gb ram, Windows XP Pro 32bit. Video card is Nvidia 8600GT 512mb with latest driver 1.8250 & have latest update of CS4 11.0.1.CS4 works fine for me for 40 - 60 mins or so & then starts to slow down. It gets to the stage where any selection tool is unusable. As ann extreme example, today I had been working on an image, then went to do something else for an hour or so, but left cs4 running with the image open, came back & 1 click of the quick selection tool resulted in a progress bar that took around 30 seconds to complete. If I shutdown cs4 & restart its fine again for a while. So it seems like some sort of memory leak.I have noted also that the enable Open GL option is greyed out. I tried resetting CS4 preferrences, but still greyed out. I had previously tried the DisallowOpenGL Windows_on patch from adobe, but found it made no difference so ran the DisallowOpenGLWindows_Off patch.I cant honestly remember if the openGL option was always greyed out or notI know there are lots of CS4 slow threads around, but I hadnt come across a thread on my version of the problem, where cs4 works ok for a while & then slows down.
For some unknown reason i get a slowdown when using RGB color mode, brushes, even 1px sized brushes trail behind the cursor and makes it rather slow and rather problematic to draw and paint. When i change to any of the other modes, greyscale, cmyk, etc; this slowdown doesn't occur at all which results in no slowdown.
Yesterday, painting with 1000px brushes in rgb mode didn't even give a noticeable slowdown which is very weird. So the issue has to have happend today.
After eagarly installing the CS4 extended trial (on vista x64...) (and yes I should have seen it coming, as it does with every new release...) I was extremely dissapointed to find that, well, it doesn't really work.
It loads fine, images load, but as soon as I try and use a tool, zoom, scroll, paint, etc... I get a huge lag/slowdown. For example, rotating the canvas becomes slow and horribly jumpy, brushes lag a few seconds behind my cursor....
I have so far only heard from one other user who is experiencing a similar problem and I cannot understand it. My PC is surely up to standard (see sig links for details) and the only thing I can think of is that vista 64 is working its usual magic. My drivers are up to date and I've played around with the RAM and open GL settings in both ati catalyst and CS4 but have got nowhere.
I've been experiencing some slowdown on my PC when exporting files from LR4. No matter the size, or if it's .jpg or .TIFF... it always gives me some frezzes (mouse etc)

I am using Gimp for years now, and few days ago I have updated to latest 2.8 version. However, since the update (more like clean installation than update) to 2.8 I am experiencing extreme slowdown while moving image around with middle mouse button (wheel) or with the button on my tablet's pen. The image gets thorn apart a Gimp freezes for about 10-15 seconds. The thing is, this only happens with 2.8 version (never happened with 2.6) and only while I am using middle mouse button (wheel), or the button on my tablet's pen, for moving around. If I use "Navigate" cross at bottom right, I can move the picture without any tearing and slowdown/freeze.
I am using Lightroom (x64) to manage and sort my files and my typical workflow has me editing in Photoshop (CS4 x64) from out of lightroom. I noticed at first that when I tried the new healing brush that it was a lot slower than the CS3 version of the brush. One day I was editing out of Bridge and noticed a significant speed boost while using the brush, it was working like the previous version of the brush.
I pointed the finger at Lightroom, so I opened it and tried editing out of LR again. Same slow down. The only thing I can think of is that they are both using openGL and there might a conflict somewhere?
LR works fine by itself and PS also work great while LR is closed. And PS works fine as long as it isn't using any of the new openGL (assumption) features, like the healing brush. If anyone else has been experiencing this and has found a solution I am all ears. My system is a Q6600, 8gb ram, ati Radeon 3850, all drivers are up to date.
I am trying to add text to a background for a poster with a photo. I can add type to the photo but when I type in the white background I only see a line that expands with each letter as I type but no text is visible. However in the layer panel the text is visible.
I have CS2 and my PS skills are pretty basic. I was trying to follow a DVD tutorial last night from the 'digital photo' UK photography magazine and at one point needed to have two windows displayed - one a new blank canvas and the other with the the photo that was being manipulated. However when I followed the instructions as shown on the DVD, my new blank canvas opened ontop.
The picture I've attached to this post is 180 dpi. However, Gimp says the ppi of the image is 300 (Gimp also used this information display the printed size, so it should be "dpi", but this is not my problem).
I fully understand the difference between dpi and ppi.My question is: From where is this information coming from?
My default image resolution in Gimp is 96 ppi (under Preferences > Default image > Advanced option).
I have just installed Photoshop CS6 Extended from adobe.com as the trial, but after installing it I don't see the 3D menu at the top. I have tried reinstalling several times but still no 3D menu. I have a ASUS GTX550Ti graphics card with 1gb of ram so I thought this would be sufficient. Also running windows 7 64bit.
I finished my work on an image but when I save it and view it in windows photo viewer the image is much much sharper than inside photoshop( at 100%). (using CS6 on windows 7)
When I open adobe photoshop I get the attached error. Either I'm able to work or close it.
I tried repairing it didn't work. After repairing all the adobe family products gave me the same problem I tried uninstall and the reinstall same problem with all the adobe family products.
Is it possible to see in Videostudio X6 the screen size like it would be displayed on tv? In X6 for example edited a video and saved it in Divx (6)- 704 * 398 its 1.7.
In VIdeostudio it is displayed full screen no black borders but on the tv there are borders top and bottom. Some have borders left and ride. Normally my tv fits every video to full screen so no black borders are displayed only when the movie has a 2:35 format.
When i set the video properties for the project in X6 in non square pixels then 2 black borders are displayed in the preview screen but they are on that video left and right not top and bottom.
I would like to know to avoid the black borders and display full screen on tv but if that is not possible with the formats of the video then displayed in Videostudio as it would on my widescreen tv.
I have learned that if i do a math on the video size like: 704 / 398 = 1.7 then i can see that the video is full screen on the tv .
When the outcomr of the math is 1.3 or 1.4 then it is a 4:3 video so not displaying full screen i thought to learn.
I've been running both AutoCAD 2009 and 2010 for the last year almost - and I had noticed that the linetypes (specifically HIDDEN) are displayed differently in each version. The linetypes are not symmetrical in 2010.
I'm sculpting a portrait work and after generating the displacement map, the map itself automatically is displayed in the model. This is actually the second time I'm experienced this.
How can I disable this auto function without having to turn off the layer in the layer tab each and everytime mudbox generates the displacement map.
somehow i have changed how the ribbon buttons are displayed. instead of being expanded and showing all the commands on the button, it only shows the button tittle. one of then shows "DRAW" . when i click on it, it shows all the sub commands. how do i get it to expand and show all the subcommands without clicking on it. it was showing them before, however, i changed a setting and cannot find it.
I have some not displayed viewports in my drawing. I can select only the viewport while using filter command in autocad dwg. Also i couldn't able to see those viewport normally while command inactive. Actually i want to delete those viewport which is only one per layout. that one drawing having 100 layout.
Using CS6 just installed on a Dell running Windows 7. I have placed a few EPS graphics and find that some of the image is not visible. I noted this a few weeks back on prior use on a different computer running a version of MacOS. A third at that time did display these image files completely. I believe that was CS4 but will check on Monday. I will test with other EPS files from other programs.
I can create an Event in Photoshop Element's Organizer, but the Event does not show up in the Event tab. I can see a small tag on the video file that I put into the Event when I created it, but no such Event is listed in the Event tab.
This function used to work for me, but it suddently stopped.
How can I define my own set of metadata to be displayed in the metadata panel. I don't mean metadata sets to be applied to images. I mean the groups of metadata fields that will be displayed in the right hand panel.
LR came with some like QuickDescribe, Minimal, Default....
I was watching through footage and choose a handful of clips ... my video worked fine. Then Friday I came back to start putting everything together and the clips "went blank," The audio could be heard and played back in real time, but the video displays as a black screen or a green screen. I tried rendering, but it said it would take 2+ hours to render the 1 minute of clips I had in my timeline. Even the sections that did end up rendering just showed a blank red screen. Clips are .MTS (which I've used in every project previously with no problem) shot with a Panaconic HMC-150.
I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 on Windows 8, 64-bit operating system Processor: Intel Core i7 CPU - 920 @ 2.67 GHz 12.0 GB of RAM
The thing that gets me is that this has worked for months, even worked with these clips a few days ago, and now it seems like everything just vanished.
