View 2 RepliesI've been tethering to Capture One with a Phase Back then having Lightroom Autoimport the files which works well. The biggest problem I have is that when I want to check focus as I go along and I zoom in on the files in loupe view Lightroom is really slow at rendering up the image. It seems to get slower as the catalogue fills up until it just wont do it. Then if I quit Lightroom and restart its better for a while then slows down again.
Both applications are running on the same Macbook Pro with The latest OSX.
However looking through the files in Capture One they zoom up in size with hardly any delay. I understand that Lightroom has to render a larger preview which is taking the time but surely Capture One has to do this too but doesn't seem to need to take anywhere near as much time to do it. In the case of Capture One it seems to be able to zoom into files that it hasn't previously loaded so there must not be a pre existing preview there.
The loupe view on the second screen used to display information about the photo. I double clicked on it and it disappeared and no matter what I do I can't seem to get it back.
On the primary screen this can be added/removed or changed in Library Module by selecting the menu view->view options... which gets you to a settings window where you can set what shows. However, I cannot seem to find a similar thing for the second monitor.
I don't know what happened. Initially everything seems fine. Then when I use loupe view to see video, the view only shows the left top corner (about 60% of the length and height). And I can't change (zoom out) back to show the whole video.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have noticed this as an occasional random ongoing problem in Lightroom and just encountered it again in LR 5, running on Win 7 64 on a 30" 2560x1600 monitor. While the develop view renders properly, the louple view is very soft. Here is an example:
1:1 from Develop
1:1 from loupe
There is no indication that you need to wait for the final rendering and the image never gets sharper. Zooming in and out does not fix the rendering in loupe view. Resizing the lightroom window to a smaller size does not work. Rebuilding 1:1 previews does not work.
The only thing that works is to close and reopen Lightroom. It appears that some flag in the program instructing the loupe rerender sometimes does not get set.
This is a serious problem because a user could easily decide to delete an image based on the loupe view. This has forced me to preview all my images in PhotoMechanic. I simply cannot rely on Lightroom.
This is a difficult problem to reproduce as it seems to happen randomly. In a search and based on recollection, the zoom in and out seemed to fix.
I see the file number come up in upper left when in Loupe view. This is nice. Today I was projecting for clients and the file numbers did not come up for a while and I was getting flustered. Finally, they did start appearing. What is the rhyme or reason is this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI used to be able to double click on an image in Loupe view in Library mode and I would zoom into that image. I think that stopped when I got to LR5, I'm in 5.3 now. Now when I double click in Loupe view, I'm back out to grid view. Drop down menu suggests I just need to hit return, same thing happens. This happens at all zoom levels fit, fill, 1:1, etc. I'm running OSX 10.9.2. Sounds like a setting issue, but I've looked.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen i use lightroom on 2 monitors i look mostly at the loupe view on the second monitor to judge or cull my pictures. I can see the resultant stars, colors and reject flags on the grid view on the primary monitor. but i cant see the ratings on the loupe view. I sometimes get confused as to whether i actually rated or color coded a particular photo in a similar series, but i have to look back at the primary monitor to make sure. Am I missing something? Is there some way to have a large view of the picture but include rating info on the same screen?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I am capturing images in LR4 from a CF card or camera I want to enlarge individual photos in loupe view to check for focus, etc. I am talking about the time PRIOR TO IMPORT. Some of my images will enlarge with no problem but some images become completel pixilated when I try to Zoom in. This does not happen when I try to import from the hard drive. Is this normal. My render preview is set to Standard.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI keep getting a dialogue box that says "Revit was unable to render the view due to an unknown error during render calculations. The rendering operation will be canceled." The only option is to click "close" and when i do so, it continues to render but only the sky and grass. My buildings are not present.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using Lightroom 4.1. I have recently upgraded my graphics card and now Lightroom won't render any images! There does not appear to be a problem with either Bridge or Photoshop CS5.
View 4 Replies View RelatedFacts - MacPro with 16gb ram and latest OS X. When i import images 1:1 previews are generated. My preferences file says to never get rid of 1:1's and I have a 90gb cache file. Using 2 - 24" monitors.
Question:Grid view in one display and the other shows loupe view. When click on loupe view on second monitor to go to 1:1 it can take 15 seconds (D800 files) for the 1:1 loupe view to show. What is weird is that if I go to an image in grid (second monitor off) and go to the menus and build a 1:1 preview then when I open loupe on the second miniotr and go to 1:1 it is immediate with no waiting.
Added later Have instructed LR to build 1:1 previews on a group of files. After doing this the 1:1 loupe view is immediate. For those images that were not yet rendered took time to show 1:1 in loupe.
I rerally do not understand how this is happening since 1:1s were rendered at import. Evbidently the import 1:1s have been removed - but why?
I just want rendered TIF files. From Bridge I can open them in ACR and save as TIF but then I have the old rendering rather than the new rendering in LR4.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been having problems selecting images in the library module when multiple images are in view (not down in the timeline, but in the main window). It seems sporadic with which ones it won't let me select, it somehow manages to be the ones that I need to click....!! I just literally can't click it as if it were an image I already imported or something, but it's not grayed out like that. I've been having to select a nearby image then use my arrow keys to navigate to and click the image I need.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI would like to be able to see camera profile in Loupe Info. This would support me choose between versions of a photo that have different profiles applied.
I have not been able to find any indication that this is possible in LR 4. I am still using LR 3.6.
Beyond that, it would be nice to be able to select any information to see in Loupe Info and not be restricted to the fixed list of items currently available.
In Library, my icons for loupe and grid modes disappeared. How to get them back?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am trying to use Lightroom and whilst it imports images successfully, I cannot view them at all. I do not have the '?' so this isn't a problem but I don't know what else it can be. I am using 4.1 but currently downloading 4.2 (very painful, almost impossible in Indonesia), but I would imagine this shouldn't be an issue either.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently installed LR4 on a maching that is running LR2.7. I would like to be able to view the LR2 catalog or images in LR4, but not necessarily convert all the photos to LR4. I have been told that I should not do a wholesale conversion of the images to LR4. I am not sure how to view the LR2 images in LR4 without converting the catalog. Is there a way to accomplish this without a wholesale conversion?
View 6 Replies View Relatedis it possible to view images on memory card in LR without importing or before importing?
View 1 Replies View RelatedToday I was browsing through my images library and I noticed that some of the images are dimmed. By dimmed, I mean that they appear desaturated... as though LR4 is trying to tell me something about the image... but I don't know what.
If I click on the image I can edit it. It appears normal when it is the "current image" (bright colors again). But as soon as I make another image the "current image" the other image goes back to the dimmed look.
This is only true for some images.
I was able to re-order images in the grid view just by dragging them. Now I cannot move images.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've just installed LR 3.6 on my new Wins64 laptop and it is unable to view RAW files from my Canon 5D Mark1. This is working fine on my Win32 PC though. It looks like I need to install Camera Raw 5.2 or later but I can only file 'Update' downloads which fail to install. LH says it's up-to-date when I check for updates and theres no Plug-In Extras available..
View 1 Replies View RelatedHow do I see a tagged image from the camera (tagged using the lock button, to remind me of a image I want to find quickly) once imported into Lightroom? This is possible to do in Photomechanic, as I can see all of the tagged images from the camera once opened in Photomechanic. Yet so far I have not found a way to allow me to do this in Lightroom so far.

I have lost the grid view of my images on my Mac Book Pro. All I can get is the loupe view. I have lightroom 4.2. How can I get the grid view back?
View 4 Replies View Relatedhaving just purchased version 4.1 a few days ago. I've imported about 2,500 RAW image files into the program and am learning the ropes for developing and organizing them.
The problem I'm having is that much of the time I'm unable to select photos in the grid view. When I place the mouse pointer over a square in the grid containing a photo, I expect it to "light up" and display the icons for flagging/rotating/rating the photo. In practice, this doesn't happen most of the time and grid squares that won't "light up" cannot be selected. As I move the mouse around the grid, the occasional grid square will act as expected but most of the others will not. The behavior seems random -- a grid square that acts properly one moment may not respond the next time I mouse over it, and other grid squares that were unresponsive may now act as expected.
I've tried pausing over the image for an extended period of time in case this is a performance issue, but if a grid square doesn't light up when I first put the mouse pointer over it then leaving the pointer on it won't get it to respond. If I move the pointer elsewhere on the grid and then bring it back, the square may or may not react.
My setup:
4-core Mac Pro
5GB of memory
Mac OS 10.7.4
