I need to export a vector image to a .png for use on Retina display devices. What is the workflow and settings for exporting that results in the best possible quality .png image?
View 6 RepliesI'm working on my design for a project (book) and I want to export a typography into Photoshop to give it more effects, work with a textured background, etc. I was wondering if I export it as a PSD file I'll be able to keep the printing quality, since printing text from Photoshop comes out pixelated. Also, would I have to re-open it in Illustrator again after I'm done with Photoshop?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have made several renders in the Scanline renderer, I've tried to capture as much detail as I can squeak out of it, setting it to the Catmull-Rom filter, Light Tracer, Max Star 2.5, and the like. It creates nice renders for game assets. However, if I switch it to Mental Ray, it seems that a lot of the details get washed out. Are there any 'base setting' to capture every nook and cranny better?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am a little bit lost when reading discussions regarding the best way to have photos accepted by Istockphoto. They are extremely demanding about the quality of the pictures and they accept zero artifacts for example.
I read that any corrections made of a RAW picture in Lightroom 4 must be very minimal (almost no correction for saturation, vibrace, exposure, and sharpening, noise etc.).
In this case it would mean that Lightroom is of no use and whay not use directly Photoshop CS6 to convert the RAW photo into a high quality JPEG. If this is true, what are the best settings in CS6 to convert a RAW photo into a JPEG format ?
Every time I'm working in an Illustrator file with multiple layers and hundreds of objects on those layers that sometimes aren't grouped yet, I find it hard to select click on the objects in the layers panel on the right, selecting them via shift-click (you know, selecting all objects between the first and the last clicked object).
Is there a way I can select layer objects with the shift-option and afterwards have all of the items selected on the artboard? See the images for illustration.
I've created a resume in Photoshop CS5 for OS X - I know, I should've used InDesign but I'm more comfortable working in Photoshop.
The PSD is currently 2550x3300 px (8.5x11 in) at 300 dpi. I'd like to save the resume as a PDF flie so I can submit it online. I have no intentions of printing this particular document. Most websites will only accept a file size of under 1MB. What are the ideal settings for saving a PDF in the smallest file size without sacrificing on image quality? I should also note that I do not have Acrobat Pro.
Is there a way to control color print quality that matches the in-canvas look of a part or assembly.
As a quick example, I have a Kelly Green wire visible within an assembly. When I print the assembly within a .idw drawing file, the Kelly Green turns very dark.
Is it possible to specify a particular lighting setting to be used when printing? I'm expecting to see color print output that matches closely to what I see when viewing either a model or an assembly.
I'm using Inventor 2013.
I am exporting a file that contains a background photo with text over the top. When I export, the text is great....crisp and clean however my background image is becoming pixelated since I am making this a large print. Any tips to increasing resolution to photo files. I see there is a way to increase / bring in files at their actual size. So I may need to try that. Others?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've been using GIMP to make GIFs and they were okay until one day I realized the GIF quality was terribly reduced after I exported it. But everything seemed fine when I was in the process of making it (I never use any color transformation I normally just crop and resize image and that's it) when I used playback the GIF seemed okay but once after exported, the quality was very terrible. I couldn't understand why.
Every single GIF I make ever since faces the same problem. The animation playback and everything seem fine. Just I can never export the same quality GIF like what I see in the playback, every time it ends up with a low quality one. I re-install GIMP but that doesn't work at all. I download the latest version but that doesn't change anything either.
i have a problem when i try to export a jpg image.I must do a small image for a Exchange signature.When i exported the file in jpg with save for web and i insert it in exchange, the dimensions (width and height) are ok, but less quality.However if i save normaly in jpg the quality is the top but when i insert the image in exchange, the dimension are strange, there isn't width and height correct.The file is a 72 dpi.

The reason I'm asking is that my research on Photoshop indicated that JPG output quality settings above 75 were"theoretical." So what is the easiest way on getting the exported .mp4 file burned onto a blueray disc preserving the HD quality.
I can see that Adobe offers ENCORE in the creative suite, but that seems overkill as I just want to burn the file onto disc. A plug-in for LR5 would seem the best solution to me , but I have not found it.

What's the best EXPORT settings to get high quality for a .jpg website banner. I have played around with the settings and got no where. :-( I want the text to stay clear and sharp, and my dark colors actually dark. My setting so far give me faded colors and blurry edges on the text.

The problems I have with exporting is that if export a drawing as a *.wmf the thick lines come out too thick even when using the 0.3 mm thickness. If i use the 0.25 mm thickness the lines are as thin as with the default thickness.
The contour lines of an image I imported into my AutoCAD drawing are coming all blurry when I export into wmf file even when using the 600 dpi resolution (highest available on the menu).
Inside my AutoCAD drawing my image map has a very high quality but when I export it, with AutoCAD polylines on top of it, the drawing comes out horrible.
I painted a blue polyline to represent a river in a contour map. This is for a civil engineering project. When I export the drawing, the polyline comes out too thick and the image behind comes out blurry. This happens even when using the highest definition possible for a wmf export (600 dpi).
I've read in another thread about a way of exporting into tiff. I followed the directions but the thread is not well explained. It doesn't say whether it is necesary to have or buy certain software. And it doesn't say what to do next to export the tiff drawing.

1) Importing 1920 x 1440 GoPro footage, .mp4, 29.97 fps : What sequence settings do I need for this media? I can't find any presets that match it. So I just pick a 1440 x 1080 sequence. What should I be doing?
2) Exporting Media quality is very poor and pixelated. I am just importing a video into a sequence and exporting about 10 seconds at a time with different export settings: H.264/Match Source, Quicktime, H.264-Blu ray with different presets. And I'm checking "USe max render quality". Every time it renders very pixelated.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI accidentally exported original photos in low quality (reduced size from 12MB to 600KB), as I needed to quickly (herein lays my mistake) upload them to a proofing site which requires me to reduce the quality of the images significantly. I NEVER usually do anything without backing things up, or before making a copy etc. This time however, I was in a BIG rush to get these to a client and I not only exported the original files (even though I exported to a new folder, somehow, the originals got reduced as well without me noticing), but I also deleted them from my memory card (I tried card recovery software and no luck). What I'm left with now is a folder full of low quality, useless images and no (known) way of restoring them to the original high quality (12MB) state. Here are some other details:
Program: Lightroom 2
Computer: MacBook Pro
Camera: Nikon D7100
(I only post this as I used my camera to delete the images off the memory cards...not sure if there is a way to recover via camera?)
Images no longer show in preview (yes, I deleted them from there too!)I did not back-up I tried scanning my hard-drive, memory card and external drive with recovery software (no luck)the images were on 2 memory cards and, as mentioned, I deleted them using my camera (when I ran the recovery software, only images that I originally deleted via my computer came up - which were the "did not make the cut" photos from the shoot that I deleted in Bridge - the rest of the photos, which are the ones I need, are not coming up in the scan)These images were to be used as posters, so high quality is crucial. im currently workin between photoshop and flash but am havin problems with the size of my files.
I am saving my images form photoshop - for example size 700px x 800px. and then set my stage size within flash to 700px x 800px, but when i import the file into flash they are not set to the values and are a lot smaller?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just finished editing a 67 minute documentary, and I'm preparing to send it to the replication company. The problem I'm running into is that the project looks very clear and clean in premiere pro, however as soon as I export and burn it to a disc via encore, the finished video is noticibly pixelated/grainy, and a lower quality.
The footage was shot in HD. I've tried exporting MPEG-DVD and MPEG so far. The MPEG-DVD setting was worse than MPEG, but that wasn't great.
Is there anything I can try to get this footage to look better? (It's due at the replication company on Tuesday.)
