I'm working on my design for a project (book) and I want to export a typography into Photoshop to give it more effects, work with a textured background, etc. I was wondering if I export it as a PSD file I'll be able to keep the printing quality, since printing text from Photoshop comes out pixelated. Also, would I have to re-open it in Illustrator again after I'm done with Photoshop?

I am a Media teacher having to use this software with the class and they must have high production values for their controlled assessment. However, I do not know how to get around the problem that all the work is predominantly blurred because students have scaled down the pictures resulting in horrendous blurring.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy image is in grayscale though it's recognised as RGB. It contains structures in white which I would like to fill with a colour. So basically, I'd like for all the white in the image to show up as e.g. red.
How do I do that? I'm guessing it must be possible to have a red layer and somehow this will then fill the white, but I'm getting confused with background and foreground filling options and I don't know which transparency options I have to choose.
How do I export and import preferences? I need to trash them often because PS is crashing when I try and print. Suport only gave me this instruction and couldn;t figure out a solution - just trash my prefs.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a large number of sporting photos (both RAW and JPG versions) that need to be cropped to zoom in on player and eventually saved as JPEGs on CD, that can later be printed as 8 X10's by player parents.
When I crop the jpeg (setting 8 X 10 and resolution not filled in) I get a resolution around 150 , too low for printing. I know if I fill in resolution too , PS will use Resample Image and but I will get a somewhat degraded picture at 8 X 10.
Is there a way to use the RAW version of the photos, (since they are not compressed), be able to crop and still save at a printable resolution, without using Resample.
recently I've designed a logo, and the problem is the following: I've desgined it in Illustrator CS6 and the text is fully editable, but when I downsave it to make it compatible with Illustrator 10, the text automatically outlines itself! how do I save it so the text remains editable and keeps the compatibility with the 10 version?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am experiencing some problems in getting a .dwg file I created in AutoCAD 2012 into Photoshop. Basically what I did was traced a jpg file (lots of detail) but now I want to bring that into Photoshop and put some color on it. I used the export option and saved as bmp but then the lines are all jagged (when I zoom in, the detailed features and various lines get blurry, I can see the pixels). Is there any other way to be able to use the work I already did in AutoCAD? I would not like to start my work from scratch in Photoshop.

I tried "knockout" tool, pathfinder merge, creating outline from text, and nothing has worked so far.I've browsed online forums for answers and nothing works.
I want all the black to be one file, and remove all the white. I tried the "select same" function, but this didn't work either.
I have decided to print some of my digital pictures; how do you crop pictures in Photoshop while keeping the same proportion so they will still work for 4x6 prints. I know how to keep the same proportion when resizing files, just not cropping.

It shows a road map and has lots of road names that follow the path of the associated road. When I open this doc in Illustrator CS6 I am told that the legacy text must be updated before it can be edited.
If I open the file without updating the text then everything looks fine but if I choose to accept the offer to update all the text then my road names appear with irregular character spacing that looks very ugly.
How I can update the text to CS6 without messing up the appearance?
I am trying to send a file to a newspaper for print. Only thing is Illustrator makes the files massive.
A normal newspaper ad ends up to be 58MB when converted to PDF. When i make something in Indesign it only exports to about 8MB for PDF.

I am editing a map and need my map split into multiple rectangular segments. My map is made up of many layers and sub layers which I need to preserve. When I clipping mask the map with a rectangle all of the map's subs layers merge into one layer. How do I make a clipping mask whilst preserving sub layer structure? It seems like a 'layer mask' is the correct tool but doesn't seem like CS6 has it?

If I change the dpi it reduces the physical size of my original image and I am afraid that the final print quality will be compromised. How can I be sure that my original image quality will be preserved? Also my original physical document size ranges anywhere from 7-8 inches wide to 8-10 inches high.

When export to pdf completed, I was left with a broken shape shown in the attached pdf.

Rather than having a separate document containing tips on how best to use the template (which of course, no-one will read) I thought it might be better to include info in the template itself. It would be a chore if this advisory info had to be deleted each time however. Any good method for being able to leave text or layers that I might be able to lock and thus couldn't be ignored by people using the doc, but importantly, would not be shown in the final result when placed in InDesign? The ideal result would not include having to specify lots of import options in InDesign for each file as there could be hundreds of these things to place!
