I am doing a cover for one book and the customer definitely wants one picture with very low quality on it. When it was printed as an attempt, the picture was very pixelized (one could see the pixels in a way they are - rectangle-like...). Is there any tool in Ps how to smooth tthem? What could be done to achieve as best printing quality as possible?!
View 3 RepliesI know this has to do with Anti-alias but as far as I can see , Paint.net only has this option as On or Off.
I would like to be able to adjust the aggressive of smoothing quality. This would allow me to draw very smooth curve with minimal effort using a mouse.
Gimp 2 has this option Smooth stroke I really like it but too bad, gimp 2 is slow to load and is not as lean as Paint.net. I suppose it should be something like a setting, not an effect that applies after the curves have been drawn.

I have many images of slides scanned at high res (4800 DPI, maximum pixels 5214x3592). Although I will be saving these as loss less TIFs, I also wish to make JPGs from them that I wish to be just less than 5 MB in file size. Aside from cropping, I know I can achieve such a reduction of JPG file size by a combination of saving to lower quality JPG compression or reducing image size. My question is, what is theoretically or practically better, achieving this mostly by reducing image total pixels or by reducing JPG compression quality.

the prints doesn't match the qualty on screen. on screen, it looks better.
i've created a logo for my company but I'm trying to sharpen it up quit a bit for the web and also for printing.
I've tried increasing the dpi up to 600.
I created a PDF from a webpage. Afterwards, I needed to crop and combines various parts of pages using photoshop. Some of the pages come out of the stadard margins. When I print nothing is cut off and the font looks exactly the same size but the text is extrememly fuzzy.

If I change the dpi it reduces the physical size of my original image and I am afraid that the final print quality will be compromised. How can I be sure that my original image quality will be preserved? Also my original physical document size ranges anywhere from 7-8 inches wide to 8-10 inches high.

My question is, how can I get the printout to appear as it does on the computer screen, whenever I print it out now the resolution is really low and fuzzy. View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using two different types of raster ECW and MrSid. ECW file resolution goes way down when plotting. They look like blocks. MrSid files look fuzzy but alot better than ECWs. I've tried RASTERTHRESHOLD, and RASTERPERCENT. Both are set to 90. Using HP6100ps.
Images are fine when using Imageinsert.
Is there a setting i'm missing somewhere for them?
exporting my CorelDrawX6 files as a high quality jpg for large scale printing purposes. In X4 it was very easy - just export as usual to the highest quality cmyk jpg and open in Photo Paint... now when I export this way it takes forever to bring up the preview page and most of the time it ends up being blank. Sometimes even crashes. I have played with all options in the filter dialog menu that I can find but nothing works. Thought it might be a file size problem but never had that problem in X4 and anything under 200dpi will not be high enough quality.

I know in programs like After Effects and Combustion you can set when saving an image whether or not it is square or rectangular pixels.
How do I do this in Photoshop if it can be done?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm pretty new to photoshop, and I've started on a personal project. I want to basically take a video still from a music video and turn it into a poster. Sadly i can not find a good quality version of the video as it is older and not super famous, (kyuss-one inch man). So i found an online video that is better then youtube but not great, and i captured it through the vista snipping tool (screen capture).
Basically I want to take this low quality picture, and turn it into a good quality poster (not huge). What techniques and things must I do? I'll probably have to find a printer near here and require a specific dpi as well.
My problem is related with the quality of a image.
My question is how to maintain high quality (original quality) of a image after resizing it?
If i resize it with same ratio like:
2816x2112px to 1600x1200px (4:3)
2816x1584px to 1920x1080px (16:9)
Mainly i use scale image option in Gimp. But now i need to resize many images for my work so i tried David's Batch Processor to resize my images. After using it, i found there is some quality promble with the resized image.
Then i tried, the scale option with, use quality setting from original image and JPEG quality parameter is 95, in gimp but the problem is same. I did it with also with David's batch processor- JPEG quality parameter is 95.
Other thing is that, the original image 2816x2112px (4:3), size- 3.6 MB is displaying in image viewer with 47% and the resized image 1600x1200px (4:3). size- 1.2 MB is displaying in image viewer with 83%, So my questions are: How can i check the quality of a image after resizing it, means the image is exactly same as the original? Or Is David's Batch Processor maintain the original quality of the images after resizing?. I realy need to resize many images for my work.
I am trying to import photos from my computer to Photoshop elements 11. It has imported most but wont import some as "file quality is too high". How do I get around this? Do I have to downgrade the quality of my photos? To do editing wouldn't you want the best quality photos to start off with?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have just downloaded the cs4 demo for photoshop after reading about how it can paint on 3d objects. I imported an obj file I created in modo. In modo I hit tab to turn on smoothing. In photoshop I can't seem to find a way to do smoothing. I know that photoshop isn't a 3d program but I was wondering if it offers any kind of smoothing algorithm? I'd hate to have to save out my mesh at a high poly count to bring into PS to paint. Is this the only way or am I missing something?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI need help with the brush tool in Photoshop CS3. All the brushes appear to be pixelated, and I'm unable to draw any smooth lines at all. Whatever I draw comes out edgy and rough.
On the other hand, the eraser tool still produces smooth lines. I tried fiddling with brush preferences, but nothing I do helps: I just can't draw smooth lines with the brush tool, although the smoothing option is turned on.
But,I couldn't figure out how to "paint back in detail" like it described, into the eyes and lips. It said something like "paint with a black brush over the blur mask to eliminate the blur in specific areas." I couldn't find a black brush; which brush is it talking about?
Also, I'd like to know how to apply this technique to just an area I've selected with the lasso tool, like her face.
I need help with smoothing a logo. The whole outside of the logo looks rough and jagged, can anyone please tell me what to do to make it smoothed out?

The rounded corners are like this, too. I've tried using the blur tool to smooth it out but that doesn't seem to work here for whatever reason.
