I'm a newbie for Illustrator plugins and I was referring to [URL] .... as a start up but the example gived used Xcode 3.1.1. I'm using version 5.0.2 and I found that most the steps cannot be find in newer versions. Where I can find material for beginner to learn.

I already installed all adope programmes again, after de-installing it.
I was initially getting an error message when attempting to open Illustrator 6 on my Mac (running 10.6.8). An unknown error has occurred (4294967253). Adobe Illustrator will now quit. I read a post where the user was to select shift+option+command right after booting up. When I did that, a dialog box popped up asking if I'd like to participate in submitting feedback to Adobe and asked for my profession, location, industry, etc. It then attempted to open a new file but gave the following error: The document 'Print.ai' contains elements that are managed by plug-ins that are not currently available. You can delete or expand these elements but you cannot manipulate them in other ways. The missing plug-ins are listed below. Stroke Offset Live Effect (StrokeOffset.aip). I can open an existing file, but no tools are available to edit with and I get additional errors regarding missing plug-ins. My Mac has also been running a bit slow lately as well...not sure if the two issues are connected, but I'm willing to try anything to meet an impending deadline. I have plenty of space remaining on my computer, so that can't be it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI opened a new file...Then I tried to place a jpg and it wouldn't allow me. I started getting some missing plugin errors, tried to relaunch illustrator and I cannot. I get the Missing Required plugins PDF Format.aip error. I also cannot re-install as I don't have back-up disk, I work for a non-profit always on a budget.
The PDF Format.aip is in the packages.
I am trying to save and load plugin's settings, ex. dialog setting values and strings. OS platform is windows XP. First I programmed the way of using *.ini file. But that not appropriate for Macintosh. So, I like to know common way by using SDK's APIs.
Development env. is VS2008 and Ai CS5 SDK.

So I painstakingly set up my workspace in the 32 bit version of Illustrator CS6, all the panels laid up over 2 screens in the way I use them most eficiently to suit my personal workflow, thinking that the 64 bit version would also have the same workspace available once I start it. Silly me! Why should I have thought things could be so straightforward? Well OK, they don't share workspaces - so how do I export my workspace that I saved in the 32 bit AI to the 64 bit version? That must be do-able surely - if we need to switch versions obviously we want to maintain consistency.

I recently created a file in Illustrator CS6 (Creative Cloud version), and saved it as PDF with illustrator editing capabilities preserved. It saved fine, but when I opened the file in Illustrator CS6 again for more editing today, it gave me an earlier version of the file instead of the latest version that I saved last night. However, the file opened correctly in Quick Look, Preview and Photoshop CS6. I've tried to make a copy of the file, and open the copy in a different folder, as well as deleting illustrator preferences.I don't want to spend another 1.5 hours to redo things that I've done.
