Can’t save 24 x 36 ai version 9 file when opened in CS6, even when opened as an outline format. I was able to save the file when reduced to 8 x 11, once saved I resized it back to 24 x 36 but it still didn’t work.

Just upgraded to CS6 and get this error frequently. This is a major problem for me because linked files and document management are essential to my business.
Running on Windows 7
Can’t save the illustration. The file may be read only, or the file is in use by another application, or you do not have the required permissions. Please save the document with a different name, or in a different folder or directory. -54
How to correct this
I recently created a file in Illustrator CS6 (Creative Cloud version), and saved it as PDF with illustrator editing capabilities preserved. It saved fine, but when I opened the file in Illustrator CS6 again for more editing today, it gave me an earlier version of the file instead of the latest version that I saved last night. However, the file opened correctly in Quick Look, Preview and Photoshop CS6. I've tried to make a copy of the file, and open the copy in a different folder, as well as deleting illustrator preferences.I don't want to spend another 1.5 hours to redo things that I've done.

It returns the message "Can't open file", it seems like it does the save only when initial file is dwg.
The goal I wish I click a custom button and will save my opened dxf drawing back to dxf in 2004 format.
Could not save Preferences because the file is locked, you do not have necessary access permissions, or another program is using the file. Use the ‘Get Info’ command in the Finder to ensure the file is unlocked and you have permission to access the file. If the problem persists, save the document to a different file or duplicate it in the Finder.
Get me past this message. Nothing I have read applies exactly to eliminating this infuriating message. How do I get past, “Can’t save preferences message” in PS CS6?
Open an .AI file saved on a netapp or windows shared directory with full permissions (prior to saving I noted that all security groups are intact in file properties as we have 2 for read and write access)Make any changesTry to save and get the prompt: Can’t save preview, but all other information was saved successfully. Notes:No issues with the same file in 10.7.x.

I am using Autocad LT 2012 on Windows XP at my office computer. I Save a file in an earlier version e.g. 2004 or 2007 and email to home computer, Autocad LT 2008 on Windows Vista. The file will not open. Message is that the file has been created by a later version. THis has not been my experience with earlier versions.

I have also tried to open or place the file in photoshop as a .psd, .ai , .pfd and still the quality is lost.I have saved with different resolution settings too, but it always loses quality when it is opened in photoshop.

I have a simple script that I need to run when a file is opened in illustrator(cs5) on windows 7. I tried adding the script to the "startup scripts" folder but that only executes when a new instance of illustrator is started. If illustrator is already open and I go to "file/open", the script doesn't run.

I am using Video Studio X4 with Service Packs 1 and 2 installed running on Windows XP Home, SP 2 with all updates installed and DirectX 9.0. The scene changes work fine when I Preview them but they are not saved when I close the Create Disk sub-menu. When I return to the “Menu and Preview” section of the Create Disk sub-menu, the Main Menu scene change is present as is the Chapter 1 scene change but the other chapter scene changes are gone. When saving a file using the 'Save' option (not 'Save As') the file is not staying at the size of the artboard as it should, it is however being aurtomatically cropped down to the actual artwork size.
