I would like to know if there is a way to save a .svg file to my PC.It's a public graphic from wikipedia, and I just want to play with it on Illustrator. I'm not copying or infringing the copyright.
am having an Issue with CS6 when saving files. When saving a file using the 'Save' option (not 'Save As') the file is not staying at the size of the artboard as it should, it is however being aurtomatically cropped down to the actual artwork size. This is causing issues with the Process we work with as we need the file to stay at the artboard size.If I click 'Save As' and change the Adobe PDF Preset to 'Press Quality' then this works, however this means that every file we save(which is quite alot in a day) means we have to go through the 'Save As' option and manually change each save.why this has suddenly started to happen with our Illustrators and do you know how to fix this so that it stays at the Artboard size when 'Save' is used?
I've designed a logo with a green background (C: 57,5 - M: 15,15 - Y: 99,73 - K: 1,65) in Illustrator cs6. When I want to save my file as .PDF, and I open my PDF file, the green colour has changed (C: 59,22 - M: 12,94 - Y: 90,98 - K: 62,67). When I save my file as PDF I use the standard properties of Adobe (Acrobat 6, PDF 1.5).
I want to save a file as .wmf. I see the metafile option when opening a project, but when trying to save it the file options are limited, with .wmf not one of them (in version CS6).
I am trying to save my illustrator file as a PDF. I am using PMS colors in the file, and when I save it as a pdf those colors turn gray. However, when I export it to a jpg the colors show up fine. What is causing it?
Since I've had Illustrator CS6 and CC I cannot save any other file types besides an .ai file. I thought I may have had a bad version of CS6 but the upgrade to CC didn't solve the problem.
I've also tried an unistall and fresh install of the program.

Where i work, we always need to save an AI file and a PDF file. So is there a way I can set up my Illustrator so everytime i save something, it'll save the AI file and automatically create the PDF too? ..
Or is there no way around .... Save as: Illustrator file. / Save as: PDF file in two separate actions?.
After latest Ai CS6 update (16.0.1) app is still unstable, it's works like alpha version. I still have the same problems (I reset preferences etc.):
- very very very often freeze on File/New... - very often freeze on File/Save for Web...
I bought update from CS5.5 to CS6 but at this moment Ai CS6 is absolutely unusable for me. I'm back to Ai CS5 and everything works ok. How is possible that older version works like a charm on Mac OS X 10.8.1 on Mac Pro (Early 2008) than never version CS6?

I am getting this message when I try and export an AI file as .psd file. Illustrator is the only app open on a new 24" iMac running 10.5.4. The illustrator file itself is only about 5 mb. Yet . . .I get the message "Not enough memory to save file."

Problem: When using Illustrator (CS4), saved files as .EPS, do not have the appropriate Illustrator icon on the file. When I click on them to open, instead of opening in Illustrator, the file open in "Preview".
NOTE: ".AI" files saved, do not have the correct AI icon either, but do open in Illustrator.
I am operating on a Mac Air Book with the new Adobe Creative Cloud. I am new to Illustartor, so do not know how to use it well. I saved my document as a pdf, however, in the preview, it does not have the background color, but is jjust plain white. How can I save my document so that the color will show onto the pdf?
I have an ai file that I can not save with out getting the File I/O error message. One person suggested that this file may be corrupted since I've been bouncing back and forth between 2 different Illustrator programs. I use CS-4 at work, save as CS-3 format then continue working on it at home. I tried copying each layer to a new fresh doc. but still get the error code. Is there a way to fix this file? Both back-up files I have behave the same way.

I have a logo which I would like to use as a transparent .gif file on my wordpress site. I have saved it for web use on Illustrator, but when I uploaded it, there is a white outline on the transparent logo, and it is all pixelated.
I'm experiencing difficulties in exporting website from .AI to .PSD using Illustrator CS5.1 under Windows7 Home Premium 64bit. The error message says "Not enough memory to save the file".
I can assure you that i've got enough memory for scratch disks and my computer is powerful enough to handle this operation. The funny thing is that i am able to export the very same .Ai file using Illustrator CS5.1 under Windows XP 32bit on different PC.
I've tried to find a solution online, but it gave no satisfying results so far. So, i think the problem comes from the operating system, but i don't know how to fix it...
How to save an .eps file from Illustrator without embedding the text? I don't mean the fonts, but the actual text. I've created a logo that has text in it, and I want to save a copy as a vector-graphic, without any selectable, searchable text baked into it. I know that I can convert the text to outlines, but I want to actually keep the .ai file to work on, and keep the text in that file to edit.
The only solution I can think of is to duplicate my text layers and convert them to outlines, but that's incredibly convoluted.
Can’t save 24 x 36 ai version 9 file when opened in CS6, even when opened as an outline format. I was able to save the file when reduced to 8 x 11, once saved I resized it back to 24 x 36 but it still didn’t work.
Just upgraded to CS6 and get this error frequently. This is a major problem for me because linked files and document management are essential to my business.
Running on Windows 7
Can’t save the illustration. The file may be read only, or the file is in use by another application, or you do not have the required permissions. Please save the document with a different name, or in a different folder or directory. -54
we need to be able to collect (save to a list) a series of x,y coordinates as each object in an AI file is selected. Can this be done by creating a script of some kind that runs concurrently with Illustrator? Is this something that can be done via Action Scripts?
