View 2 RepliesIm brand spanking new to Illistrator, andfor my first project decided to re-make my logo for my small minecraft server, since my origional was such poor quality.how to make what I wanted, the problem im having is when I change the size of my grouped image it creates grey lines between the rectangle shapes, There is no gaps, if you zoom in as far as you can they disappear.I exported the image as PNG and they still percist, attatched (Top right finished origional size I made it)
I found out I could "rasterize" my selected content like in video editing "render", I had to do this to "finish" a vector image, any more information on a better workflow.
am having an Issue with CS6 when saving files. When saving a file using the 'Save' option (not 'Save As') the file is not staying at the size of the artboard as it should, it is however being aurtomatically cropped down to the actual artwork size. This is causing issues with the Process we work with as we need the file to stay at the artboard size.If I click 'Save As' and change the Adobe PDF Preset to 'Press Quality' then this works, however this means that every file we save(which is quite alot in a day) means we have to go through the 'Save As' option and manually change each save.why this has suddenly started to happen with our Illustrators and do you know how to fix this so that it stays at the Artboard size when 'Save' is used?

I need to get it into either a .gif or .jpg format AND the final file MUST be .8 inches x .3 inces, AND no more than 10K in size. How can I save it with these dimensions/constraints and not lose resolution? What I have tried - export to .jpg (file is 5 inches x 3 inches), export and change resolution to 100ppi (image is nearly the right dimensions, but blurry). The tools I have are AI and PS both version CS5

View 16 Replies View RelatedThe outside of the stroke curve is smooth, but the inside is really bumpy and rough, even though there are only three anchor points. It prints that way too; it's not just the monitor.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've been having a problem in illustrator for the last couple of days that I haven't had before. It doesn't just happen with this graphic, it has happened with other objects, even happened with a circle yesterday. It doesn't happen to all objects on the artboard though, just particular ones.
I've drawn these shapes with the pen tool, but the stoke and fill aren't aligned aligned with the path that I've drawn. It's causing issues when I resize (see image below) and also when I align. It aligns the path correctly but because that image doesn't match the path it looks wrong.
I have Photoshop CS6 and Elements Premiere 11 and both were showing estimated file sizes properly up until a couple of weeks ago, and both stopped at the same time. Using Image, Mode I have verified on both that the images I am trying to save are 8 bit and not 16 bit images. I am on Window 7, 64bit.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIn playing around with some settings while saving a .png file, I noticed some weird results. For this example, the original image is 300 x 300, but I want the final size to be 200 x 200. I get different results depending on the order I perform the following operations (I never thought the order mattered until now).
1. start with 300 x 300 image, choose save for web, select png-24, with transparency, white matte, convert to sRGB, change image size to 200 x 200, then save - the file size is 37kb.
2. start with 300 x 300 image, use Photoshop's "image size" to change to 200 x 200, then save for web, etc - the file size is 111kb
So depending on which step I resize the image, the file size is significantly different - if I resize BEFORE using save for web, the file size is much larger. This is just weird to me, but I always resize AFTER choosing save for web, so that's why I've never caught this until now. In case you ask, while using Photoshop's "image size", all three options are checked at the bottom of that window, so nothing is getting re-sampled or anything like that.
The only thing I can think of is each of those methods treat pixel data differently when reducing the dimensions. When I overlay both exported .png files on top of each other, I see no difference in pixel quality and/or color shift - so why the big difference in file size? if I just save the file straight to .png, the sharpness is much better, and the file size is 46 kb. I did notice when saving for web, the colors become a little more saturated.I've never really paid much attention to the results when exporting .png's.
So i created a new project in Illus. CS5 with an artboard size of 700x150 pixels. I have two graphics in there that are about 215 pixels tall so part of it flies off the artboard, but i have a clipping part that hides all the parts that i dont want to see.
The problem is when i go to Save for Web, the ouput image is 700x215 because it includes the space used by the graphics, that fly off the board, but you dont even see it. I was able to get around this by opening the file in photoshop and then cropping to 700x150 so the extra space is removed, but there should be a way to save this in Illus. without the hassel.
Illustrator CC: how do I save my svg with artboard size?
It looks right when I open it in Illustrator, but in finder is still letter size.
I realise there are pros and cons to this question and the temptation is to opt for the highest quality, but the file sizes are huge. So, my camera files will be mainly 1080 files at 30fps, what will be the best file type/size to save files for future use. I don't really mind the rendering time and space isn't a huge problem, but the variety of file types is bewildering. Most clips will find their way to DVD but I don't want to reduce resolution as they might be used at a later date for Blu-Ray.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using AutoCAD Civil 3D 2009.I have a project files suddenly file size becomes @ 10 MB after saving. Even Titlblock size is 7 MB.
I had installed a latest update over my system as well i tried to clean a file as per below thread. URL....After doing this file size reduced to KB. But if open it again and saved the file size go to MB.
I'm working on a large tradeshow booth design. It was suggested that if my computer can handle it, to work at scale (120 " X 90") at 150dpi. So I am.
I am nearly finished designing and now Photoshop 7 is giving me an error:
"Cannot save file...the document size exceeds 2G." Or words to that effect.
The document window tells me that the file is 970 MB, less than a Gig.
I've purged all hidden layers to reduce the overall files size. No go.
I removed the last image I had in the design, which used outer glow effect, and now the file will save.
The issue that I'm having really resides in AutoCAD 2012 after the file has been opened and saved in Civil 3D 2012.
For example, I can use AutoCAD to open a new or existing drawing that has never been used in Civil 3D. I'll run two audits, purge all twice, purge regapps, reset the scale list, then save the drawing. If I open it in AutoCAD again, the file size remains the same.
If I open it in Civil 3D, the file size increases that one time, which is fine. No matter how many times I open it and run the above commands, the file size doesn't change any more than 1 Kb while in Civil 3D.
BUT if I were then to open that same drawing in AutoCAD after closing it out of Civil 3D, then save - it will increase the file size by almost 100 Kb. No matter how much I run the previously mentioned commands the file size will not decrease in size. Additionally, every time I open that particular drawing in AutoCAD again and save it, it increases by another 100Kb+/-. These files are not very large, but I have wblocked some out to save more than 10 times the space.
I've seen similar posts, but they were regarding older versions and seem to be a little different than the problem we are experiencing.
I'm currently in the process of organizing my music collection with album art. I found a great site with high quality images[URL] .... and would like to resize pictures to 600x600 within the range of 200-300KB. Is there a way to automatically do this without changing the quality percentage by trial and error?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just got a issue when I use 'save as web' to save png or gif. when i chose the 'clip to artboard' the size for content will be changed. maybe smaller 1 px for both weight and high or only high. most ot the result will be cut off the buttom. I use 100 px circle with 2px stroke to test this (align the stroke with outside). I set the artboard fit to bounds of the art. so the artboard size should be 104 x 104 px. but when try to 'save as web'. the result will be changed.
I post the graphic below:
how can I avoid this issue?
I am trying to optimize some images for web to have a smaller file size. I am using "Save for Web" feature, and every time I try to save a file, the actual file output size is a lot bigger than the size it shows on the "Save for Web" dialog.
For example, I have a 607 bytes .gif, when I open "Save for Web" it shows 207 bytes for 16-colors but when I save it the output file is 1.22 kb.
Is there a way, when saving jpg files to save as a specific file size, rather than quality level (currently using CS5)? I have a few clients (realtors) who require files to be 100kb (or smaller... but 100kb is the ideal to shoot for) for their listings.
Given I'm working with a number of images, I would like to be able to do this as a batch, rather than one at a time, getting as close to 100 as I can without going over, as I have to at this point.
I have videos from my camera at 1440x1080, and after I edit them on Videostudio x4, when I save them (using MPEG4HD or AVCHD for example), the resulting file size is larger than the original. So I decided to use an encoder such as Xvid for reducing the file size. I choose avi as the output format and then in the options I set the resolution to 1440x1080 (not listed in the standard combobox, btw) and choose Xvid as the encoder (also tried ffdshow). But the resulting video is a smaller picture with a big black border instead.
View 1 Replies View Relatedwhen using the Save for Web... feature there is a place on the Quality slider where one point makes a disproportionately large jump in file size. It seems to me it is always at 50-51 but I'm not positive of that. Here are some results from a Save for Web...
47 = 226.7K
48 = 230.1K
49 = 236.2K
50 = 239.8K
51 = 298.2
52 = 300.5
etc.
I wonder why that sharp jump exists when files grow fairly proportionately above and below that 'break point." Needless to say I always keep an eye out for that issue when saving for web.
Working in CS5.I have a vector image that I need to resize and save as a .png. I first create an artboard to the correct size I need (55x20 pixels), shrink my vector image to fit and then export to .png using the artboard as my boundaries (so that I get the correct size).Problem is, the resulting file is not 55x20, it is 229x83 (when I open in Photoshop). I can't figure out why the file is not saving to the correct size.
I have also tried opening the file in photoshop and resizing down, but that doesn't work either. My image becomes very distorted.I don't generally work in pixels or pngs...what would be the best program and process to do this. It doesn't seem like it should be so difficult, but for some reason it is!
A .cmx file produced by CorelDRAW x5 can be opened / imported / edited in any previous version of CorelDRAW? Why size changes? When I export to .cmx size doubles. If I use the option "Save as ... cmx" the file size decreases. What´s the difference? URL.....
View 6 Replies View RelatedIn vX1 I could save jpeg without substantially reducing file Mb size. In vX4, whenever I edit and save a jpeg file (using save & save as), it results in a reduced number of Mb's. Options in the 'save as' dialog are set at best. It would appear that PSP X4 is automatically optimising. Is there any way that the original file size can be retained on saving after editing?
View 7 Replies View RelatedSo, I'm trying to create a repeat pattern of a Balloon illustration I've done in Adobe Illustrator. I've got the singular file (balloon.ai), which weighs in at around 700MB.
Now I'm trying to create the repeat of this pattern on a separate Artboard which will repeat these balloons, 30 balloons per repeat square to be precise.
What would be the best way to import these separate balloons into the repeat square once (as they're the same file) without affecting the weight of the file and performance of Illustrator?
So, in essence, is there a way to import that balloon.ai file and only have it use up 700MB on the page rather than 30x700MB by the time I've placed 30 balloons?
I can't rasterize the files as the printer needs the raw file.
I designed artwork for a large banner (84" x 32") so my AI artboard is that large. As you can imagine, with all the text and graphics I used, this file size is 22.8 MB. I need to email this art to the printer, but the file size is too large to email. How do i go about reducing the file size in AI so it still maintains large format print resolution? Will saving to a PDF lose the print quality?

When I save my file as PDF I use the standard properties of Adobe (Acrobat 6, PDF 1.5).
