Mar 24, 2012I'm using Illustrator for work and I love it, I never needed scripts yet. Now I have couple houndred svgs coming in per day, I would like to have a script that opens every svg one by one in the selected directory and add them to a pdf as pages of the same size and than save it.
How many files I could put in 1 pdf this way?
I'm using Illustrator CS5 on Win7 x64.

Nov 27, 2012Every day at least a dozen times I print spot color separations for film through the print dialogue to pdf, and every single time I have to either print the spot colors one at a time, or open the multipage pdf in Acrobat and use the clunky extract page function to get separate files. Is there any way to just get it to print separate pdfs?
Then I have to rename each sep to have the color in the file name. If there was a way to automate that?

Mar 5, 2010Often times when designing a logo I create different versions and variable options on layers. This can result in several layers in one Illustrator file. Is there an easy way or an existing script that will allow me to (with one click) create a multi-page PDF consisting of all the layers within my .ai file? The current method is turning on each layer, performing a save-as (PDF), then turning off said layer and turning on the next layer and repeating the task and so-on-and-so-forth, etc … It becomes tedious and quite often I save over the previous version, forgetting to re-name it or forget to perform a save on a certain layer. I have never written my own script before but am not opposed to trying, where do I begin?

Jun 18, 2013am having an Issue with CS6 when saving files. When saving a file using the 'Save' option (not 'Save As') the file is not staying at the size of the artboard as it should, it is however being aurtomatically cropped down to the actual artwork size. This is causing issues with the Process we work with as we need the file to stay at the artboard size.If I click 'Save As' and change the Adobe PDF Preset to 'Press Quality' then this works, however this means that every file we save(which is quite alot in a day) means we have to go through the 'Save As' option and manually change each save.why this has suddenly started to happen with our Illustrators and do you know how to fix this so that it stays at the Artboard size when 'Save' is used?

Sep 4, 2012After latest Ai CS6 update (16.0.1) app is still unstable, it's works like alpha version. I still have the same problems (I reset preferences etc.):
- very very very often freeze on File/New...
- very often freeze on File/Save for Web...
I bought update from CS5.5 to CS6 but at this moment Ai CS6 is absolutely unusable for me. I'm back to Ai CS5 and everything works ok. How is possible that older version works like a charm on Mac OS X 10.8.1 on Mac Pro (Early 2008) than never version CS6?

Oct 21, 2011I'm experiencing difficulties in exporting website from .AI to .PSD using Illustrator CS5.1 under Windows7 Home Premium 64bit. The error message says "Not enough memory to save the file".
I can assure you that i've got enough memory for scratch disks and my computer is powerful enough to handle this operation. The funny thing is that i am able to export the very same .Ai file using Illustrator CS5.1 under Windows XP 32bit on different PC.
I've tried to find a solution online, but it gave no satisfying results so far. So, i think the problem comes from the operating system, but i don't know how to fix it...

Apr 13, 2013How to save an .eps file from Illustrator without embedding the text? I don't mean the fonts, but the actual text. I've created a logo that has text in it, and I want to save a copy as a vector-graphic, without any selectable, searchable text baked into it. I know that I can convert the text to outlines, but I want to actually keep the .ai file to work on, and keep the text in that file to edit.
The only solution I can think of is to duplicate my text layers and convert them to outlines, but that's incredibly convoluted.
