I was wondering if it's possible to save an AI file as both an AI file & PDF file at the same time??
Where i work, we always need to save an AI file and a PDF file. So is there a way I can set up my Illustrator so everytime i save something, it'll save the AI file and automatically create the PDF too? ..
Or is there no way around .... Save as: Illustrator file. / Save as: PDF file in two separate actions?.
AI seems to take a long time to save a 4 MB file. Is there some setting to make save faster? I have linked images, not embedded.

The average file size I've been working with is around 4MB, so not very big. I also make sure that I have as few programs opened as possible while I'm working in AI.

I downloaded the reg key and installed it. When I restarted PS to test it on a file, there was no difference in either save time or file size. The test file is a 300 MB multi-layered PSD file.

The problem is:
From within Windows Explorer, I can only open 1 Illustrator file at a time. To get a different file to open, I either have to drag and drop the second file into the tabs under the menubar, or I need to quit Illustrator and re-open it. Also, I can not open additional files from Explorer one-at-a-time if one is already open.
Quirks:
If I go to File -> Open I can select multiple files from within the Open File dialogue window and they open just fine. but i can't do it from within windows explorer.This used to work and now it doesn't.

I've found some very good scripts like the MultiExporter.js by Matthew Ericson and Export Layeres as PNG files by Johan Otterud, however none that quite fit our needs. We need an Illustrator script that takes an AI file and spits out an .eps, .jpg (for print), multiple .png sizes for web, and .pdf. We have an extensive download library for members that constantly change and rotate with new logos, print materials and other graphics.
I was hoping that there was some kind of script that would cut some time off of exporting all the different versions each time.
How do I prevent multiple users opening and amending a Illustrator file at the same time? Why no warning box?

When saving a file using the 'Save' option (not 'Save As') the file is not staying at the size of the artboard as it should, it is however being aurtomatically cropped down to the actual artwork size. This is causing issues with the Process we work with as we need the file to stay at the artboard size.If I click 'Save As' and change the Adobe PDF Preset to 'Press Quality' then this works, however this means that every file we save(which is quite alot in a day) means we have to go through the 'Save As' option and manually change each save.why this has suddenly started to happen with our Illustrators and do you know how to fix this so that it stays at the Artboard size when 'Save' is used?

I upgraded to Maverick (Apple OSX) about 2.5 weeks ago. But this problem didn't start until about 3 days ago, so surely that's not the issue.
I am updating capture time based on GPS Time (a bit OCD, I know) but when I change Capture Time the Date Time Digitized value does not change. This in in LR 4.3 and is not affected by whether on not the Catalog is set to 'Write date or time changes into proprietary raw files'.

One person suggested that this file may be corrupted since I've been bouncing back and forth between 2 different Illustrator programs. I use CS-4 at work, save as CS-3 format then continue working on it at home. I tried copying each layer to a new fresh doc. but still get the error code. Is there a way to fix this file?
