View 1 RepliesWhen I save or save as and EPS, the window that I'm working on, the pallets, and all the toolbars freeze. I am still able to access the Menus at the top, and if I turn some of the pallets on and off, it unfreezes.
I'm running OSX 10.4 on a Mac Pro with 5GB RAM.
My illustrator won't let me save in pdf, it allows me to print in pdf but the option window for saving in pdf doesn't appear and the program freezes, last week it was working fine. I already tried deleting the settings folder and i don't work with multiple monitors so i couldn't have misplaced de window. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it didn't work.

Where i work, we always need to save an AI file and a PDF file. So is there a way I can set up my Illustrator so everytime i save something, it'll save the AI file and automatically create the PDF too? ..
Or is there no way around .... Save as: Illustrator file. / Save as: PDF file in two separate actions?.
AI seems to take a long time to save a 4 MB file. Is there some setting to make save faster? I have linked images, not embedded.

I have to use ALT/CONTROL/DELETE to get out of it and start over... and I lose my work. It usually happens when I use the 'eraser' but NOT ALWAYS. Is there a Fix or will downloading a new version correct the problem?

View 3 Replies View RelatedIllustrator CC keeps crashing every time I try to save a file. My Creative Cloud is up to date, and I have a brand new iMac with 8GB Ram and the latest operating system. The average file size I've been working with is around 4MB, so not very big. I also make sure that I have as few programs opened as possible while I'm working in AI.
I've been talking to Apple Care every week, and even went back to the store to change my computer for a new one, but am still having problems.
I know in Adobe PhotoShop you can save each image indivdually without an image folder being created.

Since we got that out of the way let's get to it.
A week ago I was told that a lot of times the PC's freeze when you try to "Save", "Save as" or "Open" a file (we open/save on a network drive). If that happens we have to restart the PC and hope it doesn't happen again, but since this happens quite a lot (over the course of four days about 27 times on 7 PC's) I tried to fix this.
I installed the patch, updated the drivers for the graphic card and reinstalled NET Framework 4. The problem didn't occur as often but it still happened sometimes.
I'm attempting to use CS3 on a Dell laptop- 64 bit- Windows 7.
When first installed it worked fine, then suddenly it was non-functional. It will open, but ANY request at all will cause it to freeze. I have to close it through Task Manager. I get no error messages, and when I went in to view the event viewer there is nothing there under Applications.
I've changed the default printer to a non-network but haven't done much else as I don't have administrative privileges on this (work) computer. We tried uninstalling and reinstalling and that did nothing.
I have had CorelDRAW X6 for about 6-months with no problems. Recently I try to open X6 and the load time is extremly long. Once it finally loads the screen looks normal but when I click on anything on the screen i just get a "ding" sound and the screen is frozen. I actually have to go to task manager to shut it off.
Once in a while I can open a previous design and then everything will work fine. I thought I would try to re-install the software. I tried to uninstall but when I get to the uninstall page I see three options "Modify", "Repair", or "Remove". I can click on these but there is not other botton on the page like and OK or Continue, so I am stuck.
This software is very important to my t-shirt design business. how to either get it to load normally and act normal or at least be able to uninstall and re-install?
Every time I try to import photos, lightroom freezes, then crashes.
View 22 Replies View RelatedI just downloaed the Premier Pro CC 30 day trial. I edited some nice video and was strongly considering adding this to my Photoshop/Lightroom subscription. However, warp stabilzer has not worked once for me. Even on clips as short as 6 seconds.
What happens is that when I drag "warp stabilzer" over a clip it analyzes the clip showing a blue banner stating "step 1 analyzing". Then after a short wait an orange banner appears and states "Stabilizing". Thats when the process stops. It stays locked in that orange banner stabilzing position permanently. I waited 3 hours for a 6 second clip and it still said "stabilizing".
Obviously something is drastically wrong. Had it not been for that I would have probably signed up for a subscription to Premium Pro CC.
I'm on a Windows 7 Pro, i7, 12 gigs of ram setup. Seperate scratch disk used also. Everything else on Premium Pro CC seems to work fine. I don't understand why warp stabilizer doesn't.
Photoshop CS3 has to be closed via task manager because it freezes when I try to save my work. Deleted the prefs.

I upgraded to Maverick (Apple OSX) about 2.5 weeks ago. But this problem didn't start until about 3 days ago, so surely that's not the issue.
I am in PS 7 (Yeah my knuckles drag a little but I can't afford to upgrade)
Everything works great until I try to save the image, then it freezes but not completely.
I can still move around but all of the menu items are dead and nothing works.
I have re installed 6 times and still the same.
Photoshop is unusable for me. I was running CS6 but it kept freezing when I tried to open a file. I uninstalled and installed CC -- same problem. I checked the preferences to see if there was a setting for an Adobe file dialog and it froze again.
I suspect it has something to do with Mountain Lion 10.8.4 but I don't have this problem in other Adobe apps. Ran Disk Utility, verified permissions, verified disk -- everything checks out. Not sure what to do.
I have the minimum requirements on my system, I have reinstalled (twice) with the proper rebooting afterwards, etc.,

View 1 Replies View Relatedwe have a new lab in our district with Autocad 2010 64-bit version installed on HP Compaq 8022 Elite SFF computers. There is 4 GB memory on the computers and a Quadro 400 graphics card. Autocad and Windows 7 64-bit have both been updated to the latest versions. The Autocad application locks up almost every time someone chooses the new document icon, or when they try to 'save as'. Sometimes when they choose to open a new document first, close that dialogue box, then try to choose the new document icon it works ok. But, for the most part, the application is unuesable. Some possible solutions we found online that don't work are to not use the Aero themes (we don't) and to not use Norton AV (we don't).

ok, here is my problem:
when i go to File->Open (or Ctrl+O), the Open dialog box opens momentarily (blink an you miss it) and then Photoshop and/or Illustrator freezes. the only way to close it is through Windows Task Manager->End Task.
there is no official error message, Photoshop/Illustrator just simply freezes.
however, and heres the kicker, when i open the files directly from the folder (Explorer) they open fine, i can work seamlessly, no problem. it only occurs when i open from the program itself. i do not know if the other suite programs (Flash, InDesign etc.) have the same problem as i dont use them much.
I ahve a users who is having an issue wher Illustrator CS6 will freeze up on startup. It displays a message that it can not laod a 39 font. However when I login to this workstation with a different userid, Illustrator opens without any issue.

When I save a file the "date modified" only on photoshop comes up as 8 hours behind.
I also use other programmes like 3D studio max and vray and the usual office suites, with no issue.
Is there a way (perhaps through directly altering some .mel file) to have my default time always be NTCS? I figured File>save preferences would do the trick but it actually doesnt...

When I'm working in an Illustrator file, every time I click on a different object the program freezes for a good 5 seconds (which adds up really quickly and is really annoying.) I first noticed this in a large illustrator file with a lot of different elements, but I was testing it out and it still happens when I have a new document with only two circles in it. One of the circles is selected and I click on the other circle and the program freezes.
