View 22 RepliesI have a file on my computer that contains photos from two cameras that took photos over the same three week timespan. I have sorted them by date and time. When I import the file the photos from one camera show first followed by the photos from the other camera. How can I import or resort in LR3 to have photos in date/time sequence?
View 2 Replies View RelatedHow do I stop LR5 from adding a dated sub folder every time I import photos. This just started and I can't find a way to turn this off. What ever date photo were taken LR makes a folder with that date when importing.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been using Lightroom 4 for almost a year with no issues. 2 days ago, it suddenly stopped exporting when I was in the middle of editing a session. It will export and entire catalog, but not single photos. When I attempt to export a single file, it will simply stop, and I have to force a shut down. I've tried rebooting my PC, creating a new catalog and resetting the preferences folder. Is there anything I can do?!
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded from LR3.6 to 4.0. When trying to import images the import module freezes for a few minutes and then displays the import screen. However, when selecting a source the program freezes again and eventually crashes.
I had the same issue when upgrading to 3.6 some time ago and then found that disabling some USB controllers solved the problem. This works for LR4 as well. As I don't need all USB connections this is a workable solution, however, disabling controllers should not be necessary to run a program.
System is an Acer Aspire 7811 64 bits w/ Intel i7, Win 7 Home Premium, 8 GB internal mem and no external drives.
I'm trying to change "capture time" of multiple photos to a specific time.
I know that there is "Edit Capture Time" feature under Metadata. But when I try to edit multiple photos, it says that "Modify the capture time stored in the selected photos by entering the correct time adjustment for the photo displayed to the left. Other photos (but not vidieos) will be adjusted by the same amount of time". And it really does.
For example,
If A file's capture time is 1/11/2011
B file's capture time is 1/11/2012
C file's capture time is 1/11/2013
I would like to change their capture time to 1/11/2014. All the three files.
But the current "Edit Capture Time" feature of Lightroom just adds three years to each file like this:
A file's capture time -> 1/11/2014
B file -> 1/11/2015
C file -> 1/11/2016
So their capture times remain as different ones. And this is not I want...
I've googled a lot and tried several programs other than lightroom as well, but the "Capture time" recognized by lightroom could not be changed by other programs.
i just upgraded from LR 5.2 TO 5.3; when i try to import LR freezes. What do i do?
View 9 Replies View RelatedThis is a new phenomenon, and we've been using LR for more than a year without issue.
we are running LR 3.6, 64 bit version, on Windows 7 home edition SP1 (x64)

In the import dialogue, when you click on a device from which to import, the "busy" indicator comes on and never stops, but no progress is made to returning control to the user so you can make your other selections within the import dialogue. This started happening last week, and I rebooted the computer and it went away. It's back now and is not responding to rebooting.
I have tried uninstalling LR and reinstalling, and I've tried deleting the preferences file, with no luck on either. I don't know what to do next.
I have a file on my hard drive that I want to import into PE 10. Is it possible to import a file containing 300+ photos into PE10 at one time? I can only find a way to import photos one by one.
Is there an easy way to send these photos to Blogger?
Lr 3.6 & Vista When trying to import images to Lr 3.6, Lr freezes--it seems to be fighting with the previous screen (of the last set of images) against the screen that shows the images about to be imported, and I can't seem to un-block either screen. The tabs can't be operated, and I can't close the application either. What do I need to do to unfreeze or unblock this problem? This has occurred on both my Laptop and Desktop.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently moved Lightroom 4.2 to my new Windows 8 PC. All modules work fine except when trying to import from either my card reader or my PC, then the program grinds to a halt and often crashes. Program worked fine on my previous Windows Vista system. The only things I moved from Vista PC were photos, Lighroom catalog file and Lightroom preferences file. Adobe support suggest trying to run Lightroom from different user on my PC, which I tried but no difference. If it makes any difference, LR is loaded on my SSD C: drive and photos, catalog, etc. on my D: drive.

I have a problem with Lightroom 4.1. When I start the import, lightroom crashes with an "Application Error" all the time. I tried to trash the preference file, but there was no change. I tried to make a clear catalog, but no change to my problem. At least, I deinstalled Lightroom completely and installed it again. But the same problem. The problem was not from the beginning. I could import several pictures. 20k pictures are imported.

Can you import and export files at the same time in Lightroom?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there anyway possible to view capture time instead of filename on the thumbnails in the import dialog?
In the normal gridview it is possible to change to a lot of diffrent info so it would be great if I could do the same thing in gridview in import dialog.
The info is there since I can hover to se the date but it would be a lot faster if it could be visible directly.
I add five photos to a folder in Lightroom 4.3. The photos are in the specified folder in Windows. Import shows the five photos as imported but greyed out and semi-highlighted. Library does not show these five photos. What can I do?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a little problem with Adobe Lightroom 4. I just started using the program and it was all workin well. I do a lot of editing through the "develop" section. Anyways, I started to export some of the photos (made them be re named to edit# according to the original number of the photo) and I found that now the "last edited" on my exported pictures said 2014/04/09. Why has the edited time changed?

I'm using LR 2.6 on a Mac running 10.7.4 (Lion).
The program keeps crashing/closing ( not freezing in screen) when I try to change the destination folder when importing.
i've not encountered tis problem before. It's just appeared since my upgrade to Lion.
It occurs regardless of the camera being used (or import from external HD). If I import to the currently selected folder everything works fine. And all editing functionality seems normal when working with images currenly in my LR library.
The crash occurs when selecting the destination folder and hitting "choose". That is to say it's before hitting the final "import button", and is definitely triggered by choosing the alternate folder.
I was running LR 5.2 and when this happened I upgraded to 5.3, same result. When I go to import from my hard drive, it allows me to select the drive and open the top level folders on the drive. When I go to open the lower level folders where my images are stored, the program stops working. The whole screen grays over and eventually says that the program has stopped working...
I have rebooted the computer, same result.
Win 7 64 bit, i5, 16 gig RAM
So I just recently purchased Lightroom 5.3 and installed it on a brand new clean install of Windows 7. When I attempt to import RAW files into LR from a secondary hard drive, Lightroom just stalls out for five to ten minutes. Eventually, if I wait long enough, the Import dialogue screen loads and I get to wait another five to ten minutes to choose my secondary drive with my RAW files on it. When I can select that drive and click the directory with my files, I get to wait ANOTHER five to ten minutes for it to accept that choice and load my photos into the Import window. Once I get past all that and hit the Import button, it actually loads the files into LR just fine and I can work as normal. I have never had this issue with this specific drive when I had Lightroom 3 and 4, so I don't know why suddenly LR 5 would not like it.

When importing photos into Lightroom 5, the option "Don't Import Suspected Duplicates" doesn't work every time. Even though I've imported some photos from the memory card, when I do another Import, all of the photos have been checked for importing including already Imported ones even though I have the "Don't Import Suspected Duplicates" option checked. Why is this?

View 17 Replies View RelatedI'm using Lightroom 5.2RC. My camera is Sony RX100M2.
Everything was working fine until a few hours ago. Then I noticed that a few shots I took late this evening were being imported into yesterday's folder. So I carefully checked what was going on, and noticed that LR import was seeing an incorrect date and time for the file! For example, below you see the date/time it sees for the first image -- that date/time is wrong.
: LR sees the wrong date/time whether I try to import from camera, from SD card in card slot, or WiFi.
Windows Explorer reads the correct date/time of the files, as does the camera, Playmemories etc. Only Lightroom is seeing a wrong date/time. I even uninstalled LR and reinstalled it, and it's still seeing the wrong date/time in import. I have also formatted my card and took new photos, but same behavior.
I've used GIMP for about 12 mo. and really like it... but the last 11 mo. I've had a problem everyday with it 'freezing'. I have to use ALT/CONTROL/DELETE to get out of it and start over... and I lose my work. It usually happens when I use the 'eraser' but NOT ALWAYS. Is there a Fix or will downloading a new version correct the problem?
View 9 Replies View RelatedSay I have a keyword "parent" and a nested keyword (subtag) "child" under that keyword. Some photos are tagged with "parent", other are (only) tagged with "child".
Is it now possible to view all photos tagged "parent", but not see the "child" photos at the same time? Either using the keyword list or text filter, I always get to see the "child" photos also...
I know I can exclude certain keywords when searching (ie. "parent !child"), but in my case I'm having about 20 child tags, so it's not very practical to write all 20 keywords as exclusions.
