View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery time I open a RAW file in CS6 (at 16-bit depth) it crashes, so I am unable to open RAW files after editing in Camera Raw. The RAW files open OK in Camera Raw and I can edit them, but then opening them from Camera Raw into Photoshop (by clicking on Open Image) causes a crash.
Further background: I also had CS3 (the entire suite concurrently) installed. Thinking that might be a problem, I removed all of CS3 using the Adobe Uninstaller tool to see if that would work. Then I re-installed Photoshop CS6 from scratch and then downloaded and installed all updates.
CS6 still crashes every time I open a RAW file if I open it as 16-bit. If I open a .DNG file directly from Photshop (without using Camera Raw), that crashes too. I'm opening them into Photoshop using Adobe RGB (1998), 16-bit, 3456 x 5184 (17.9 MP), 300DPI.
Thinking it might be a memory issue, I checked free RAM using Activity Monitor and I see it has 3.4 GB free with both CS6 and Bridge open, which should be plenty. However I do see by looking in the crash report from the system log (portion included below), that it appears the crash may have resulted from a failed MALLOC (memory allocation).
Here's the kicker: oddly, when I open the file up in Photoshop at 8-bit depth, it works fine.
Details:
Software and Hardware versions:
Photoshop CS6 Extended (13.0.4 x64)
Camera Raw 7.3
Bridge CS6 (5.0.2.4)
Mac OS X 10.8.2 (Mountain Lion)
8 GB RAM 27" iMac with 2.66 Ghz Intel Core i5
ATI Radeon HD 4850 graphics card with 512 MB RAM
1 Terabyte HD with 750GB free
Canon EOS Rebel T3i
Canon EF75-300mm f/4-5.6 Lense

I am running 2.8 with Windows 7 64 bit. This just started today. I had done a picture, then closed out gimp. When I reopened it, I could no longer open files in Gimp. I can start gimp, then click on open files, and scroll through the files, and as soon as I select one, it whites out and says Gimp has stopped responding. I uninstalled and reinstalled the program, same issue. I tried jpeg, png, and xfc files, none will load.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWindows 7 SP1, Illustrator CS6.The end users spends 7 hours of their 8 hours in Illustrator. As part of the job, they have to have over 40 different files open at the same time because they are working on several jobs at the same time as well as working forward. So the answer is not "they have to close some files". This, unfortunately, is not an option. We recently upgraded them to CS6. They said that version CS5 was fine and didn't crash like this. But Illustrator CS6 crashes on them, closes itself, and obviously they lose all unsaved changes (saving the changes isn't a choice either, because the files are shared and have to stay original). The only modification we've done to the program is to UNcheck "Append" in the preferences. This happens on all 3 computers for all 3 users, so I don't believe it to be end-user related. Any way to get Illustrator to stop crashing? Is there a specific limit on the number of files that can be open?
View 4 Replies View RelatedLuckily it still hasn't happened when the save as dialog box is open, but it's rather annoying when searching for a file in the open dialog box and the search takes more than 30 seconds. Crash. Also, it seems it only happens about 90% of the time. I've updated everything + drivers are good. (I use Windows 7 Home Premium on a Asus N53SN with 16gb RAM.)

Everytime I open photoshop to edit a simple photo it crashes. Almost as soon as I press clone tool or any other tool it crashes. Its not my computer, or the space on my computer or my video drives. I was going to uninstall then re-install but I am scared because I have the CD but not my serial number.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a Canon S100 and just started importing photos and video into my LR 4.3 catalog. I convert RAW to DNG, and the Capture Time on the photos in LR is correct. However, the video Capture Time is shifted forward exactly 8 hours. I know how to correct the video Capture Time, but is there anything I can do to stop this from happening in the first place? I looked at what the metadata looks like in Bridge.
PHOTO:
Date Created = Correct Capture Time
Date File Modified = The time I imported the file into LR.
VIDEO:
Date Created = Capture Time + 8 hours
Date File Modified = Correct Capture Time
I'm using LR 2.6 on a Mac running 10.7.4 (Lion).
The program keeps crashing/closing ( not freezing in screen) when I try to change the destination folder when importing.
i've not encountered tis problem before. It's just appeared since my upgrade to Lion.
It occurs regardless of the camera being used (or import from external HD). If I import to the currently selected folder everything works fine. And all editing functionality seems normal when working with images currenly in my LR library.
The crash occurs when selecting the destination folder and hitting "choose". That is to say it's before hitting the final "import button", and is definitely triggered by choosing the alternate folder.
Every time I try to import photos, lightroom freezes, then crashes.

View 2 Replies View Relatedfinally deduced it was when I clicked a video for flagging. I removed the videos from the catalog but that defeats the purpose. I tried the ui.dll and did rename the ui.dll.old file. I unstalled and reinstalled LR5 and update to 5.3. Its working now but like I said I removed the video.
issue was when I put in the ui.dll then LR would not even open up so effectively I did not do the ui.dll because I couldnt,. I did it successfully for lr3 when I had the edit/flagging crashes without issue this is weird.
Why isn't there support for making a time lapse video from a sequence of stills? Perhaps with some motion effects like zoom and pan. im amazed that this is not in lightroom.
View 5 Replies View Relatedwhy is it that my videos are located at the end of a reel when sorted? when the pictures and videos are imported into LR, the import sort is perfect, but when i nav to the folders the sort places all the videos at the end of the day's captures.

The video loads fine, I can see the thumbnail, but when I hit play I hear audio for a few seconds, the video doesn't typically play or plays for only 1 second then the app crashes. Video files play fine in quicktime or Windows media. This happened in 4.3 as well so not related to the upgrade to 4.4. Here is what is logged in the Windows error log.

When I import photos and video using lightroom, I rename all my files based on date and time using a YYYYMMDD_HHMMSS format. For example:
This works perfectly for photos. That is, the (LR renamed) filename reflects the time the photos was taken (I suppose this is the "capture time"). However, the video time is totally wrong. For example, a video taken at 7PM gets renamed to something corresponding to 1AM.
I notice the following:
- Date/time based renaming of this particular iPhone 4S video works properly in other applications (e.g. Dropbox and PhotoMechanic)
- The resultant filename in LR4 appears to correlate to "Date Time Digitized", which in my case does not reflect when the video was actually taken (I'm not sure if it should or not, I'm only saying that it does not).
Is this expected behavior from LR4?
The behavior I'm seeing means that I have to use yet another application (e.g. PhotoMechanic or other) on the front-end of my workflow (before LR) in order to ensure video files are named "correctly". This is obviously not the desired solution, I'd prefer to do the renaming inside LR at the time of import since it provides a function for precisely this purpose.
LR 4.6 shows wrong Date (1988-02-07) and time after importing. Explorer shows the exact date and time of craeting the file. File type is MOV, camera Leica M (240).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am running Lightroom 5.3 and a fairly fresh install of Windows 8.1 / 64 bit. It works perfectly when I use my local machine, but when I access Lightroom over Microsoft Remote Desktop from another computer, as soon as I try to open a video, Lightroom crashes.
I have tried reinstalling, rebuildin library, etc. But, it still crashes every time. I'm pretty sure this is a bug with the software.
I use remote desktop for most of my lbrary management and it's really frustrating when it crashes all the time (note that it will crash often just if I go to to the video folder, even if I don't try to play one!)
Video files from an iPhone 4S (5.1.1) are transferred onto my Mac (this story is true under 10.7.4 and under 10.8) via PhotoSync. In Finder, the files reflect the correct creation date. On importing the files to Aperture, the correct capture time and date is shown in the metadata. On importing the files to Lightroom 4.1, however, the capture time shows as plus-five hours from when actually shot. I can't think of any setting I might have tripped in Lr to cause this to happen on import (I understand how to manually change the capture time).

Sometimes it works but very rarely!. I have reloaded X5 three times.
CS3 PS
-XP64
-16 bit files (not sure about others)
-smear brush - after a few strokes PS quits with no defined error message
-various other brush tools do the same
-use of some filters cause same problem
-tablet software removed - problem the same
-preferences reset (makes no difference)
demo of final version is no better than the prior beta - namely 'unusable' except as a pretty feature preview
is it worth spending money on this upgrade?
