Mar 8, 2013Every time I open a RAW file in CS6 (at 16-bit depth) it crashes, so I am unable to open RAW files after editing in Camera Raw. The RAW files open OK in Camera Raw and I can edit them, but then opening them from Camera Raw into Photoshop (by clicking on Open Image) causes a crash.
Further background: I also had CS3 (the entire suite concurrently) installed. Thinking that might be a problem, I removed all of CS3 using the Adobe Uninstaller tool to see if that would work. Then I re-installed Photoshop CS6 from scratch and then downloaded and installed all updates.
CS6 still crashes every time I open a RAW file if I open it as 16-bit. If I open a .DNG file directly from Photshop (without using Camera Raw), that crashes too. I'm opening them into Photoshop using Adobe RGB (1998), 16-bit, 3456 x 5184 (17.9 MP), 300DPI.
Thinking it might be a memory issue, I checked free RAM using Activity Monitor and I see it has 3.4 GB free with both CS6 and Bridge open, which should be plenty. However I do see by looking in the crash report from the system log (portion included below), that it appears the crash may have resulted from a failed MALLOC (memory allocation).
Here's the kicker: oddly, when I open the file up in Photoshop at 8-bit depth, it works fine.

GIMP :: Crashes Every Time Try To Open A File?
Sep 4, 2013I am running 2.8 with Windows 7 64 bit. This just started today. I had done a picture, then closed out gimp. When I reopened it, I could no longer open files in Gimp. I can start gimp, then click on open files, and scroll through the files, and as soon as I select one, it whites out and says Gimp has stopped responding. I uninstalled and reinstalled the program, same issue. I tried jpeg, png, and xfc files, none will load.

Feb 12, 2013Windows 7 SP1, Illustrator CS6.The end users spends 7 hours of their 8 hours in Illustrator. As part of the job, they have to have over 40 different files open at the same time because they are working on several jobs at the same time as well as working forward. So the answer is not "they have to close some files". This, unfortunately, is not an option. We recently upgraded them to CS6. They said that version CS5 was fine and didn't crash like this. But Illustrator CS6 crashes on them, closes itself, and obviously they lose all unsaved changes (saving the changes isn't a choice either, because the files are shared and have to stay original).The only modification we've done to the program is to UNcheck "Append" in the preferences.This happens on all 3 computers for all 3 users, so I don't believe it to be end-user related. Any way to get Illustrator to stop crashing?Is there a specific limit on the number of files that can be open?

Lightroom :: 5 - Crashes Opening Develop Module
Sep 19, 2013Running LR 5 under Win 7 Ultimate. System has been stable for ages now suddenly whenever I enter the develop module I get a crash with the hint that CameraRAW.dll is to blame. Updated to v5.2, same results. Tried old v4.4, again same crash. All other modules are working fine, just can't enter develop. We have tried reinstalling and changing monitor configurations all to no avail.

Oct 18, 2012I'm having problems with lightroom 4.2 crashing in develop when using two monitors. I cant seem to make it crash in any other module with both monitors active, or make it crash in develop with only one monitor. I have tried updating all drivers (graphics etc) along with uninstalling wacom tablet driver which I read somewhere could have an effect. My system is:
WIndow 7 pro 64 bit
nVidia GTX 285 1gb graphics card
Gigabyte GA-EX58-Extreme motherboard
12gb Corsair memory
Core i7 975 Extreme processor
Have also tried clean install with just lightroom and cs6 but to no avail.
Lightroom :: Copy / Paste Settings In Develop Module Never Works First Time
Mar 12, 2012Only just noticed this one since upgrading from LR4 Beta to LR4. First session developing a few shots taken over the weekend (.CR2 RAW files). When I only have a few shots, all taken in the same environment, I tend to just get the first one right and then Copy the Develop settings, and paste them onto each subsequent shot.
What happens on my 64 bit Windows 7 box - the first time I paste the settings to any shot, I get the task bar appear at the top right, which after a brief time changes to 'task completed' - but no settings have been pasted. If I then paste the settings it works the second time.
Lightroom :: Title And Time / Date Appearing Over Photo In Develop Or Library Screens?
Jan 7, 2013I must have done this when I was trying to do some other keyboard shortcut and got the wrong one - and now I can't figure out how to get rid of it. But a few weeks ago, I did something and now the file name, date/time and image size appear in white text over the top-left of any photo I have in the Develop or Library screens:
So you can see "_MG_0955.CR2" and the other details in the clouds there. How to get rid of that? I can't find anything in any of the menus. I'm on Lightroom 4.3 for Mac OSX Mountain Lion.

Jun 17, 2013Every single time I activate the Adjustment Brush, Mask, and Filter tools, they activate with the "Iris Enhance" preset active. So when I start editing the first thing I have to do is reset the tools to zero every. single. time. Yes a double-click isn't that big a deal, but LR4 did not do this. I have not changed any settings since going to LR5 and I can't stand this issue anymore.When I use these tools, the adjustments I'm making are highlights, shadows, noise, clarity, etc. Individual sliders. So why does "Iris Enhance" keep turning on when never even touch the effects? In LR4, after finishing an edit with a brush, mask, etc., I would press the Enter key and it would switch to a "new" brush/mask. At that point, the Effect would automatically switch back to Default. How can I make LR5 do this? I want it to jump back to default slider settings after every time I press Enter.

Dec 10, 2012Why does an image that has been altered by Lightroom cause the RAW Converter to open when trying to view it in Photoshop. Perhaps this might work; if I import, enhance and convert a RAW image in Lightroom to a jepg image it will open in Photoshop without issue. However if I then alter the jpeg image in Lightroom, update the Metadata and try to view it in Photoshop it cause the Photoshop's RAW Converter to open. Is the alter image's information held in a side car file (xmp) that can'r be read by Photoshop? If so would I need to re-export, (convert), the image again in Lightroom to embedd the changes thus making sure it could be read by all the various programs that are available to view images. As is I send photographs to newspapers and print houses it is important for me to know if they would be receiving fully adjusted images or only the adjustments that were made prior to converting from RAW to jpeg. Just in case...I am new to Lightroom.

Dec 11, 2012I installed a trial version of Pro X5 with Windows 7. Almost every time I try to capture video it crashes.
Camera is a Sony HDR-HC5E. The only format I am offered is MPEG. Sometimes it begins to capture, other times there is no picture on screen and nothing is captured, most times I get a NOT RESPONDING warning and Video Studio just freezes. Sometimes it works but very rarely!. I have reloaded X5 three times.

-smear brush - after a few strokes PS quits with no defined error message
-various other brush tools do the same
-use of some filters cause same problem
-tablet software removed - problem the same
-preferences reset (makes no difference)
demo of final version is no better than the prior beta - namely 'unusable' except as a pretty feature preview
is it worth spending money on this upgrade?
Premiere Pro :: Warp Stabilizer Freezes Every Single Time - Doesn't Work
Jan 17, 2014I just downloaed the Premier Pro CC 30 day trial. I edited some nice video and was strongly considering adding this to my Photoshop/Lightroom subscription. However, warp stabilzer has not worked once for me. Even on clips as short as 6 seconds.
What happens is that when I drag "warp stabilzer" over a clip it analyzes the clip showing a blue banner stating "step 1 analyzing". Then after a short wait an orange banner appears and states "Stabilizing". Thats when the process stops. It stays locked in that orange banner stabilzing position permanently. I waited 3 hours for a 6 second clip and it still said "stabilizing".
Obviously something is drastically wrong. Had it not been for that I would have probably signed up for a subscription to Premium Pro CC.
I'm on a Windows 7 Pro, i7, 12 gigs of ram setup. Seperate scratch disk used also. Everything else on Premium Pro CC seems to work fine. I don't understand why warp stabilizer doesn't.

I cleaned up temp folders, run disk cleaner in windows, run CCleaner and other utils.I also deleted all registry entries to VS X4 i could find, reinstalled VS X4 with SP1, but same problem.
