Lightroom :: XMP Import / Export For MOV / MTS Or MP4 Files Not Supported
Mar 17, 2012I have been evalutating LR4 and am stuck on how to import my files from another DAM into LR4.
I am able to write XMP into JPG files, and provide sidecar XMP files for RAW (CR2) and MOV/MP4/MTS files, writing my hierarchical keyword information into the xmp-dc:Subject and xmp-lr:HierarchicalSubject fields.
LR4 seems to read the XMP keywords from the JPG and RAW files just fine and re-creates my keyword hierarchy.
LR4 seems to ignore on import the XMP for the non-image files such as the MOV/MP4/MTS files for which I have provided sidecar files.
LR4 also does not write out XMP files for the non-image files, when I use save Medatada.
Does LR4 just ignore import/writing XMP for these non-image files?
Lightroom :: 5.3 Hanging / Freezing On Import And Export Of Files
Mar 8, 2014For the past week, my LR5.3 has been hanging when I am importing pictures, adding pictures to the Library or Exporting timelapse. Does caching directory have anything to do with it? is there a way to test the issue?

Dec 8, 2010I'm having a problem with the transform of my model every time I import/export through maya and mudbox.
Basically every time I import a mesh from maya into mudbox then export to maya and back my mesh is shown smaller on the grid, I've done everything I can think of in Maya before exporting by centering the pivot, freezing transform, and deleting all history, but I still get the same result and my mesh just gets smaller and smaller?? I've also tried resizing it as well and get the same result.
I'm using maya 6.5 and mudbox 2011.
VideoStudio :: X5 - Video Files Too Large / Import Takes Long Time
Jan 16, 2013I recently downloaded the trial version of VSP X5. And now, I have a new 12 MP camera as opposed to the 5 MP I had before. Anyway this new camera shoots in video mode at 1920, 1280 and 640. When I use 1920 or 1280 (HD), the file size of the videos are huge, so when I import them to VSP, they take a very long time to import. Is this normal when you want high res videos or is there something I can do to cut down on the file size. To test it out, I shot 20 second videos at all three resolutions. In 1920, the file size was almost a whole gig at only 20 seconds. It would be much larger than that for lets say a 20 minute movie. I'm guessing that would take all day to import.
Correction: Actually, It's taking long to "Create a Video File", not to import the video. Anyway, is it normal for the program to take so long to create a file? if it's a 15 or 20 minute video, it will probaly take at least a couple of hours to create at that resolution.
Lightroom :: Won't Export More Than One Image At The Time
Jun 30, 2013I am having trouble exporting my RAW files as JPEG files. At first Lightroom 4.4 seemed to skip certain photos when exporting and now I'm unable to export more than one image at the time. How can I fix this? I didn't seem to have this problem before the 4.4 update, but then again, the 4.4 update has been running for a few days now. I run on a 32bit Windows 7 with 4GB of RAM.
Lightroom has also been a considerable lot slower since the last couple of days, yet there have been no changes at all to my computer or system or anything - nothing's changed expect for the fact that Lightroom isn't behaving as it used to.

Oct 18, 2012Is there a way to export multiple layout tabs to create individual CAD files at one time? I have a CAD file with 80 layout tabs. All the Drafting work was done on Paper Space of the Layout Tabs. Client wants 80 separate CAD files.
I tried right clicking on the layout tab but it will ONLY allow me to export one tab at a time.
Lightroom :: Capture Time In Import Dialog?
Aug 16, 2012Is there anyway possible to view capture time instead of filename on the thumbnails in the import dialog?
In the normal gridview it is possible to change to a lot of diffrent info so it would be great if I could do the same thing in gridview in import dialog.
The info is there since I can hover to se the date but it would be a lot faster if it could be visible directly.
Lightroom :: Export Some Photos - Edited Time Changed?
May 3, 2012I have a little problem with Adobe Lightroom 4. I just started using the program and it was all workin well. I do a lot of editing through the "develop" section. Anyways, I started to export some of the photos (made them be re named to edit# according to the original number of the photo) and I found that now the "last edited" on my exported pictures said 2014/04/09. Why has the edited time changed?

Jan 16, 2014So I just recently purchased Lightroom 5.3 and installed it on a brand new clean install of Windows 7. When I attempt to import RAW files into LR from a secondary hard drive, Lightroom just stalls out for five to ten minutes. Eventually, if I wait long enough, the Import dialogue screen loads and I get to wait another five to ten minutes to choose my secondary drive with my RAW files on it. When I can select that drive and click the directory with my files, I get to wait ANOTHER five to ten minutes for it to accept that choice and load my photos into the Import window. Once I get past all that and hit the Import button, it actually loads the files into LR just fine and I can work as normal. I have never had this issue with this specific drive when I had Lightroom 3 and 4, so I don't know why suddenly LR 5 would not like it.

Even though I've imported some photos from the memory card, when I do another Import, all of the photos have been checked for importing including already Imported ones even though I have the "Don't Import Suspected Duplicates" option checked. Aug 3, 2013I'm using Lightroom 5.2RC. My camera is Sony RX100M2.
Everything was working fine until a few hours ago. Then I noticed that a few shots I took late this evening were being imported into yesterday's folder. So I carefully checked what was going on, and noticed that LR import was seeing an incorrect date and time for the file! For example, below you see the date/time it sees for the first image -- that date/time is wrong.
: LR sees the wrong date/time whether I try to import from camera, from SD card in card slot, or WiFi.
Windows Explorer reads the correct date/time of the files, as does the camera, Playmemories etc. Only Lightroom is seeing a wrong date/time. I even uninstalled LR and reinstalled it, and it's still seeing the wrong date/time in import. I have also formatted my card and took new photos, but same behavior.

Mar 30, 2013I tried to edit the capture time on NEF files. I set -5 hours in "Metadata" > "Edit Capture Time", selected "Write date or time changes into proprietary raw files" and clicked "Save to Metadata" but the file does not change. There is just a new XMP file created, but i would like to edit this in raw files.
When I tried the above steps witha JPEG file everything works fine, but also when I try to change capture time on files, which exists in JPEG and NEF, neither the JPEG nor the NEF changes. Only the XMP.
It's the same problem like this, but even there is no answer:[URL].....
I run Lightroom 4.3 on Windows 7.

Oct 26, 2012This seems to have been a problem with previous lightrooms and thought it may have been fixed in LR4 but I can't seem to find the option?
What I have a gripe with is why when I am exporting my editied raws into what ever jpeg format I want (highres low res etc) I put these in a folder with in the orgional raws parent folder and call it "02 - High_Res" for example. To then get this to show in the lightroom folder structure you then have to 'sync' the folder. Is there a way to have this done automatically? Is there a way I can just get it to appear with out syncing?

This allows the photo and state to exist outside Lightroom or later be moved to a different catalog or different machine without the need to export/import catalogs themselves. It would also assist in rebuilding a catalog from scratch if the catalog were damaged but the underlying files were not.

Apr 17, 2012I have images that I export as a catalog from my notebook and external drive to my desktop . Did this all the time before the release candidate 4.1 without a hint of problems. With 4.1, it crashes 90% of the time....average export/import of a catalog I am running is about 3000 images. What is particularly wierd is that it crashes on multiples of 500. Normally first crash is at 500, the next at 1000 or 1500 and so forth.
