I'm using Coral Draw X5 and Sign Cut Pro with a Vinyl plotter and Im trying to import files into X5 and export them to Sign Cut. Which file formats should should I be using?
View 14 RepliesRecently purchased a new plotter thats 32 bit. Problem is, my Win 7 is 64 bit, holy smokes! so the two wont work together.I cannot even download the plotters installation process. Was told that Corel Draw can bridge the two correctly so I am leaving Letter Art and joining the Corel Draw family. I have a few questions concerning this matter. First, can Corel actually bridge these two? Second, Letter Art saves their files as gnt, showing up in My Documents as sym (go figure) so knowing that Corel can import all types of files, can they import pcx, sym and/ or gnt as well?

We don't use 3D commands at all and are looking into purchasing the LT version for budgeting reasons. What we are trying to find out now is if you can export and import SHP files from GIS ESRI software. Are you able to edit the SHP files if necessary?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been evalutating LR4 and am stuck on how to import my files from another DAM into LR4.
I am able to write XMP into JPG files, and provide sidecar XMP files for RAW (CR2) and MOV/MP4/MTS files, writing my hierarchical keyword information into the xmp-dc:Subject and xmp-lr:HierarchicalSubject fields.
LR4 seems to read the XMP keywords from the JPG and RAW files just fine and re-creates my keyword hierarchy.
LR4 seems to ignore on import the XMP for the non-image files such as the MOV/MP4/MTS files for which I have provided sidecar files.
LR4 also does not write out XMP files for the non-image files, when I use save Medatada.
Does LR4 just ignore import/writing XMP for these non-image files?
For the past week, my LR5.3 has been hanging when I am importing pictures, adding pictures to the Library or Exporting timelapse. Does caching directory have anything to do with it? is there a way to test the issue?

View 4 Replies View Relatedwe use CorelDraw X5 to make cartographies on building plans with several layers of - mostly - polylines drawings (one layer = one building material type or one weathering form type) and we must give them back to architects who use AutoCAD.
We already tried several times to export the .cdr to .dxf or .dwg files, but till now, the architect seems to be able to open the files, but our cartographie is quite illegible: only some parts of the layers are visible and it seems that some layers are not visible at all...
I was asked to make a big banner 525cm x 250cm. After completing it in few minutes I tried publishing it to pdf but i constantly get an empty white pdf file.After few tests i figured out that I can correctly publish any file that is smaller than 500cm but anything above gives me an empty pdf.
Have you faced any similar problems?
This is very troubling. I work with Autocad files, currently Acad 2010 is being used in the office.
I'm trying to import a siteplan for coloring, and I can't get the darn thing into X5. I import as a .pdf (created from Autocad) and I get a "file is corrupt" error. I'm used to that in X3, with Adobe upgrading the .pdf standard, but X5 should be able to read these files, right? This is the solution I'd prefer as it would be a one-step process, all lineweights and text spacing, etc. shouldn't change from the original file. At least one would think so.
If I import as a .dwg or .dxf, I get the expected dialogs, but after the font-matching dialog, CorelDraw shuts down with no explanation! Poof! I've gone back 15 years saved the .dxf as release 14 and still, poof!
I'm going to have to use X3 until this gets resolved...
When I press the "sign in" button, either from the menu or icon in the lower right hand of the main screen, nothing happens. Normally a dialog box would open and allow one to login, but not the case for me any more.

Manual sign in through Help/bottom-right icon doesn't do anything. Though I can sign in to my account through Help-Account Settings. Tried closing/relaunching X6, even restarting my computer to no success.

If I try to open it or import it into Corel X5, X5 crashes. I send off a WER to Corel hopefully (it says it sends it but one never knows for sure.)
My system Win XP (32 bit, SP3), 3.5GB of RAM, 500+GB free hard drive space..Corel X5 - I am pretty sure it has SP2 applied it calls it self 10.2.0.661 in the About menu.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just noticed that there was a specific help option in DRAW X3 for issues re Office suite programs, and therein was the claim that it is possible to easily import files from MS Office apps. Having had little luck in the past attempting to do this, I was skeptical. So far, all I get are msgs to the effect that this format file cannot be imported using the available filter. I'm just assuming that this means that perhaps doc files can be imported, but not docx... Is there a fix for this? The company is planning on buying X6 soon. Does it support docx imports?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI had a road map drawing in Draw X3, mostly lines and text, and used to export to pdf for smartfphone compatibility, getting typically an adequate quality 204 kB file using "export for editing" export setting. After upgrading to Draw X5 the same file gives a 1508 kB pdf file which is too large. If the export setting is turned back to "web" I get a small 40 kB file but the quality is not so good. How do I compromise between "web" and "edit" settings for exporting to pdf.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I export a jpg file from my laptop with windows 7, the file has a lock on it. I don't have the drawing locked but the file shows up locked when I try to email or view and the clarity of the jpg is fuzzy. I don't have this problem when working on my computer with windows xp. Also when the jpg is locked, it does not read on my mobile phone. What do I have set wrong?
Also on my XP computer when exporting the page is black but exports fine. I would rather see the file I am exporting, I have looked at all the settings but don't see why this is happening.

When importing .svg files into draw and illustrator the size of the objects is different. The svg files have been created with a dpi=72. Illustrator reads the file at that dpi so objects are the correct size. Draw appears to read the files with a dpi=96 which scales the objects down to 3/4 actual size.
Any SVG attribute that can set the dpi so that both programs import correctly Or is there a way to tell Draw to use a dpi=72?
Trying to import an SVG file from this Wikipedia page I noticed that the text of the Brasilian flag does not get imported correctly by CorelDRAW X6.

I pay for seriously expecting Corel staff members to not just read in here but to fix Corel programs' problems I report.But they do nothing.
I just purchased and installed X5 on my Win 7 Pro system. I work with large files (8-10MB) using multiple OLE linked CDR files and bitmaps. When I export to PDF using the built-in exporter, most of the OLE files do not print and the ones that do are corrupted. I have made a work around using doPDF V7, but believe this should work out of the box.

But then I get this error: "This program cannot display the webpage. Most likely causes:You are not connected to the Internet. The website is encountering problems. There might be a typing error in the address"
But I am connected to internet. If I click on Account settings it works. The main problem that I have is that for any updates I need to Sign in but I get the same error!
I am trying to make chaser lights on a sign look like they are flashing in sequence. (Like the arrwos you see on the botom of signs) There are 4 seperate drawings with the only changess being in the lights. I've been reading the book and watching the videos but it's still over my head.
