View 9 Replies View RelatedI am often photomerging large sets of RAW images (8 to up 30 images at a time). Yesterday, I photomerged 25 images (each image is about 14MB) together. Before the photomerge ran, I had 35 GB HD space available. After the Photomerge finished and after saving it, I had 8 GB of HD space left. The saved image was about 880 MB total. Thinking the space would be recovered after I quit Photoshop and emptied the trash, I only had 27 GB of HD.
Therefore, Where did my 8 GB of HD space go? 35 GB to 27 GB, having saved a file that is 880MB. After restarting my computer and verifying the trash was emptied, my HD space was still at 27 GB.
When I download images from my DSLR to my Mac, the images are cached by Bridge. As they are cached, I can watch the amount of "Inactive" system memory increase in Mac OS's Activity Monitor utility. If I download 8 GB of images, 8 GB of "Free" memory is assigned to inactive memory.
When I close Bridge this memory does not convert back over to free memory, but remains allocated as inactive. Combined with "wired" and "active" memory, I eventually run low of free memory while running other apps, slowing down my system. As much as 2/3 of my 16 GB total memory can be allocated as inactive. To convert this inactive memory back to free memory, I must restart my Mac. When I launch Bridge and other apps again, inactive memory appears normal in Activity Monitor at around 125 MB, and usually remains under 2 GB depending on what apps and files I work with.
Is this memory usage by Bridge after downloading images normal or do I have a problem?.
I just updated to CS 2 from PS7. I am running a 2 Ghz Pentium 4 with 512 MB of Ram. Windows XP.
My problem is that when you start CS 2 it starts to eat away the virtual memory like crazy, eventually causing the system to hang.
My scratch disk is on a separate physical drive from the OS. I also reset the pref file to no avail. Does any one have any suggestions or seen this type of behavior?
I have 106 files that I have to save as version 2004 for a contractor. They have been able to open all of the converted files except one. I have run an audit and found nothing. I have purged everything and still no luck.

I've recently switched from 2008 to 2010 and am wondering if that has anything to do with it as I had no problems in the past? While the tif file is large, it always plotted in 2008.

2: If I upgrade to 2014 or 2013 will I have the option to back save to 2008?

Also, from time to time we get the crash when editing MText.
I have been using my autocad for a few days now and it appears that the program is not operating properly. I am missing toolbars and ribbons. Is this an issue with the trial version, or is there a registry trick to unhide the ribbons?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm doing a program in Visual Basic 2010. In one of the forms I put a button that when clicked must open AutoCAD 2012 and make a drawing in it. The user will decide where to save it.The steps are these:
1. I added the references Autodesk.AutoCAD.Interop and Autodesk.AutoCAD.Interop.Common to the Visual Basic Project. That's OK.
2. I wrote this in the heading of the form's
- Imports Autodesk.AutoCAD.Interop
-Imports Autodesk.AutoCAD.Interop.Common
3. In the event Click of the Button1 I put this:
Dim acadApp As New AcadApplication 'Create an instance of an AutoCAD Application
AcadApp.Application.Visible = True 'Show the instance of the AutoCAD Application
Dim acadDoc As AcadDocument 'Create an intance of an AutoCAD Document
acadDoc = acadApp.Documents.Open("C:Respaldo TesisDibujo2.dwg") 'Open a Document called Dibujo 2

I manually recreated them in the new version by typing in the commands from ver 2000. As I expected I am getting errors when I try to run these macros in Ver 2012. The mlayer command, for example, does not work. I am pretty sure I need to use the -layer command and have tried this but I still get errors. While I am relatively proficient in ver 2000 I am having some trouble finding commands in ver 2012 that match the old version. Below is an example of a macro from ver 2000 as well as my attempt to rewrite it in ver 2012.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThis is what is happening,
for example, i have a layer for dimenisioning called, 'DIM.' I'm not sure when it happens but AutoCad creates new layers that are called: DIM @ 12, DIM @16, DIM @ 18, DIM @ 128....It does this for different layers as well. There must be some significance of Autocad adding a @ # at the end of the layers name.
It then changes certain blocks from the regular layer, to these new ones. It doesn't affect any block consistently. So one block 'A' is changed to the new layers, but the other block 'A' is not changed.
The only thing I did differently for this drawing set was used dxfout/dxfin to purge dgn files out of my drawing, any possible connection there?
