Im working with a clients file and being told Im missing some fonts. There is text ALL OVER this thing and it will be a major headache to see where the font problems are located. When I open a file like this in InDesign where a font is mssing, its highlighted in large pink boxes that stand out real easy. Does Illustrator have a similar feature?
View 6 RepliesI am finding missing fonts when I publish a PDF document from InDesign CC file.I tried to install the custom fonts in my system, but the installation is not getting completed.
I am using the fonts like, Akzidenz-Grotesk and Helvetica family fonts.
The Illustrator and InDesign CC versions cannot read my fonts in Suitcase Fushion 3. Is there any solutions?

After exporting a pdf from indesign (high quality settings), pdf looks fine on screen and in print preview but printout misses 2 lines of text for no apparent reason.
Document also prints fine direct from indesign.
Have tried various fonts (including standard ones) with no change.
Searched for a new driver for my printer but the last update was for OS 10.5.
I am having an issue with the lastest version of illustrator! When I try to highlight the text on the path. It goes it this diagonal/slanted direction so it looks like I'm not highlight the text at all. But it works fine, if I use the regular type too, I search forums for this such clicking the ctrl+H on my laptopt and this happens on my computer as well. The ctrl+H command did not work..

As a result, I cannot find a way to change the vertical spacing. What must I do? I know a solution, but it is VERY LONG and difficult, there must be a simple solution.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIllustrator CS5 and CS6 (and previous versions) came with a set of core fonts, e.g. Myriad Pro, included upon install.
I uninstalled Illustrator CS6 (and all other CS6 products) before installing Illustrator CC, but none of the fonts were included, so in Illustrator I have no MyriadPro (the font appears in the font list, but has an asterisk next to it to indicate a subsitution is being made). Are these fonts no longer included?
Okay - fixed. A restart later and the fonts are there. They must be registered with Windows on restart, which is an odd way of doing it as there's no requirement that the computer be restarted between font installations.
Is there a way to get the dimension text to highlight along with the actual dimensions, without having to directly select it after pulling a dimension off of an object? CAD Tools 7 automatically highlighted it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedNormally I'd place the PDF into Illustrator and use 'Flatten Transparency' with the 'Convert Fonts To Outlines' option to create vectors for the missing fonts. However this particular PDF file seems to have been saved with the 'Preserve Illustrator Editing' setting, so when I place it into Illustrator the illustrator data is read and I get live artwork - with the fonts replaced - instead of something I can work with, meaning that I can't replicate the type I need.
I've tried importing the PDF into inDesign and resaving as a new PDF - but Illustrator is not fooled by this clumsy and desparate ruse, and again treats the file as editable artwork with the missing fonts replaced.
How can I force Illustrator to ignore the editable capabilities of the file and just convert the fonts to outlines?
Is there an easy way to see what fonts are used in a X5 file without having to highlight each one? When I open windows > right click > properties > details, it tells me the first couple but I can't see them all.

View 5 Replies View RelatedIn our workflow, we have a few users who are doing design work on Windows installations of IinDesign CS6 (2 in WIndows 7 and 2 in Windows 8). On all four systems, we have noticed that when we open files from packaged folders that contain the Document Fonts folder, that InDesign slows to an excrutiating crawl, which makes working on the document near impossible. We've narrowed down this behavior to the AdobeFnt14.lst file that seems to be a result of InDesign opening the file using the fonts in that folder without being told to. Deleting that file will temporarily fix the problem, but InDesign recreates it when you open the corresponding document and then you have to delete it again.
We use Universal Type Cient for our font manager, but as far as I know, we didn't install any font auto activation plugins.
Other than deleting the font folder, we've not been able to figure out how to stop ID from trying to automatically load the fonts. We'd love to just turn that "feature" off so that we don't have the hassle. I'd rather have fonts missing and turn them on using our font manager, than have ID slow to an impossible crawl whenever we open archived files. How to stop ID from automatically loading fonts from a document fonts folder?
I'm using InDesign CS 5. It's on a MacBook Pro runiing OS 10.9.1.
I have a document that was sent from a client. The client's doc was in ID CS 6. I have used the Find Font command to change ALL of the the fonts to one font, Alegreya Regular, an OpenType font from Google. I saved the doc and Quit ID CS 5.
When I copy and paste from the old document to the new one, the text appears as Futura. I have deleted all instances of Futura from the old file, and there are not any style sheets with Futura in the old file. Why does the supposedly-deleted formatting persist, and how can I get rid of it for real (and forever)?

View 3 Replies View RelatedTrying to do a piece with plain flat san-serif text on a spiral extruding into the distance with the center of the spiral as the vanishing point. When I do this, some extruded faces are created and others do not. Usually teh curved parts of the letters get extruded but the flat surfaces (like the flats sitting on the baseline) do not. Tried both as editable test and as outlines. Same surfaces were missing.
Tested with a much simpler version - 2 lines of text with returns between them so one line was near the top of hte page ans the other near the bottom so the extrusion would use the center of the page as the vanishing point. Similar result but different surfaces were missing.
I know the CS suite is not meant to be a 3d powerhouse but I realy don't have the time (or money) to learn Maya or Blender or similar. I'm decent at Google SketchUp but importing eps outlined into the Pro version yields thousands of unconnected segments. Might as well draw the text by hand at that point...

I have designed a movie clapboard as a logo for myself. When I export it as a JPG, my all my text is missing and my stroke lines look completely different than the original file.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I export a PDF from my InDesign doc I am missing letters "fi" and "ff", and some are appearing as a block x, in the eps files I have placed in the InDesign doc. I have tried several fixes such as turning off ligatures in the original eps and the InDesign doc. I also changed the setting in the PDF export window from subset font percent from 100% to 0%. But nothing fixes it and the error is still occurring?
View 13 Replies View RelatedA netwrok group policy has kicked in on my machine (which I have managed to evade for 2 years) and the recently opened items has stopped displaying. The recent items options in Preferences>File handling is also greyed out. The recently opened items in the Start menu>properties is greyed out too. I know its the policy that is the root cause.
The list does not generate at all, even while I am active in the program.
However, Illustrator and Photoshop are still recalling the recently opened files as they normally would. While I know they are all different programs this gives me hope that there is a slim chance I can find a work around? Maybe redirecting where the data is saved or somethign along those lines?
Running CS5.5 Master Collection, Windows 7.just to add there is nothing in the group policy that is specifically directed at Indesign as i am the only person that has it.
sometimes i open an Illustrator file with a missing image link. I have many image folders depending on the job and it would be great to be able to copy and paste the photo very long text to search for it in my HD.
