When I open a file using Indesign 5.5, it is absolutely perfect. When I drag it to Indesign CC, it tells me that there are fonts missing. Then I cannot update those fonts because they dont appear. My font management software (Suitcase Fusion) is completely up to date.
View 5 RepliesI have recently captured video (6 tapes each tape to a separate folder on disk and 'folder' within VS) from my VidCam (DV tape) and selected 'split by scene'. I was using VS9 as at the time I was having problems using Pro X4.
Every clip/scene captured for the first tape I captured to disk includes the first frame from the following clip. This only seems to have affected the first tape I captured.I will have to cut the last frame from each clip if I rearrange the order of the clips on the timeline.
How do you get more fonts for InDesign? What are some good websites for fonts?

How does my printer get access to the fonts? In the preflight they show "protected" and don't collect in the font folder.

I have recently downloaded CC and when i open the file the type is highlighted in pink and the error mentions it's a glyph issue. The font is installed correctly and works fine in illustrator.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIn our workflow, we have a few users who are doing design work on Windows installations of IinDesign CS6 (2 in WIndows 7 and 2 in Windows 8). On all four systems, we have noticed that when we open files from packaged folders that contain the Document Fonts folder, that InDesign slows to an excrutiating crawl, which makes working on the document near impossible. We've narrowed down this behavior to the AdobeFnt14.lst file that seems to be a result of InDesign opening the file using the fonts in that folder without being told to. Deleting that file will temporarily fix the problem, but InDesign recreates it when you open the corresponding document and then you have to delete it again.

We use Universal Type Cient for our font manager, but as far as I know, we didn't install any font auto activation plugins.

Other than deleting the font folder, we've not been able to figure out how to stop ID from trying to automatically load the fonts. We'd love to just turn that "feature" off so that we don't have the hassle. I'd rather have fonts missing and turn them on using our font manager, than have ID slow to an impossible crawl whenever we open archived files. How to stop ID from automatically loading fonts from a document fonts folder?
I'm using InDesign CS 5. It's on a MacBook Pro runiing OS 10.9.1.

I have a document that was sent from a client. The client's doc was in ID CS 6. I have used the Find Font command to change ALL of the the fonts to one font, Alegreya Regular, an OpenType font from Google. I saved the doc and Quit ID CS 5.

When I copy and paste from the old document to the new one, the text appears as Futura. I have deleted all instances of Futura from the old file, and there are not any style sheets with Futura in the old file. Why does the supposedly-deleted formatting persist, and how can I get rid of it for real (and forever)?
Im working with a clients file and being told Im missing some fonts. There is text ALL OVER this thing and it will be a major headache to see where the font problems are located. When I open a file like this in InDesign where a font is mssing, its highlighted in large pink boxes that stand out real easy. Does Illustrator have a similar feature?

At my previous job we did have problems with files becoming corrupted (inDesign in particular) when we used this editing method, so we were told to edit the files locally and then resave onto the server. However, at my new job, the IT department is a bit more savvy and I have yet to see many hiccups with our server. Other employees work directly off of the server and don't seem to have any real problems. What are the pros and cons to working directly off the server and working locally then resaving?

View 1 Replies View RelatedOne of the features I was really looking forward to in CS6 was creating fillable forms with ONE application. I created a form following the step by step instructions in classroom in a book for CS6. When I opened the exported form in Reader X, I get a "This operation is not permitted" error. I opened the completed "end" document in the lesson to make sure I didn't commit an error, and I got the same message when exporting. I have looked for places in menus to modify security restrictions and I can't find any. I installed the updates and that didn't solve the issue.

I saw one solution posted which is to open the document in Acrobat, then do a "save as" option.  Is there anything we can do that doesn't involve buying additional software? If this is not the case, then Adobe seriously needs to change its training and advertising about this functionality.

Notice the trace line does not symmetrically match the bitmap.I have tried all the trace types such as 'high fidelity photo' yet it still does not trace exactly on both sides of the symmetrical image.

I like to print 12 x 18 on 13 x 19 but a3 13 x 19 allows only 12.95 width. If I select my custom template 13 x 19 with .5 border it tells me i must use front loading, occasionally it has let me but most of the time i must print 11.95 x 18 making photos a little off center?
I am unable to perfectly center because print driver on canon pixma pro mk2 gives only a3 13 x 19 with a border, yet it takes 13 x 19 with driver setting.
i'm trying to align text perfectly into a rectangle (vertically). I know about the text box, but it either ads hyphens or there is a mialigned spacing on the right side.Â

I want it to be perfectly aligned on the left and right. I've attached an example from a site i found online, but its somewhat a poor execution, the word spacing varies through out the paragraph.

Corel says Athentech's Perfectly Clear plug-in comes with the Ultimate version of X6. I can't find it in the Plugins folder - either in the 64 or 32 bit versions. I ordered X6 and am currently using the trial version of X6.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am working with 16bit (Tiff) greyscale Heightmaps, images that displace geometry to create terrains.When I want to adjust the images I do it in one of several applications that return the Heightmaps with an altogether different range of levels (value of blacks and whites). However I have no way of matching the levels of the updated image to the original except to eyeball it using Levels. This is time consuming and hard to get right.
I tried changing the images to RGB and color matching them, which is kind of what I want to do, but it leaves me with stepping (similar to an 8bit image) because the range it is trying to match is so subtle I think. how to better use Levels to perfectly match (greyscale) images?
I want to have those colored lines perfectly aligned and spaced with the same width between them all.

But the problem is that this round end isn't the shape of a perfect circle.I included a picture to show my problem.The box has a width of 30mm and the chamfer amount is 15mm.I've put a cylinder on top of it with a radius of 15 to show that the chamfer isn't perfectly round.
