Jun 18, 2013Illustrator CS5 and CS6 (and previous versions) came with a set of core fonts, e.g. Myriad Pro, included upon install.
I uninstalled Illustrator CS6 (and all other CS6 products) before installing Illustrator CC, but none of the fonts were included, so in Illustrator I have no MyriadPro (the font appears in the font list, but has an asterisk next to it to indicate a subsitution is being made). Are these fonts no longer included?
Okay - fixed. A restart later and the fonts are there. They must be registered with Windows on restart, which is an odd way of doing it as there's no requirement that the computer be restarted between font installations.

My tower is making all these orgasmic sounds, but after a while it sounds like a scratched record making all the same sounds continuously. The gauge that shows me how far the download is proceeding seems to get stuck at the 25% mark.

CGSX5 on i3 PC, Win 7, 6G RAM.
The version that came with X4 worked in XP, but when I upgraded to Windows 7 it wouldn't install Type 1 fonts, and it wouldn't install any missing fonts when a file loaded. I buy Font Expert, though I never got it to work as well as the old FN.
But my new (trial) version of X5 has a version of the utility (v. 6.0.0, build 108) that seems to work just fine both ways. Thats a wonderful. When did this happen? There's a noticeable difference in the versions, according to xplorer2. X4's version:

I can no longer load X4's version; only v. 6.0.0 comes up, so I can't compare. But FN now works properly in X4, too, so Corel must have done something to address this. Cool.

Feb 1, 2013I've just installed Extension Manager Update 6.0.5.9 yesterday and today I've get a wired problem with my bambo tablet.I've used this tablet for 3-4 years without problem. The problem I've now is when I drag lasso tool on an image to make selection it doesn't make a selection even it is showed in the history state that I've used lasso,or magnetic lasso.
My machine is a Mac Pro 2010,Quad-Core Intel Xeon running on Lion 10.7.5 and my bamboo driver is the latest version 5.3.2-2. Even now I've change to use freeform path I've still cannot change form path to selection.

I have read elsewhere that the patch may not work on trial versions...I am technically on a 12 month free trial for attending Adobe Max.
GIMP :: Fonts Won't Work?
Dec 22, 2012I have been trying to get my gimp 2.8 fonts to work but they all look similar including the wingdings. I have checked with a word document and the fonts do work. And when I go thru C: to gimp and font folder the wingdings show correctly (eg shapes) in the preview pane. But when i am in gimp and select text and start to type every font looks the same and just types a bold looking abc etc. What can i do.

May 6, 2013It used to be that I very rarely used fonts within CS5 but recently I have. I realized that all of the fonts supposedly included with CS5 are not available via my drop down menu.
I then found these fonts in Windows/fonts so I copied all of those fonts into Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Fonts. These unavailble fonts are now listed in that folder but are still not available via the dropdown menu in PS CS5.
I've recently read that the fonts don't really even NEED to be in the Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Fonts folder and that PS should actually make all of the fonts in Windows/Fonts available via the dropdown menu. Yes, I have restarted PS after copying the files and also tried rebooting my PC after copying the files. The fonts are still not available via the drop down text menu within PS even though all of them are now in both locations.

I think you should read the original mail again. Hint: "system fonts not shown" is not the problem, but the desired outcome.I have accidentally read a "not" into the original mail, thus it became "to get Gimp to *not* only show fonts from the user/fonts file"
The configuration to check is the fonconfig settings then, for example the the global, system-wide fonts.conf file. It may contain references to the global font directories, for example /usr/share/fonts/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts. URL....
If you comment those out, then you can (and have to) add all font directories in GIMP's settings, for example.

May 22, 2012I have a problem with installing any Adobe CS5 programs on my Mac OS X 10.6.8. I successfully installed a Master Collection CS5 edition that we use in my school. But then I had to reinstall all of them and after installing it says it was successfull but all I find in my "Applications" folder is just folders of the applications and nothing to launch inside. I thought at first that maby this had something to do with cashe so I cleared all cashe and manually looked for more files that maby would have remained on the computer but I could not find any.
