I tried to run the After Effects CC 12.0.1 patch as After Effects CC will not launch after updating to Mac OS 10.9 Mavericks.
I get the following error:

I have read elsewhere that the patch may not work on trial versions...I am technically on a 12 month free trial for attending Adobe Max.
I've just installed Extension Manager Update 6.0.5.9 yesterday and today I've get a wired problem with my bambo tablet.I've used this tablet for 3-4 years without problem. The problem I've now is when I drag lasso tool on an image to make selection it doesn't make a selection even it is showed in the history state that I've used lasso,or magnetic lasso.
My machine is a Mac Pro 2010,Quad-Core Intel Xeon running on Lion 10.7.5 and my bamboo driver is the latest version 5.3.2-2. Even now I've change to use freeform path I've still cannot change form path to selection.
My problem started when I was trying to install one of the CS4 premiums. When I was going through and selecting everything I wanted to install, Photoshop CS4 Extended would not select. I clicked a little drop down arrow that said that the reason is because it is already installed. This is not my problem...
I thought it was weird because I had never, ever before had any version Photoshop installed on this computer. But I opted to simply install and then uninstall a Photoshop CS4 Extended trial to see if that would help. After downloading a hefty installer file, I attempted to install it. At the end of the installation I received the following error:

Crap. But I decided to try to uninstall it anyway. At the end of the uninstallation it says that there were some errors uninstalling some of the components. "For more information see below." And then there's nothing below. What.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it several times. What the Christ, guys? Am I forever doomed to have an incomplete, non-working Photoshop on my computer? Is there any way I can simply delete all the files and remove it from the registry?
I have to download KPT 5.01 update. I did (custom.zip) and I found two files in it: pankmetal1.kpt5 and pankmetal2.kpt5. How do I install these? Just drag them into my KPT plugins folder?

When i try to install the update manually, for some reasons it shows not in PS. Starting Extension Manager I still have to update PS.
4 days ago, I installed the 2012 Update 2.1.
Prior to that, the linetype as seen in the attached screen short displayed the same for both the alignment style (green) and the polyline (white). After 2.1, they display at different scales. Why? There now seems to be a problem with linetype scaling in the style definitions.
The same linetype is used in the alignment style as is assigned to the polyline. The scale is the same for both (in the alignment style definition and as assigned to the polyline).
The only thing that changed is that on Friday morning, I installed the update 2.1 and this is what things looked like in existing model files when I opened them that displayed correctly when I went home on Thursday. Open this file on my computer and it displays according to the attached screen shot. Open the exact same file on another team member's computer and they display at the same scale.
After installing the latest fix/update/patch Paintshop Ultimate X6 crashes continuously. After startup it goes for a minute or so and then crashes. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it without any change. I've emptied the temp directory.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just rendered a video last week with no issues. I updated After Effects CC a few days ago and now my PC shuts off about half way through a render. It is only a ten second clip with very little effects in it.
I have tried different video formats and codecs, I also tried to render the project in Media Encoder and Premiere Pro...the same result. My system is fine and I was rendering videos no problem until this update. Can we roll back updates?
rendering out of After Effects CC 12.1 as DVCpro HD 1080i60 is showing up as the wrong aspect ratio, it renders out as 1888 x1062. Before the update to After Effects CC 12.1 it was working/rendering completely fine as 1280 x1080.
Take a DVCPRO HD 1080 comp, render it and it renders as 1888 x1062, not 1280 x1080 like it did before. And the strange thing, if I re-import that rendered clip into AE, it will see it as 1280 x1080 (1.50), but if I open that clip up in Quicktime, it will see it only as 1888 x1062 ?? Again, before the update to 12.1 even quicktime would see it correctly as 1280 x1080. Something in the header info in quicktime is now wrong and it won't read it correctly. We have a piece of gear that i need to send files to as dvcpro hd 1280 x1080 and it won't even take them anymore because the quicktime header or something is wacky. (yes the gear i'm sending to is weird, and strange we send it that format, don't ask, I know)
I've tired rendering/exporting out of media encoder and premiere since the update and it's the same thing. Even rendering from AE and forcing it to resize in the render queue won't work.... it still shows up as 1888 x1062. Errr So I'm not sure where to start looking to fix the problem? Is it happening because of the Adobe update to 12.1, is it a quicktime issue or is it my Calibrated software for DVCpro on windows..... I don't know? I just know it was all working great before this latest update and now it's not.

View 4 Replies View Relatedthe 12.2 update seems to have disabled the very basic function of drag n drop a folder to import. i cannot grab a folder containing an image sequence, or any folder of images, in either mac or windows, drag to the project window in after effects and import the files. when a folder is dropped into the project window, nothing happens. what's happened? am i missing something somewhere? i love the new feature of the output module to auto create a folder when rendering image sequences, but disabling drag n drop seems really counter-productive.

Before it worked fine now this error appear (not enough GPU power). I work on standard "box" PC, so no power management issue here, I reinstalled the program and checked DX, even got the latest 4.5 Microsoft framework net. I have got other NewBlue Essentials that work fine. If I do a command such as regen, or switch between tabs/modelspace, generally anything that seems to involve a screen update, then immediately following that if I try something like a Shift-Tab type of operation, there is no response from autocad until I move the mouse. This is consistent if hardware accelertion is turned on or off, so I can't go blaming the video drivers just yet.

I'm coming into my second week of desperate attempts to make my After Effects CS6 (Volume License) work in the cursed Mac OS 10.9. I'm back to using CS5.5 which works, but my clients are getting irritated by having to down-save all documents to CS5.5 for me.

– I'm trying to patch it to 11.0.4, message keeps saying "Adobe Application Manager is damaged or missing, please reinstall"
– I've tried loads of ways to remedy this; CC cleaner, surgical removal and reinstallation of all Adobe files in various order, silent installs, all kinds of permissions repairs and adjustments, reinstalling AAM, installing AAM for volume licensing, studying the PDApp.log, install and crash logs,
I've considered wiping my entire system and trying to downgrade to Mac OS 10.8 in order to get my CS6 back up and running
When I turn on "Ray Traced 3D" I get an error message. CS6 and CC. "Out of page mapped memory for ray trace tracer. Your project may exceed GPU limits. Try closing other applications. Try updating CUDA driver. (5070::2)"
I have 6 gigs VRAM and 32 gigs RAM.
The project is 1080 with one bitmap image a vector graphic and some type.
I currently have X4 Ultimate installed with KPT Effects & Nik Color Effex Pro 3. I now also have X5 Ultimate installed. Now X5 came with the same Nik Color Effex but I haven't installed it yet.Does KPT Effects from X4 will work in X5? Can I copy the folder from X4 into X5? (Same question pertains to the NIk Color Effex. Useful to install it again when it's already intalled to get it working in X5.)
I thought about just trying to point X5 to the X4 plugin folder but after just trying that with something else, I'm a little leary. I tried to point X5 to the Photoshop CS6 folder where AlienSkin Eye Candy 6 installed. But right after doing that and re-starting PSP, the startup box hung. I used task manager to stop it but the program still opened anyway. I knew that wasn't right, so I removed the link to that folder and X5 opened normally again. The newest installer for Eye Candy 6 won't let me do a custom install. So, how to get the filter working in X5.
Anyway, my main question is if I can get the KPT effects from X4 working in X5 and if so what I need to do.
When im tray to input some jpg resolution about 1200x720 that resolution doesn't work. and my resolution after import is 245x100.Downloading file of jpg image is 1200x720..when i'm import that resolution change in 280x100.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI installed After Effects pretty much without changing anything, so the settings are more or less default. I'm using a Macbook Pro with OS 10.6.8 and After Effects CS6
I have enabled media and disk cache, max disc cache is at 100GB and I have an external drive (with 900GB spare) as the volume selected beneath that option. My internal SSD has not much spare on it. I previously had the internal SSD as the disc cache and still had this same problem.
My project is 1920 x 1080 25fps - And I'm trying to render to Quicktime. I've tried rendering to stills and then outputting to Quicktime (so as to have less computational effort), then running them through but the same problem persists.
If After Effects is the application in focus the project renders fine.
If After Effects is not the application in focus - ie. I work with it rendering in the background, the 'FINISHED' sound plays and the render is cut short a short while after I started working in another program.
The project render time is about an hour, so it's not really convenient.
I just installed photoshop and can't get "filter" for lighting effects to work?

I would like to know how to use a Transition without it affecting all tracks above it?
For example, if you apply a crossfade transition to a title track to make it fade-in, it will also affect the video track(s) above. The videotrack will suddenly turn black and then fade in together with the title.
Actually it will affect every track above the transition effect. So if you use for example the 'Switch Off' transition on the 2nd title track, it will also switch off the 1st title track, any possible overlay tracks and the main video track.
I can't imagine this should be happening. Is it a bug on my computer or is it a software issue
I'm using a single file on a server that I need two animators to be ablt to work from. Can I do this with having each animator have to work from a separate file?
