I'm using a single file on a server that I need two animators to be ablt to work from. Can I do this with having each animator have to work from a separate file?
View 1 RepliesI have created a short (<3 seconds) video comprised of 2 layers. Each layer was filmed as a green screen, and I used Keylight in After Effects CC to create a transparent background. My ultimate objective is to use the clip to create a transition for use in ProShow Producer, as described in the link [URL]..... To do this, I need the main video file, and a second file containing only the alpha channel.
I have used Adobe Media Encoder to output a FLV, and told it to Encode Alpha Channel, as was suggested, but I only get the one file (the main video). How do I get the alpha file?
I am using AE CC.
I am having many issues with photoshop cs6 as well as lightroom 4.2. one PS app crash report from photoshop said ( according to the lightroom forum) 'The dynamic link library faulted in your earlier post belongs to Adobe Edge Animator'. does it ship with cs6?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWouldn't the Adjustments fit in Effects>Colors? Or, if you're more conservative, perhaps Effects>Adjustments? The only negative I can think of is there'd be one extra click, but I think it's worth it for the sake of consistency. Adjustment/Effect split to me?
While we're on the subject of cutting out menus, I considered the results of cutting another menu; I'm not too sure about this one, but hey, throw mud at the wall and see what sticks. Rick has removed the Window menu in 4.0 after he moved its functionality elsewhere. This could also be done with the View menu. "Zoom to Selection" could be integrated into the "Fit to Window"/"Actual Size" button (a 4.0 feature) when a selection's made.
Is there any way to get the transitions of the separate effects on images? That is, to an effect at 100 and then place it to 0, getting all the images from 100 to 0 (100 images).

When I copy and past layer style into new layer, FX icon appears next to new layer, but no shadow. My settings are visable. I can see the shadow in the original image, just can't separate it into new layer. It seems like I'm missing something simple. Is this possible in Elements 11?

What I want is basically to create effects that can be used in life event to the streaming music.
Currently working on a PowerPoint styled animation.I've parented the source text of 5 text layers to 1 text layer so I can easily alter the text. It is essential that I have 5 identically texted layers.
My requirement isn't much: To assign colors to individual words without having to separate those words into different layers.

When I turn on "Ray Traced 3D" I get an error message. CS6 and CC. "Out of page mapped memory for ray trace tracer. Your project may exceed GPU limits. Try closing other applications. Try updating CUDA driver. (5070::2)"
I have 6 gigs VRAM and 32 gigs RAM.
The project is 1080 with one bitmap image a vector graphic and some type.
I currently have X4 Ultimate installed with KPT Effects & Nik Color Effex Pro 3. I now also have X5 Ultimate installed. Now X5 came with the same Nik Color Effex but I haven't installed it yet.Does KPT Effects from X4 will work in X5? Can I copy the folder from X4 into X5? (Same question pertains to the NIk Color Effex. Useful to install it again when it's already intalled to get it working in X5.)
I thought about just trying to point X5 to the X4 plugin folder but after just trying that with something else, I'm a little leary. I tried to point X5 to the Photoshop CS6 folder where AlienSkin Eye Candy 6 installed. But right after doing that and re-starting PSP, the startup box hung. I used task manager to stop it but the program still opened anyway. I knew that wasn't right, so I removed the link to that folder and X5 opened normally again. The newest installer for Eye Candy 6 won't let me do a custom install. So, how to get the filter working in X5.
Anyway, my main question is if I can get the KPT effects from X4 working in X5 and if so what I need to do.
When im tray to input some jpg resolution about 1200x720 that resolution doesn't work. and my resolution after import is 245x100.Downloading file of jpg image is 1200x720..when i'm import that resolution change in 280x100.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI installed After Effects pretty much without changing anything, so the settings are more or less default. I'm using a Macbook Pro with OS 10.6.8 and After Effects CS6
I have enabled media and disk cache, max disc cache is at 100GB and I have an external drive (with 900GB spare) as the volume selected beneath that option. My internal SSD has not much spare on it. I previously had the internal SSD as the disc cache and still had this same problem.
My project is 1920 x 1080 25fps - And I'm trying to render to Quicktime. I've tried rendering to stills and then outputting to Quicktime (so as to have less computational effort), then running them through but the same problem persists.
If After Effects is the application in focus the project renders fine.
If After Effects is not the application in focus - ie. I work with it rendering in the background, the 'FINISHED' sound plays and the render is cut short a short while after I started working in another program.
The project render time is about an hour, so it's not really convenient.
I just installed photoshop and can't get "filter" for lighting effects to work?

I would like to know how to use a Transition without it affecting all tracks above it?
For example, if you apply a crossfade transition to a title track to make it fade-in, it will also affect the video track(s) above. The videotrack will suddenly turn black and then fade in together with the title.
Actually it will affect every track above the transition effect. So if you use for example the 'Switch Off' transition on the 2nd title track, it will also switch off the 1st title track, any possible overlay tracks and the main video track.
I can't imagine this should be happening. Is it a bug on my computer or is it a software issue
I was editing a video an while playing with the scale I went to RAM preview and it wouldn't work so I closed it down and reopened it as this problem has happened a few times and this has been the fix. I then went to RAM preview from the beggining and my computer crashed, no bluescreen the monitors just went blank and the BIOS popped up. I then reopened my project and RAM previewed from the beggining and it didn't start it just said requesting frame 2 of ... I then played with a few of the prefrences eg. clearing the cache and purging memory and It still didn't work. I then disabled multiprocessing and RAM previewing worked again though I would like multiprocessing to work as It is alot faster. I then tried restarting my computer and reinstalling AE but still no luck.Also rendering does not work either with multiprocessing enabled.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with previewing effects in Illustrator. When I do this:
- create or select object
- go to appearance panel
- choose FX -> Stylize -> Drop shadow...
- check Preview in the effects window (it works as expected)
- now uncheck the Preview checkbox (when unchecked, the fx is still visible)
So, unchecking this Preview checkbox doesn't work right. It is very annoying. It is broken for most of the effect in illustrator. Strangly, it works fine with rounded corners effect. But other effects... not.
I just began editing a portrait shoot and realized that my paintbrush effects only work on about the bottom 1/3rd of my photo.
The little target with the plus sign in the middle shows up when I mouse over this photo from the mouth down, but when I mouse over the top part it turns back into the normal cursor. If I start using the brush at the bottom of the photo where the target/plus sign actually shows up and then drag it to the forehead, it works. But if i unclick at all it goes back to the original problem.
I am using Lightroom 4.
Just download After Effects CC to my desktop and once I opened the program it told me that I didn't have Verdana and the interface wouldn't work without it. It also said that I could replace the font but didn't give me any option and continued by crashing.
View 2 Replies View RelatedTrying to use the video copilot twitch plugin on a lower third. I created a really basic lower third by creating a solid and a text layer then precomposed them and copied all atributes to new comp. I then created a new adjustment layer for just the new comp and applied the twitch effect to it and my comp went black. If the twitch effect is only applied to the text layer or the base layer I want my lower third to appear on it works fine but when I apply it to just the precomposed lower third the whole thing goes black. I'm running CS6 on mac 10.7.5. I'm hoping that this is just caused by something that needs to be toggled but I've spent the last 30 minutes fiddleing around and I cant get it to work on the whole thing.
Edit: Toggling continuous rasterization makes it work on the text but not the solid.
I tried to run the After Effects CC 12.0.1 patch as After Effects CC will not launch after updating to Mac OS 10.9 Mavericks.
I get the following error:

when I want to add time to the time display, to re-position the timeline cursor, i use +15 for example. But when i want to subtract time, -15 wouldn't work. How does subtracting frames in the time display work ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem with the 3D functions in my recent project. (note: only in this particular project!)
When putting the 3D tick on any layer, all the other layers in the composition just turn invisible and the background is set to black. However, the little eye which handles the visibility of a layer is still set to visible.
In addition, the X and Y Rotation has lost it's functionality. The object is not rotated but more or less compressed, which looks like a bad imitation of a 3D rotation. I'll better show you.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI cannot figure out how to separate a graphic from a a vector file I purchased on Shutter Stock which has a bunch of graphics in the file used for design. The file has layers, and I have tried to select just one of the layers to copy and paste into a new AI file, but it doesn't work. Nothing seems to be grouped together, and I have no idea how to tell if there is a compound path or not.
I need to separate all the images and then resize them as well. Then I want to export to a jpeg file so that I can use in photoshop and/or publisher.
I want to fade a text layer with bevel, gradient overlay, and stroke, and mask only seems to fade the gradient, not the original text color, so it doesn't blend with the bg. I can't use gradient overlay for fade either because I'm already using it and it won't fade the stroke anyway.
