Sep 30, 2008It seems that the Text Tool has lost it's ability to highlight text for editiing in one particular file. How to regain the highlight?

It goes it this diagonal/slanted direction so it looks like I'm not highlight the text at all. But it works fine, if I use the regular type too, I search forums for this such clicking the ctrl+H on my laptopt and this happens on my computer as well. The ctrl+H command did not work..

Mar 6, 2013I vertically spaced out my text, edited the vectors of one of the characters, and now I need to put the vertical spacing back to the way it was, but I can't re-highlight my text. As a result, I cannot find a way to change the vertical spacing. What must I do? I know a solution, but it is VERY LONG and difficult, there must be a simple solution.

Jun 5, 2009I've noticed that the Gradient Tool won't show up when inside a Live Paint group, which makes it difficult to edit gradients. Is it supposed to be like this?
It is still possible to edit the gradient using the Gradient Panel, but I prefer to use the Gradient Tool instead because of it's direct approach.
Also, when selecting multiple areas within a Live Paint group to fill with a gradient, I don't seem to be able to Alt+Drag with the Gradient Tool in order to fill each selection with it's own gradient. It always ends up with one gradient being applied across all of the selections.

The second problem is at other times the proper tool icon and function is not showing up and working. I select for example the pen tool and the hand tool icon show up and the function works as the hand tool not the pen tool?

Jun 16, 2011I am running AutoCAD Structural Detailing 2012. When editting Text or MText, if I try to highlight some part of text, it does highlight BUT it does not show the highlight. What I mean is like if you were to highlight some text of this paragraph, on any internet explorer, it should highlight whatever text with blue. On every other version of AutoCAD, this is also the case. On my AutoCAD, I can highlight the text but it never shows the blue highlight, it does not show it as I am highlighting, nor does not show after I make my selection. If you are very careful you can still select the correct text, but this makes it very hard to know exactly what you are about to edit or delete. I was wondering if there is some setting that may have been in previous AutoCAD that I don't know about that somehow got changed or something?

When I adjust kerning to text in order to match spacing, the cursor highlight for the text covers up any image or artwork allowing you to only see the text selected. The main issue so far is just making it really look like it's glowing, rather than just everything getting brighter. I tried Filters > Aristic > Softglow, but that didn't work too well.

Feb 13, 2014I created text on a curved path using the pen tool and the the type on a path tool. However, there are portions of the text that I want to taper. For example, my text begins horizontally, continues to the right, and gradually curves downward. As the text curves downward I would like it to taper smoothly into a narrower and narrower text.

Oct 23, 2013I scanned a worksheet containing chemical structures with VueScan 9.3.14. I tried to use acrobat 11.0.5 along with the highlight tool to highlight parts of a chemical structure. Adobe did not recognize all parts of the chemical structure. Some parts (mostly single covalent bonds between 2 atoms) could be highlighted, but other's could not. Those parts which could not be highlight were important parts I was aiming to use acrobat's highlight tool for. I was hoping if something like the highlight tool in acrobat could be used in illustrator and/or other third party software.

May 29, 2012Before in CS5 when you click an option, the text would turn white, now they stay black making them hard to see. It seems to be desktop appearance specific so if I change my desktop theme the background color would change making the black text easier to see (text stays black). This seems like a bug, because the highlited text color should turn to white not stay black. Which was how it was in CS5.

on working with Photoshop and Photography a bit, but I starting to get
back into it again. And finding out I forgot alot that I have learned.
I went out today and bought the Wacom Bamboo and it was/is working fine
other then me needing to get used to it an learn it. Mentioning this because
I'm not sure if it is related to my problem or not.
My problem is: Lost function to some tools like, clone stamp, paint brush, dodge/burn etc. I can click on them but when I try to use them nothing happens. But my history pallet shows it was used.

Sep 3, 2011There's mention of a "tool presets" function. e.g. you set up your box tool just so (colors, alpha blend, thickness etc) and could then save this as "my blue box #2" etc to be recalled later instead of a ton of clicks to set it up the way you want.
