i'm trying to emulate the shadow and highlight on this apple icon:-
i am trying to create this shadow on text, so have tried the various drop shadows, inner and outer shadows, glows etc but to nothing resembling the shadow / highlights on this icon.
I found this excellent tutorial on how to change shadows, etc. It included the ability to change the amount, the tonal width and the radius, BUT, I cannot find it in my PS 7.
Is this function not available in Photoshop 7?
I get very washed out images when I use this. What is the best way to correct it?give it more punch?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have extracted some images in PS. I had to go Adjustments>Shadow/Highlight to be able to see the outline properly, as the background was too close in color to the actual photo.
Now, how do I get it back to the original? I mean, after extracting it and saving as a psd, is there a way you can undo the Shadow/Highlight?
I have a copy of Photoshop and perhaps the most common tools I use is the Highlight/Shadow adjustment on a single photo. In it you can open (lighten) the shadows and tame (darken) the highlights. I'd expect to apply this control globally to a video clip, not a frame.
Does VSP have this feature?
I just upgraded to lightroom 4.1 and the highlight and shadow recovery sliders have disappeared. It now looks like me old version 2. What happened to the new sliders?

View 2 Replies View RelatedThere's a gap between the edge of my tonal information and the end of the histogram box on both sides of the graph. No matter how bright or dark I make the image it does not show clipping and the values do not slide to the far edges of the box like they used to. Also, holding down option when dragging the 'whites' and 'blacks' sliders no longer shows me clipped values no matter how bright or dark I make it.

Everything seemed to install just fine, but when I open LR4, the new whites highlights shadows blacks sliders instantly turn back to the old LR3 recovery fill light sliders....I see them for about 3 seconds and they change right before my eyes.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was using these tool on a lot of images, because they often seemed to vastly improve them, making the colors pop on otherwise somewhat dull ones, and getting rid of unwanted color casts..
Later though I noticed that it is often at the cost of burning out hightlights in some areas beyond salvation.I also find shadow /highlight sometimes does this also.
Then I tried to protect some small areas with a mask before proceeding, but it seems that I can't find information on just painting a mask, but only videos with much more complex adjustment such as the Russel Crow or Lynda ones with maintaing hair detail while superimposing images, which is way beyond what I need in these cases.
If I try the wand to select and inverse I get unnatural looking divisions. Is it a matter of feathering to the right extent?

I tried using Clipping Masks, but they also didn't work. And if transforming the rectangle in a Work Path would be a good approach, much less how to actually do it.
Before in CS5 when you click an option, the text would turn white, now they stay black making them hard to see. It seems to be desktop appearance specific so if I change my desktop theme the background color would change making the black text easier to see (text stays black). This seems like a bug, because the highlited text color should turn to white not stay black. Which was how it was in CS5.

I am having an issue with the lastest version of illustrator! When I try to highlight the text on the path. It goes it this diagonal/slanted direction so it looks like I'm not highlight the text at all. But it works fine, if I use the regular type too, I search forums for this such clicking the ctrl+H on my laptopt and this happens on my computer as well. The ctrl+H command did not work..

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am running AutoCAD Structural Detailing 2012. When editting Text or MText, if I try to highlight some part of text, it does highlight BUT it does not show the highlight. What I mean is like if you were to highlight some text of this paragraph, on any internet explorer, it should highlight whatever text with blue. On every other version of AutoCAD, this is also the case. On my AutoCAD, I can highlight the text but it never shows the blue highlight, it does not show it as I am highlighting, nor does not show after I make my selection. If you are very careful you can still select the correct text, but this makes it very hard to know exactly what you are about to edit or delete. I was wondering if there is some setting that may have been in previous AutoCAD that I don't know about that somehow got changed or something?

The main issue so far is just making it really look like it's glowing, rather than just everything getting brighter. I tried Filters > Aristic > Softglow, but that didn't work too well.
Im working with a clients file and being told Im missing some fonts. There is text ALL OVER this thing and it will be a major headache to see where the font problems are located. When I open a file like this in InDesign where a font is mssing, its highlighted in large pink boxes that stand out real easy. Does Illustrator have a similar feature?
