Illustrator :: CMYK Color Code For Default Gradient Metal Copper And Silver

I did some battery wraps for a company and they are being printed in China.  The background is the default cmyk gradient "copper" and one is "silver" in AI.  They are asking me to provide the Pantone or CMYK color code for these colors.  Since they are a gradient I am not sure what to tell them.

3ds Max :: Portion Of Building Covered In Metal Panels

May 22, 2012

This will be laughably simple for most readers, but I'm stuck and am at a loss.

I have a portion of my building in max that needs to be covered in metal panels. I'm good with creating a material to represent this. What I cannot find in ANY of materials is how to adjust the material's placement on each face so that I can make sure they align.

Currently the seams "jump" as they turn the corners, rather than wrapping continuously around. Way back when I took classes in this prog at one point we were able to select a specific FACE of a cube and then shift the material around to align the seams correctly (ie: without creating a UVW unwrap).

The "help" system in max acts as if this isn't even possible. Is my only option really to have to unwrap the textures, use photoshop to paint panels, and then reapply? Seriously?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Polished Copper Reflections

Feb 8, 2012

Noticed the images in the reflection from polished copper?  In my current model, polished copper is reflecting the image of what looks to be a parking lot, as I see the back end of 3 different cars, ones white and the other two are grey I think.  No real issue, just noticed this reflection, looks like the developers were having a little bit of fun on this one, or is there a place this reflection can be changed?

Illustrator :: Building Glyph Font - SVG Export

Sep 26, 2013

I am building a glyph font in Illustrator CS6. The problem here deals with a large number of assets, all of which need SVG exports at 32x32px (due to a strict grid definitions) for import and compiling purposes (assets need to be sequential in naming for accurate import and compile and maintenance as well). All of the AI export solutions I have seen require the SVGs to be on individual artboards or in separate layers in order to export.

Artboards are extremely limiting as AI has that infamous 100 artboard limit.

When it comes to the layers solution, as far as I can tell, there is no way via extensions or otherwise to take sublayers (grouped/compound paths intact; release to layers does not retain the compound paths) and turn them into top-level layers which can then, in turn, be exported as individual SVG's via this script modified by Tom Byrne. At this point it seems like an entirely manual process.

Illustrator :: Tracing Building Construction Drawings

Jan 14, 2013

i want to do some scanning of drawings of rubble masonry wall in section export it as a dwg file in autocad, and then work and modify in autocad. However when i use the live trace command, the trace is wrongly done. for example there is a straight line having thickness 2 mm.

illustrator traces it as a rectangle having a width 2 mm. what should i do so that a closed circle sketched on a paper scanned into illustrator is traced as a single circle by recognizing the centre of the sketched path rather than 2 concentric circles placed apart at a distance equal to the thickness of my real life graphite pencil .?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Animation Of Thin Copper Wire Being Wound Onto Pulley?

I'd like to make an animation of a thin copper wire being wound onto a pulley.  Is this possible in Inventor?  I'm not sure Inventor will allow the thin wire to be bent.  I can imagine other ways to make the animation, but I'd much rather have the wire bend around the pulley as the pulley rotates.

3ds Max :: Animating A Robot

Usually i just do stills, but soon i maybe will have to animate the work of a robot like that one:

I can do it just manually by moving the different parts of the robot according to the needs of the animation. But is there a way to automate/ease up animation of such a robot? Because the way that i do it is just quite slow and if i have to animate 30 robots which are doing different things it would take me a century.

AutoCAD Inventor :: 6-axis Robot Animation

Mar 29, 2012

I'm trying to animate a 6-axis robot in Inventor 2012 Pro, which moves to about 10 different locations.  I'm using parameters to drive the constraints to position the wrist, and I have several different positional representations with unsuppressed / modified constraints.  When I try to animate between the positional reps in IV Studio, the parts just snap into place instead of interpolating between each location.  Also, I have to manually enter the timing for each step, instead of just entering the max angular velocity of each joint.

Would it be easier to create the animation in dynamic simulation using a spatial joint at the wrist?  I'd like for the positions to still be modifiable through the parameters.

Softimage :: How To Find Workflow Between Face Robot And 3Ds Max

Jun 14, 2012

I am trying to find a workflow between face robot and 3ds max and so far I haven't been able to find one.

My investigation has led me here;

[URL]....

I am looking at purchasing point oven but in the meantime thought I'd try other options.

I looked into the "send to max" in the file menu but this doesn't seem to be setup for transfer of meshes more to do with particles?

[URL]...

I have used crosswalk and it will transfer a mesh but no textures and it will only transfer simple animations such as scale keyframes but nothing with regards to facerobot. The best result I've seen so far with crosswalk is that the face will be exported along with a morph target set but the morphs do nothing and all bones come in as dummy object with simple skinning. Not ideal as it negates the benefits of using face robot for implementing face capture into the pipeline.

I have seen the youtube video from Blur Studios explaining their workflow with facerobot on dantes inferno but they don't go into any detail.

UPDATE : Found out that crosswalk does not support facerobot transfer with any version of max.

Softimage :: C3D Mocap Import Into Face Robot

Oct 21, 2012

Most of my experience is with Maya, but I am using Face Robot for the lipsync feature. I've now imported a c3d mocap file into Face Robot to animate the eyebrows and head motion.

This works very well, I use the adjust feature to tune out the motion I don't want (jaws, lips etc) just leaving the rest.

Great, except if I enable head rotation in the Face Robot c3d options, the neck rotates 90 in the X and 90 in the Z axes, effectively twisting the neck and contorting the head into this position. The rest of the animation (including slight head rotations) works well.

I noticed that the c3d file is not facing down the +ve Z axis in Face Robot or MotionBuilder. Is there a way to change this? I've tried manual rotation of the c3d markers, changing in MotionBuilder and re-saving the c3d data. Nothing works.

The c3d mocap comes from the new Face Shift Studio program which captures data with a kinect sensor, but it is the same with other c3d files I have downloaded.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Drawing Lines From Robot To Radial Shots

Oct 29, 2012

I am wanting to draw lines from gun setup to the back sight, and then from the gun to all the radial shots that were taken from that setup. I would like to do this as automatically as possible. (i.e. a bunch of radial lines from the gun to each individual shot from that setup).

Our raw files are in TDS format.  I could do it manually by using the transparent command 'PN, but I would have to draw a line from the setup to the shots individually.

Otherwise, I could write a lisp that asks me for the setup pt number, and I could give it a range ot pt #'s and have it draw lines from the gun to each of the pts in the range. (that is, if 'PN works in lisp).

AutoCAD Inventor :: Pick And Place Movements - Cool Robot Clip

Dec 31, 2011

If you're interested take a look at the attached video clip.

What you will see is one robot tending two tool changers.

I know the quality was rushed, but you should see that one of the two stands actually has the end effector tooling on it.

My question is how do i define a grip from the robot to that tool, so I can move it to the other riser (as you can tell from the animation).

I am not working in Inventor Studio, otherwise this would be somewhat simple. I am doing this in Dynamic Simulation.

My thought was to create a spacial joint between the robot and the tool. But then how would I control through the timing where its location is?

Illustrator :: Shiny Metal Aesthetic And Groups

Jun 20, 2012

I'm working on a proprietary project that has lettering with a white rectangle overlaid in Screen mode at about 35% to convey the idea of a metal surface to the viewer (similar to how the apps launch buttons in iOS have that glossy sheen). My question to you all is, when I have worked on the design in Illustrator and pulled it into AE the white box in Screen mode is visible and affects the layers below.

Now, I thought there was a way to isolate blending modes to groups or layers, so that anything outside of that group/layer would not be affected. Is this correct? My workaround at the moment is to boole the box so that the screening geometry fits to the lettering, — an arduous process. Attached is an example of the effect I am going for. Ideally I'd like to keep my screening box whole so that I can play with the angle of the faked reflection without having to go through the boole process again.

Photoshop :: Building PC For CS4,

Jan 7, 2009

I am about to build a high-end PC to use with Photoshop CS4 (under Vista 64 bit). I've never built one before; I'm doing it partly to learn more about how they're put together, and partly so as to get exactly what I want - as fast as possible for Photoshop; watercooled; and very, very quiet.

Most high-end computers seem to be designed for gamers, not Photoshoppers, and most advice is aimed at gamers. I've searched the web for Photoshop-specific advice, but it's mostly about CS3, and not up to speed on things like the i7 CPU, and what graphics card/s are best for CS4.

3ds Max :: Downloaded Building And Rayfire

Apr 20, 2012

I downloaded a nice building and want to destroy it like everybody else, in Rayfire. The problem i always get is that rayfire and 3ds crash when i try to fragment it. I use Convex simulation geometry and Voroni uniform as setting for fragmenting.

I dont know if these objects that i download are too complex for fracturing or if the geometry are intercepting each other inside the object. But if i stack basic shapes on top of each other everything works fine.

Also if i make a box, cut some holes in it and try to fracture it, rayfire fills the hole box and its not hollow anymore. I tried to add a "shell" to it so its not paper thin and fracture with the "voroni - thickness".

That seems to work in some way, but when i start simulation everything flies everywhere.I'm pretty new to 3ds, so i guess there are some basics i dont understand. How i can make outstanding special visual effects
