I am about to build a high-end PC to use with Photoshop CS4 (under Vista 64 bit). I've never built one before; I'm doing it partly to learn more about how they're put together, and partly so as to get exactly what I want - as fast as possible for Photoshop; watercooled; and very, very quiet.
Most high-end computers seem to be designed for gamers, not Photoshoppers, and most advice is aimed at gamers. I've searched the web for Photoshop-specific advice, but it's mostly about CS3, and not up to speed on things like the i7 CPU, and what graphics card/s are best for CS4.
For a couple months now I have experienced the "Building Histograms" dialog appearing on nearly every move or action; moving an object, adjusting a shape, zooming in & out, simply selecting an object.
The building of the histograms almost always takes up to 10+ seconds to complete.
I have followed other topics where there was no solid professional answer to the problem. The closest thing everyone was able to pin it on was the use of an extension or add-on. I have none of these.
In my opinion an update / fix should be applied for this. I won't be interested in further debugging or providing information. Simply stating that I am experiencing this for history sake.
As you can see the sandstone building is old and dirty. What is the best way to clean up this building? I did several attempts, but all of them gave me a unnatural or blurry building.
I saw a picture where someone put a picture of themselves on a building and I was wondering what the best way to do that and make it look realistic would be.
I am currently running a quad-care, 4 gigs, with a nvidia 8800gts 640mb graphics card machine and using photoshop cs4 extended with windows xp 32 bit os.
While photoshop cs4 is fairly fast and responsive, I would like to have it even quicker.
My question is, what would make this happen?
Naturally a faster processor (i7 intel) would assist in this, but I rather not go that route. I would rather go to a 64bit OS and add additional 4 gigs of ram (total of 8). What would your suggestions be?
Add the additional 4 gigs of ram and go to 64-bit xp? 64 bit vista?
Build a new machine with i7 quad cpus, 16 gigs of ram and 64 bit os?
Simply use what I got because there will not be much of an improvement?
I would like to have it run faster without a great deal of reworking the system. Clearly what I am running now is pretty darn fast even though it is a year old since I built it.
I am working in Photoshop CS5 on a MacPro with Snow Leopard, 10.6.4. I have a file that is a little over a gigabyte open. Every time I make any changes to the file (i.e. select a different layers, grab the text tool, etc.) a menu pops up with a progress bar and says it is building the histgrams.
This process happens with EVERY move. As you can imagine, this has slowed my productivity down to a crawl. Can I do anything to make it stop rebuilding the histograms at every step?
i want to know if there is a way possible to write text in damaged building effect.
i dont have any pictures but i can explain for example if we write E, the top bar is damaged from the end and the middle one has broken windows or something like that
there are fine lines put on the edges of thesebuildings and other object in this picture using photoshop.. i'm new to photoshop and i can't find anything inhelp about line edges.. can someone please tell me the steps fordoing this? please no technical language or photoshopconcepts.
I'm using PSE-9 organizer to select process and build a photo album that will have 10 or 12 subfolders or chapters. First I can't seem to eliminate the images I've already screened and put into a chapter, and when I select some images for inclusion in a chapter, when I go back to that chapter every image I've looked at is in the folder.
I want to publish a book. It is mostly text, 40,000 words plus with over 350 photos. I am using Elements 11 on a Windows 7 machine. I have developed a template displaying 2 facing pages. I want to create a different layer for each photo. I also want to create different layers each with its own text box. I want to fill with each box with Microsoft Word text using a cut and paste technique.
I need to know how to create a text box on a layer that I can fill with text. When I select a layer and click on the text tool I create a text layer. Then I click and drag a box which looks good, but when I click on the green check to apply the box to the layer the entire box disappears and I’m back to where I started. how I can create a text box on a layer that I can fill with text.
How can I make a wooden building front into stonework ? I know it involves using the lasso to cut around the stone [I believe] and somehow placing the stone onto the wooden part of the building and using TYRANSFORM---but I need the steps again.
When looking at architect CAD drawings in magazines I notice that they use figures, trees, cars, etc. to add scale to the building. I'd like to be able to do the same.
Is it possible to import similar images into AutoCad 2014?
One other question: if I'm drawing a house plan and I have specified the wall thickness by drawing 2 lines to represent the outer and inner boundary, how do I 'fill' the thickness of the wall; as opposed to just leaving it white/empty?
I want to subdivide my Revit building model including its components in many segments. These segments will be carried out one after another in the reality. How can I do that without need to subdivide every component (walls, ceilings....) ?
I downloaded a nice building and want to destroy it like everybody else, in Rayfire. The problem i always get is that rayfire and 3ds crash when i try to fragment it. I use Convex simulation geometry and Voroni uniform as setting for fragmenting.
I dont know if these objects that i download are too complex for fracturing or if the geometry are intercepting each other inside the object. But if i stack basic shapes on top of each other everything works fine.
Also if i make a box, cut some holes in it and try to fracture it, rayfire fills the hole box and its not hollow anymore. I tried to add a "shell" to it so its not paper thin and fracture with the "voroni - thickness".
That seems to work in some way, but when i start simulation everything flies everywhere.I'm pretty new to 3ds, so i guess there are some basics i dont understand. How i can make outstanding special visual effects
I'm trying to make a box collapse but everytime I run the simulation, instead of all the fragments falling downwards, some fragments explode upwards before falling. I have tried using both PhysX and Reaktor in RayFire with and without gravity force.
I have managed to create a 2 storey house complete with roof (i.e ground floor, 1st floor and roof).
I have got them all setup in the project navigator under constructs. I can view all three of these layers in 3D by changing the popdown in the view/popdown option but i can't see the 'full' house. i.e. as if i was looking down on the full house from above at an angle and can see the ground floor, 1st floor and roof all at once. I've seen examples in the main page under 'pctures of the week' so i know it can be done.
how to create a rear elevation or side view type drawing (how to do it so i can show someone, so i don't have a full grasp of the names of architectural plans).
I am trying to bild a ramp in 3d but i've been trying with no success, the ramp have a non common shape. pls look at the acad file to take a loot at the shape.
I need to have the top part at 5531mm and the bottom part at 0 and there is another part which is at 5035mm you can see that in the drrong and the ramp must 100mm thick or something similar. also i need to do it as a solid becouse i need to export it on a different software which only ecrpts solids.
In Revit, how can I stretch a building in one direction, including all floors, in either plan or elevation? Let's say a wing of a 3-story building is 20' long, and I want to make it 24' long.
In ACAD, there is the stretch command that uses a fence.
Granted I would have to use stretch on each plan & elevation drawing, but all elements within the fence are sretched.
Do I have to move a grid, and hope that I've locked all walls on all floors to that grid so they move when the grid is moved?
Sometimes I'm unable to place a truss in my building. When I am able to get it in, it's never at the right height (either too high or too low). I've tried moving it in an elevation and section, but it will only move left and right, not up and down. My teacher said something about changing the view range, which I did.
Im trying to use walkthrough while modeling the inside of a building. I used to just click and hold down on "pan view" until walkthrough would come up. Now It doesnt, I went into customize user interface and assigned the walkthrough a different hot key and moved it into the top bar right beside where "Mirror" is and it still wouldnt work even if I clicked on it. I tried up arrow as well and im not sure hwo to get it to work.
I'm working on a controller for a face rig, but instead of using morphers I'm using different textures for the mouth depending on the action. I've set these up in nested mix maps (there are 8 different textures in all). For my test I'm using 4 and standard primitives to simplify things a bit.
I initially setup these controls in an attribute holder containing 3 sliders. The main one is a master switch slider. The other two act as the mix map sliders within the texture nest of mix maps. I'd like to create a single control for these though.
I can pseudocode this out pretty easily but applying it is a different story. What is the best course of action? I'm not very familiar with Maxscript although I am planning on looking into it.
i am part way through a C&G cad course and am struggling breaking away from drawing in a traditional pencil and paper style by using layout lines to position and centre things. the exercise i am working on is a basic building front with a doorway centrally positioned, this is all drawn using plines. you can hopefully see where i have put layout lines to position the roof apex and the doorway but i am sure there is an easier way of drawing it? The dimensions i have are 60 wide between the inner walls, 20 from the floor to the roof base fillet and 19 from the roof base fillet to the apex, the outer walls are just offset 1.5 from the inner. the doorway is 12*12*12.
I want to build a map of my local area, which I have already done in illustrator, and what I want the map to be able to do is when the mouse hovers over a certain area of the map, the map enlarges so that then it is easier for the user to click and find out more. I downloaded the interactive marquee which you can download for free from Simon Widjaja hoping that I could fathom out how to do it but I am still lost.
