View 7 RepliesRecently found another bug in X6. This time it is in the Pantone conversion tables when converting to cmyk. I had a job that had been updated over the years and the file was last used in X5. The colour in question was PMS 7406. The file opened fine & was converted to cmyk and sent to the printer unchecked. What could possibly go wrong - this file had been used countless times before without incident. Pantone 7406 breaks down to 18% magenta and 100% yellow (as per Pantone's own specification). X5 converted it to 17% magenta and 100% yellow. Near enough - I'm not going to quibble over 1%. However, opening the X5 file in X6 caused it to use the 'Pantone previous version' colour table (and you don't get any notification that it is doing it). Result is that it now converts the colour to 18% cyan, 24% magenta and 100% yellow. Where the #@**# did it get the cyan from? We are now talking about a completely different color!
It gets worse. If you create a new object in X6 and fill it with PMS 7406 (using the Pantone + colour table) and then convert it to cmyk, you get 6% cyan, 22% magenta and 100% yellow. Again, this is not the correct break down of this colour. Pantone is a world standard with known conversion to cmyk figures. InDesign can get it right, Illustrator can get it right, then why can't Corel? And how many other Pantone colours are wrong? I have used Draw for 20 years and this is the worst bungle yet (apart from version 4). For a program that tells the world it is a professional program to screw up like this beggars belief.
If we have to check every single Pantone to cmyk conversion against the Pantone specifications, then it just isn't worth using Corel in printing. Add this to the font problems in Font Navigator and the scale error in Barcode Generator and it make X6 pretty much useless in the print industry. Throwing in freebies like fonts, second rate web creators and Photo Paint are not much use when the flagship program is sinking.
I've quickly come to admire the new adjustment layer 'color lookup', but I feel the presets are too few.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using CS3. In the Camera Raw 4.6 import window the color looks great. When I get the image into Photoshop the color looks horrible. I know it's the color profile that Raw is assigning. My question... is there a way to disable the color profile conversion coming from Camera Raw?
I've always had great results without using profiles and now this alters my color. I've even tried to go in and force the image to use a different color profile but at this point the damage has been done by the camera raw plugin.
I am trying to figure out how to change the color of the exterior of my building, which is brick.

An example of what I want is the logo on this African Tours website. I can get it to work in photoshop but I dont see the same tool in Illustrator. Otherwise is there a way that I can easily bring the file from Photoshop into Illustrator?
View 3 Replies View Relatedall of a sudden in AutoCAD 2013 and C3D 2013 my printing dies on me. usually it won't even print anything and when it does it prints WYSIWYG, no effect at all from the color table.
Some toggle I accidentally hit? (That Gizmo thing is suddenly showing up too)
I've cut and "paste special" a table from excel to autocad, and would like to edit several (not all) cell's text color from the default (in this case white) to the bylayer color.
When I set up my table style I specified the text to be bylayer, however apparently a paste from excel ignores the setting.
Why are the Pantone Color tables/libraries in INDD CS6 and CC giving the incorrect process builds?

The monitor profile “LCD color management and conversion” appears to be defective. Please rerun your monitor calibration software.”
Following the message are 2 buttons: “Ignore Profile” and “Use Anyway.”
What do I need to do?
I've been using corel draw since version 4, and I love it. Now on x5 I cannot figure this out. I use eps files for printing large format with contour lines for cutting. My setup uses a spot color defined as "CutContour" for cutting. It seems x5 renames these colors or converts them to something else. I opened the same file in 12 and had to Reclick the same color for the cutter to see it and it worked fine. Any setting to change this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought a Pepin press book & cd, of wallpaper patterns. They are not in the rgb mode, but the (what is it? ) CYBK? mode. When I load them onto gimp the colors are way off.
Apparently gimp converts them to rgb mode, but the colors are glaring & clashing.
For our sublimation printing, we use Corel X3,
For some time we have problems with the colors.
As standard pallette we use Pantone Coated, but after I export a .cdr to .eps some colors are replaced with a new color with the same name, when I open it in Coreldraw again afterwards. The colors are placed in a new user pallette and have different CMYK values.
How knows how to keep my PMS coated pallete?
Is there a way to have Corel Draw X4 automatically convert all RGB colors into CYMK? I've a very complicated clipart and all colors are RGB; I don't want to convert the clipart into a bitmap to change the color mode.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have been having a problem with Gimp. I am currently working on a Gif banner for a webpage. The banner itself is 728x90 pixels. It has 186 different layes as well, some of which are inside of folders. The xcf itself is complete, but the only other stage I need to complete is converting it to Indexed colors so I can export it as a gif; however, whenever i access the Image>Mode tab, the "Indexed" button isn't highlighted, and I am unable to click on it, even with the keyboard commands. I haven't been able to find a solution so far. Here's a picture of the problem.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen a mixed RGB/CMYK PDF is opened in Illustrator CS6, Illustrator forces a conversion to one color space or the other. See this screenshot: [URL]
I assume this is a limitation of Illustrator and there's no way to keep both color spaces. Under that assumption, Is it possible to choose the profiles used for the conversion from RGB to CMYK? Can Illustrator be made to use the RGB and CMYK profiles defined in its Color Settings to make this conversion?
I am about to build a high-end PC to use with Photoshop CS4 (under Vista 64 bit). I've never built one before; I'm doing it partly to learn more about how they're put together, and partly so as to get exactly what I want - as fast as possible for Photoshop; watercooled; and very, very quiet.
Most high-end computers seem to be designed for gamers, not Photoshoppers, and most advice is aimed at gamers. I've searched the web for Photoshop-specific advice, but it's mostly about CS3, and not up to speed on things like the i7 CPU, and what graphics card/s are best for CS4.
I did my layout with PS, make slices with ImageReady or Fireworks. Putting it all together in Dreamweaver is the problem. Making the second page, and so on is the problem. Becouse if I just import Fireworks Html there is no room for text or somethling elese if you unerstand me.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently redesigned my website using an image which was sliced using imageready and then put back together using tables.
I was told that tables were okay for this but I should have used css, surely I owuldn't have to do an absolute position for each small segment of the interface - can anyone describe how this technique may work and is it better than using tables?
I want to put a border for my html table as a cirlce.
i draw a circle using ms-word.
after that i saved it as a webpage.
I opened the saved circle image in photoshop then using the slice tool. i sliced to top, left, right, bottom and middle part.
after that i jumped to imageready. there i saved the optimized as html page.
after saving i removed the middle part of the image i replaced the middle part with some photoalbum script.
Here the problem starts. All the pictures are separating in the html table.
I want to put a html table border as an ellipse shape.
I have a client who wants me to build a shape out of images of fruit.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am on OSX using Photoshop CS6.
For a couple months now I have experienced the "Building Histograms" dialog appearing on nearly every move or action; moving an object, adjusting a shape, zooming in & out, simply selecting an object.
The building of the histograms almost always takes up to 10+ seconds to complete.
I have followed other topics where there was no solid professional answer to the problem. The closest thing everyone was able to pin it on was the use of an extension or add-on. I have none of these.
In my opinion an update / fix should be applied for this. I won't be interested in further debugging or providing information. Simply stating that I am experiencing this for history sake.
I have a question about this image;
As you can see the sandstone building is old and dirty. What is the best way to clean up this building? I did several attempts, but all of them gave me a unnatural or blurry building.
I had Photoshop CS2 and CS3 previously installed, just installed "Adobe Creative Suite 4" but photoshop won't work.
I start the program and as it is loading it gets to "Building TWAIN Menu Items" and then it stops and the "Send error report" window appears.
I'm trying to make something realistic for a change, but you can still see it's fake.
Can someone give me advise on how to make it more realistic?
I saw a picture where someone put a picture of themselves on a building and I was wondering what the best way to do that and make it look realistic would be.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am currently running a quad-care, 4 gigs, with a nvidia 8800gts 640mb graphics card machine and using photoshop cs4 extended with windows xp 32 bit os.
While photoshop cs4 is fairly fast and responsive, I would like to have it even quicker.
My question is, what would make this happen?
Naturally a faster processor (i7 intel) would assist in this, but I rather not go that route. I would rather go to a 64bit OS and add additional 4 gigs of ram (total of 8). What would your suggestions be?
Add the additional 4 gigs of ram and go to 64-bit xp? 64 bit vista?
Build a new machine with i7 quad cpus, 16 gigs of ram and 64 bit os?
Simply use what I got because there will not be much of an improvement?
I would like to have it run faster without a great deal of reworking the system. Clearly what I am running now is pretty darn fast even though it is a year old since I built it.
