I've cut and "paste special" a table from excel to autocad, and would like to edit several (not all) cell's text color from the default (in this case white) to the bylayer color.
When I set up my table style I specified the text to be bylayer, however apparently a paste from excel ignores the setting.
I am currently using 2008. I have data linked an excel sheet to a table in my drawing. That part works fine.I am trying to link cell values in that table to block attributes using fields-object-formula-cell.Numeric values transfer to my field OK but values containing letters or full words transfer as #####.This appears to be the 'way it is' in 2008.

In attached file a.dwg, I use battman command to change text color inside the block. It did well for the color change part but get the text upside down as well. I am in 2010.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI decided to use Data Link Tables for my Excel sheet instead of OLELinks. The appearance is far sharper, and I am also pleased there is no background color transfered. What IS the problem is when I update the table, its goes from 12" Wide by 12" Tall table @ 7/16" Text W/O borders back to 3" Wide by 10" Tall with varying text size to fit and gains back all borders except diagonals (of which none are present on the Excel file).
So, any way to default the format when I refresh so that it holds each cell at the 6"X1" dimensions with no border.
With that, If there is a way to have a stencil for making the range links with Excel, that would be useful. I use the exact same 4 or 6 ranges (2 formats) in every dwg.
I was wondering if there is a way to change multiple entities of Mtext. I tried CHT but the options are limited. Is there a way of say changing the color?

View 9 Replies View Related(Again) Switching the “data type” of the cell,I’m not sure why the AutoCAD doesn't allow changing the “data type” of the cell in the table for already existing data. For example, in the attached table, I wanted to switch the “data type” from “decimal number” to “percentages”, but sounds that the AutoCAD doesn’t allow this function.
In the Excel, for example, we can switch the “data type” easily by selecting the target cells and choosing the format we need! Quite simple, in the AutoCAD, it seems that it needs some work around!
I am working on a corridor project where I have to make section views of the road. I created my sample lines by range of stations, and made all of my section views from there. Now I need to add volume tables for each section view.
I have 28 section views, and more to come when I do another set of sample lines for another road, and I don't feel like going through each section view individually to make volume tables for them.
Is there a way I can create total volume tables for all of my section views at the same time? It would save a lot of time!

I need to modify the page setup of multple drawings and have it save that way so everytime I open the drawing the chosen page setup is selected.
I'm aware of being able to set multiple page setups in the publish screen, but that isnt a permenant change to the drawings themselves, and not what I'm looking for.

I have my page layout in excel to be 11 x 17 landscape. I have my table at about 9 1/4 x 15 landscape. Once I import it into autocad, it is now about 6 3/8 x 20 1/4. I don't know what i'm doing wrong but i need it to transfer just like it is in excel as far as the size of it.
I have a whole bunch of labels that are single line text that I want to convert to Mtext. I have been using the Express Tools TXT2MTXT command but that only works on one label at a time. If I select all the labels at once using this command it gives me one long Mtext string. Is there a way to convert all of the labels to mtext, but still maintaining individual entities?

Under my survey database in Survey Points I hit EDIT POINTS and it brings up the SURVEY POINTS EDITOR. It is showing up as yellow in my viewport. I checked my plot style(ctb), and is same as I have used for many years....prints black(pen 7). Typically shows green on screen and plots black. Looking in the Layer Properties Manager, I noticed that on the far right, there is a column labeled 'VP Plot Syle'. It has Color 2(yellow) shown. How do I change this as I am guessing this is causing issue.

E.g.. This Drawing is part of the consulting services provided for Project[Project_Number] and may not be used or applied for any other purpose without prior consultation.
in other word the project number should be reference in the text box from the attribute.

When you make a custom table in VB.net, adding in the Row Height property in the custom table create line only changes the data cell row heights, not the title cells or the header cell. How do yo do set the title/header cell row heights ?
