CorelDRAW X6 :: Cutting And Pasting Between Programs?
Jun 2, 2012
I have with transferring graphics between programs - that is graphics that have been "cut out" from their backgrounds. ie with transparent backgrounds.
Whenever I cut and paste out of Draw (or PP) into another program, say Serif PhotoPlus or Xara Designer, the background returns (white), and the same happens when I paste an image into Draw that has been cut out elsewhere. To all extent and purposes they become jpegs.
Yet an image "cut out" in Serif PhotoPlus can be pasted into Xara Designer with the transparency intact. It doesn't work in reverse though.
Is there a setting somewhere that would enable me to successfully transfer images out of and into Draw with transparency? Without having to export every time to png or pdf.
Cutting & pasting small lines of text within CDR x6 and it was crashing out, I discovered that after copying the lines of text, if I waited a few seconds before pasting (text was 3 words 25 characters) the there was no programme crash.
On a related issue when copying some lines of text to another small software application I encountered a Windows error report that I have never seen before "Operation Clipboard Failed" and the error information is listed below which may be of interest to our friends at Coreldraw .....
I'm having some trouble pasting selections from GIMP into other programs. If my selection is not rectangular, a black background appears when I paste it that forces it to be a rectangle instead of the shape I actually selected. The program I specifically want to paste into is AutoREALM, but just to test I've tried pasting into MS Paint and MS Word, and the same problem occurs in all of them. Is there anything I can do in GIMP to prevent it from doing this?
I was refererred by a member who speaks highly of the support here in this forum. One of the things i need to learn is how to go about cutting an image, like a car and laying it on a background. I figured out how to outline the image but creating a background and actually inserting the cutout escapes me. I work for a classic car dealership and i take the photos for the ads. I need to be able to create a nice background that i can insert every auto into, in exactly the same place.
In short all I want to do is take people out of images that I have and paste them all together in new images and add a background colour. Is there a function to cut them out, do I have to sellect them piece by piece.
I have downloaded an eps file, which I need to cut. I use a graphtec ce5000-60 cutter, and a plugin called cutting master 2 in order to use coreldraw.
when i select application launcher and choose cut / plot, it opens cutting master. when i do this, it only shows the 2 outer lines of the logo i need to cut. I have attached a screenshot so you can see exactly what I mean. I have tried lots of things to recitfy this, but as a complete beginner with this software, I really dont have a clue.
when I am working on a large drawing and/or pasting as a block, all the grey lines (colour 8) turn to white. When I select a grey line, it flicks back to grey, but de-select, and it's white again.
If I toggle on hardware acceleration, the problem is fixed for a short while, and also if I turn it off, it is fixed for a short while, and also if I save, close and re-open it's good untill I paste a block....
I suspect it may be because of my setup and an un tested graphics card:
Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate - running through bootcamp on a macbook pro
I've had a couple occurrences of X6 crashing suddenly, but a common one is when I've switched away from X6 and then try to switch back by clicking on the X6 icon on the Windows 7 taskbar. I'm running Win7 64bit. When I hover my mouse over the CDX6 icon on the taskbar, a couple of the preview mini-windows will show the Windows "working" round rotating icon for about a half second and then BAM - the windows "This Program is Not Responding" window comes up where you choose to either let windows find a solution (it never does), or just close the program.
I never have any trouble opening the program back up, or working with the exact same files that were open when it crashed. It does seem to happen when I have multiple files open, but I almost always am working with 3-4 at a time.
Using Graphics Suite X5. Windows 7 Spraying images was no problem until I attempted to add my own images. Now when I click on sprayer, the program stops. I get an error message saying some other program is shutting it down.
Yesterday when I was working with Corel Photo Paint X6 and Corel Draw X5 all of a sudden all my desktop program icons changed to show Corel Draw X6 -- also an .ink extension appeared behind all the program names. (this also happened in my "all programs" list.) Everything I click on takes me to Corel Draw X6. get things back to normal?
i'm making a newsletter in which there are pages which has to written in malayalam. i use charmap (Start>Run>Charmap). in that i make a sentence by selecting each letters.. Charmap has its own text field where the written text is displayed. from that text field i've to copy paste it to corel draw's text field.
Now the problem is whenever i paste it on corel draw's text field, the letters come a bit jumbled up. i've noticed that the vowels get jumbled up. but when i paste it on ms word, it comes as it is.
How to maybe trace the contour of one object (font) to close the lines of another object to allow it to process in Cut Studio for a Roland GX-24? Basically there's a volleyball and on a corner of the ball the font will overlap but because there are so many intersecting lines, having the cutter make the cuts would be impossible.
I did "contour" the font but the lines inside the volleyball image are not "closed" and I want it to follow the text shape to ensure uniformity instead of me trying to close every node manually.
I am using Corel Draw X5. When I paste an Excel graph into Corel the resolution looks terrible. I can paste this same graph into most other programs and it looks fine. No matter what I do and no matter which special paste command I use I am not happy with the resolution of the graph - you can actually see the pixels. When I convert to PDF you can still see the pixels.
I have made an object using the artistic media tool and I would like to copy and paste it, however when I try and paste it into my page there is nothing there but the bounding box. How do I copy and paste this object so it can be seen?
When copying text from web pages to CDX6 it will often crash on paste. A workaround is to copy to Word first but I'd rather CDR worked properly. Is there anything I could look at within CDR to stop this from happening?
When I publish something to PDF (in order to send it to a professional presser) the cutting lines are set on the 'bleed edge' instead of excluding the neccesary bleed margin of 3mm. In other words I am not able to provide any PDF document with a bleed margin which is (obviously) very frustrating for the pressing company as well as for me.
- In Publish to PDF > Settings > Pre-press I checked the cutting-line box ( I work with a dutch version so excuse me if the the right translations aren't used. Check attached file for the settings).
- When I check the box 'Aflopen' (just above the cutting line box) the PDF file turns out white.
I use CorelDraw X5. I am a novice trying to export a business card (and other work like advertisements) to JPG or PNG. When I try to export, all the edges are cut off. For example, my business card is 3.5 x 2. When I export to JPG or PNG, the export screen with the custom settings under "transformation" has my work at 3.06 x 1.75. If I try to change this to 3.5 x 2, it still does not return to the original.
After I cut a three-point curve through the middle the curviest part becomes really fat (see attached photo). I have not found options to tackle this problem. I just want to draw that half curve.
Another problem is: When I enlarge figures the wideness of the lines enlarge also. What is this? 0,3 mm wide = 0.3 mm wide. If after enlarging I try to paste the different figures together one figure has a fatter line than another, while the figures both indicate to be 0.3 mm wide. I cannot make the fat line thin enough because there is a limit in which you can make the lines thin.
I only want to draw an ascending sinus (growing amplitude) in a mathematical looking way.
I have been trying really hard now and this has ocurred several times before for me: I copy a text from MS Word and paste it into a Paragraph text frame in Corel Draw, and all I get is a line break. That's correct, just one line break, no text.
If I take just a few hundred words it pastes allright, but if I have like 14 000 characters including spaces, it fails to paste. If I paste the same amount of text into Notepad and then from there to Draw, it works alright. There seems to be a problem importing/pasting formatted text, even if you discard all fonts and formatting in the Paste text dialog.
If I go to Edit/Paste special/Text the import works, but the text does not land in the text frame selected or where you have the cursor active, instead you get the text in some randomly fomed text frames where you most likely don't want them, many times just as big as the page and with no margins.
So there definitely seems to be a problem pasting longer texts into Corel Draw.
So I have a bunch of files that were made in MS Excel using Chinese characters in SimSun font. After downloading some language packs the Excel file shows up correctly on my PC. I want to copy and paste the file into Corel. It works fine except some characters show up as a question mark. Most characters (80%) show up fine however.
I have Windows XP, Office 2003, Corel X5, and no understanding of the Chinese language.
Is there a way to cut a solid into two pieces using a non-planar cutting plane? I have been tasked with calculating the volume of concrete damage in a chute block. I have a sketch of the damage on the chute block. I created the chute block as a solid and then drew the damaged area extents using plines. This created non-planar plines. Is there a way to get this to work that will allow me to see the volume of the concrete damage? I need an easy way to do this, there are 50 chute blocks all the same size but with varying degrees of damage
Im trying to cut out the centre of the letter R below. Normally I break curve apart, select the centre, and trim it from the outer. I can then select the centre piece and remove it. As you can see, this has worked with the letters P & O. When I do it with the R it seems to have worked, to the point where I can even select the centre and remove it, but when I put it back over a coloured background, it is still white.
A customer sent me a jpeg of a white dove that they want printed on vinyl and then contour cut to put on their travel trailer. The picture was a very low dpi and I scanned it and increased the dpi to 150. I tried to trace it, but it just would not come out right.
My question is -- Can I put cutting lines around the dove as a bitmap and then be able to print and contour cut it out?
I just recently purchased a new computer and installed all my software. When I'm in corel draw and click on the icon to send to my plotter/cutter, the cutting Master 2 plug-in opens behind corel draw. It always opened in front of my corel screen on my older pc. how to get it to open in front of corel?
Im new to both coreldraw, and to the graphtec cutter, so my problem may have a very simple answer. Ive been playing around with it, learning how things work. Smaller images are no problem, but Im having trouble cutting larger images.
the plotter can cut up to a width of 610mm, and Im using 610mm vinyl. I need to cut some items that are 600mm wide. First time I tried, it left a gap on the left side of approx 50mm. It also stopped cutting approximately 20mm from the right side. next time, I loaded the vinyl into the machine 45mm further right and tried again. this time the left hand edge was positioned where I expected, but the right side still stopped in the same place as previously, leaving a gap of around 70mm on the right hand side. you would think I was trying to cut something bigger than the capacity of the cutter, but obviously this isnt the case.
if I have missed any necessary information etc, Im very new to all of this.
Have recently upgraded to corel 11, from 9, but at the same time upgraded my computer.
When I try to plot a simple circle shape on my Roland CM24 the image cuts twice and is extremely slow (juddering).
I believe the double cut is caused by the hairline & fill but messing around have only gone from double cutting each shape individually to do double cutting the whole image.
Using Corel to prepare images for cutting on a CNC plasma table. any easiest way to prepare images for cutting. With merging images, Lettering and original art work transfer. I need to convert to a DXF format to drop into the machine program (Sheetcam). I have used trace with some success. By this, I mean that the image "looked" good, but I seem to be doing something wrong because the graphic will not run on the machine.
