Is there a way to specify 1/8" bleeds on 3 sides only when either publishing to pdf or when printing to cutepdf, etc?
(for a pdf that will be imposed outside of coreldraw later)
Or do I have to just adjust the page size to include the bleeds within the page area itself on the 3 sides I want them on within coreldraw?
I am wondering if there is a way to have a bleed on three sides only. I am exporting to a pdf/x for the printers and I do not want the inside edge (book format) to have a bleed. The only way I can see around this is to make the page smaller (the size of the bleed), but I would prefer to simply remove the inside bleed itself.

How do i align/position the two sides so i get specific elements where i want them on the back side,
the problem is not with the front and i only need to position the back and specifically, i have checked out the print preview imposition tool and only seems to just print duplicate copies however many times need, unless i used it incorrectly,
I mean i could manually try to set them up and waste a lot of ink and paper positioning the two sides but i believe there is a faster/smarter method to accomplish this.
it would be nice to be able to send art I have created to customers in an interactive pdf where they may click on different shirt colors they may want to order and see their art displayed on those colors similar to clothing websites.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn my job as a cartographer I regualrly get asked to create advertisements for mining magazines. The ads usually contain both text and images. The colours I use in Coreldraw are PMS colours and the images are CMYK colours.
The problem I have is when I publish my ad to PDF the PMS colours always come out fine (which I would expect) but the image colours always look dull and washed out. The only time the images look fine when I publish to PDF is when I use output to RGB hut the printers then reject my ad (naturally). Is there something I need to do to the image in Photopaint?
All my efforts to make PDF files has failed. I get empty PDF files, and I have tried almost all variations of settings.

When publishing to pdf & I've used shadows or effects, there are color differences or shifts where the effect overlaps vector, bitmap or fonts?
Yes, I can flatten to avoid this, but our RIP doesn't see the pantone color when doing it this way. Or, I can convert all spot to CMYK, but this gives incorrect output when printed.
I've tried different settings etc, but all seem to do the same.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a problem publishing a particular file to pdf. The file is one page, with text, 9 small-size (but high-res) photos, and a couple of arrows (ie line with arrow end). Items not on the page are on the Desktop, which is set not to print. I have tried both Page as well as Selection (selecting all the objects on the page). Every time, the pfd doc appears in the requisite folder but is 0KB or 1KB and cannot be opened in a pdf program, and a window called CorelDraw(R) appears saying that CD has to close and that Windows will close it. I have never had this problem before. It is presently only with this particular file/page.

I would like to copy 3mm from the edge of the existing artwork and paste all around the edge of the artwork to extend the boundary by 3mm but GIMP won't let me do this.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am designing the layout for a 8.5" x 8.5" children's book to be uploaded to an online publisher, and they require a .25" bleed around all the outside edges, except for a no ink area of .125" on the bind side. The document must be set up for single pages rather than spread. The document must be saved as postscript so I can create the pdf using Distiller (per the printer). How do I accomodate a different set of bleeds for facing (even/odd) pages within one Illustrator document?

Is this even possible? Or will I need to use InDesign? The document is already setup in Illustrator with an individual artboard for each page, and I'd rather not go through the hassle of transferring it all to InDesign. If I must, though, what is the best option for setting it up as an InDesign document, and how can I adjust these bleeds accordingly while retaining a singlepage pdf for saving as postscript?
I have a document I created in Illustrator CS4 (Mac OSX 10.5.8) with 1/4 inch bleeds.It's a rather small document and the bleeds are very distracting (but I need them for final printing).
Is there a way to preview the document on my monitor without the bleeds? If so, how?
Is there an easy way to create bleeds and trim marks for multiple objects on the same page?
For instance, I have a playing card that I've tiled across the page 6 times ( so that I can create 6 cards out of 1 page ). Each card needs it's own bleed/trim marks.
I'd also like to have printer registration marks for the page, as I have to print the card backings on another page and then glue the two pages together.
The only way I've found that I can do this is to manually create the trim marks for each object's bleed and just have them all within 1 artboard.
I tried doing it with multiple artboards within one larger artboard, but couldn't get that to work.
Is this something that just needs to be manually done?
I am having issue with a simple project. It's a simple green chroma keying project which looks ok inside Premiere, but once exported it turns into a nightmare. I will post screens instead of writing the details. I am not using any external plugins. The output is rendered with tweaked settings for H.264 Vimeo 720p 29.97 fps MP4 format. I'm working with an NDA, but the problem is only in the shadows as far as I can tell.

Working on Adobe CS6..A sign maker has asked me to submit my artwork for different signs (quite a few of them, in different-sizes) as EPS with crop/trim marks.
For instance: The size of this sign is 24"x24" with a .25" bleed. The Artboard shows the right size, and the crop marks show uo as they should. But once I let go of the Artboard, no crop marks show on my screen.
Any crop mark I try adding via the Object ("Create Trim Marks") or Effect menu for crop marks, both cases would create them around the BLEEDS, rather than the REAL ARTBOARD, which, of course, defies the purpose of a crop or trim mark...
I usually submit files for production saved as PDF w/bleeds & crop marks, but this sign maker wants them as EPS.Is there a way around it, other than create those marks manually?
So I am desinging a business card for a company I work for. The company we are sending them off too obviously needs to have the bleed and trims marks. The only thing I can't figure out is how do I make the bleed marks visible to them? When I print the document it shows me the trim marks but since I have a white background, it looks as if there is no border. Should I add a border to the actual Artboard?

The problem is, it just doesn't line up. If the top is aligned, the bottom and sides will be off.
Is there a way to select a few points on the path of which I know the exact position on the map and have illustrator warp, skew, resize the path and it will magically fit?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a header for a website, 500x100, that has a photo image, 300x100, in the center that has both right and left edges feathered. On the left edge it would fade to white, on the right edge it would fade to blue. Seems like I've seen similar things on other sites.
First I thought I'd just place a blue rectangle on the right half of the piece and place the image over it in the center with both edges feathered. But if I feather one edge (with the gradient tool), trying to feather the other edge undoes the first edge's feathering. I still don't really get working with layers.
Then I thought I'd just feather the left edge of the image and place a blue rectangle with a feathered left edge over the right edge of the image. But when I draw a rectangle, the gradient tool doesn't work and I can't feather the edge. If I select the tool and click in the rectangle I get a message that the content of the layer isn't directly editable and I can't figure out how to make it editable.
At this point, I'm not even sure what method I should be using to accomplish this task. Should I be feathering one edge and blurring the other? I think I did get it done once before by starting with an image that had lots of extra height, feathering all 4 edges and cropping off the top and bottom feathered parts but this image doesn't have that much extra to work with.
I'm sure these are stupid questions but the tutorials, tips and how-to's I've looked at always seem talk about how to feather one or all edges, not two. It doesn't help that I'm still not really familiar with all the tools and terminology.
I would certainly appreciate at least a pointer to what methods I should be using. I feel like I'm trying to use a chisel as a screwdriver.
