When I create a pdf and choose 'selection' in the 'Export range' they always end up with a white box around them. See sample attached. This did not happen to me with X3, why now with X5? Will this white box be there when it goes to print?

I am using Select --> Color Range with a specified "fuzziness" threshold, but I'd rather make the selection based on specific Lab values instead of random pixels that I choose with my eye dropper. Is there a way to do this in Photoshop, or does anyone know of a plug-in that might do this?

I have two contiguous clips in the timeline. I want to select the tail of the first one and the head of the second one to copy and paste somewhere else. With this tool, I can click and drag to select any segment of any number of clips, regardless of their in/out points.
Note: It is not under the Selection tab in the menu.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a trick to getting the new Color Range selection function to work on a retina Mac Book Pro? I am quite familiar with the color range selection in the previous version of Photoshop, and used it regularly. I've decided to try as simply as possible by using a flat image (no layers), and trying to select colors. I've increased the contrast in the image to make dark and lights much easier to pull out.
I've explored setting the sample size to point-sample up to 3x3, and 5x5. I've also set the resolution of my display to 2880 x 1800 (to reduce the possibility of anti-aliasing problems). It will not make any selection though, using the eye-dropper sample. Using other options will work, such as Highlights, Shadows, Skin Tones, etc., but it won't do anything with Sampled Colors.

See the examples below. I have a table with 24 different colors. When I determine to create a custom palette with 24 shades of this table, all colors are added to my custom palette (pic. 1).
Now, assuming I double them to 48 tones, which the criterion adopted by CorelDRAW to create the midtones? Note that Green color, in the second row (pic.2), has not an intermediary tone, while for White (last color) were created three options.
the whole box cant be widened...if i go to te edge i get arrows to widen the box but they don't work...i can't choose a destination folder..
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm on a project where I need to export displacement maps / normal maps from zBrush 4.0 to Softimage 2012.
Im using the "Multi Map Exporter" to export the maps out of zBrush.
I know that I have to use the "change range node" between the image and the displacement port of the material and set the displace geometry approx. to "Fine" and play with the settings.
So my questions are:
1. Is there a way to calculate the exact ranges for the "change range node" for the map or is this gueswork?
2. In the geometry approximation what kind of settings are normaly appropriate in terms of mixing rendering speed and highlevel detail (look).
3. I exportet a normal map and pluged it with standart settings to the bump port of the material but the light seems to be inverted. How can I solve this?
I would like to create an action where a user is able to choose from a particular set of patterns (created by me) and excluding all the others (that may be present otherwise) from view. My action is currently working either from choosing from the whole pattern set (using insert menu item in the action), or a single pattern of my choice. (no insert item menu used).
I want the user to choose from my set of pattern in this particular instance but not the others that are currently in the presets.
I had the idea of making the action replacing temporarily the patterns with my set (replace patterns in the drop down menu) and then reset or load the user's set at the end of the action. It made me think that maybe people wouldn't want me to mess with their presets in an action.
I am currently using PSCS4.
I can either use a new pattern layer or a new "blank layer" with a pattern overlay (layer style)

I LOVE the fact that we now have ability to create a non-circular shape with the Spot Removal tool (Q). But one of my favorite things about it previously (LR4 & previous) was you could click-drag to create a spot & drag to the sample area you wanted in ONE step. Now, obviously, if you click-drag you get a non-circular shape. So if you want just a circular spot you have to click... wait for it to select a sample area on it's own... and then either (a) drag that sample area where you want it, or (b) hit "/" to change sample area guesses until it grabs one you like.
SO... I wonder if there's any way, like a keyboard shortcut or key hold-down, that allows you to click-drag a circle spot to get the sample you want in one step, like we could previously....?

I create the sampleline on the option "by a range of stations" so the sample lines were created on the horizontal geometry points. When I change the geometry of the alignament, the sample lines's local change or I need to do the process all over again?

View 11 Replies View RelatedI have a radius that is spread between 10 and 40 degrees that I need to evenly space 6 line segments throughout.
What this is for is a property with 5 lots along a curved street. Each lot is the same size and I am trying to draw just the sections that are affected. I have tried using the star feature and reducing it to single lines, but they do not space evenly and getting the line number is very difficult. I have tried dividing the angle range and come up with the correct angle and spacing but this is also an issue. Is there any way to do this without dragging each line separately?
Will Corel6 (or later) ever be able to export to a web page directly since the HTLM export doesn't work (drops links). The Corel Web program, or what ever its name is, was a joke. Its amazing that Corel work puts its name on a program that you could not open a CorelDraw file.
My current work around is to export to a JPG and then import that into dreamweaver and add the links there, then post. A pain but it works.
I typically filter out the stuff I don't want and only select the stuff I leave in for the NWC export. (3D view)

Let's say, for example, that i create an object with a size, then i create other objects with other sizes.
When I try to see the size of the first object created it says that has the same size like the other objects which have other sizes (it's even obvius cause they r bigger on my screen:D).With all the other versions of Corel i didn't had those problems, but X5 does that.
When using the marquee tool, clicking and dragging would create and resize the selection marquee. Holding down the space bar, without releasing the mouse button, would then temporarily allow me to reposition the marquee, and releasing the space bar would allow me to go back to resizing the marquee.Well, I just had the opportunity to tutor somebody in Photoshop, and she had the newest version. I went to show her the above trick, and all that happened was the selection got frozen and its x and y values got displayed.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a selection out of the square marquee tool with rounded corners. The only way I know how to do this is to set the feather to 5px or 10px or whatever. But when I try to fill this selection with a certain color (with the paint or pencil tool) I get a gradient. That is, instead of a uniform color all throughout the selection, it's almost clear near the edges and slowly becomes opaque as you move closer to the center of the selection. I do I create a square selection with rounded edges so that filling it creates an evenly opaque color?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a very simple logo. Basically, I created two layers: one with the letter M and the other with the letter W. I now want to place another letter over top of them and then select it so I can delete the shape of the third letter from the other two and essentially be able to see the transparent background through the third letter.
I have done this in PS CS2 no problem, but I am trying to do it in illustrator so I can resize the design for anything from a business card to a billboard if needed. Bottom line is I need a solution that wont effect me being able to resize the vecotr to crazy sizes.
In the image below, the "S" is just a white letter. I need it to be a cut out through the M and W so that whatever Background it is on the page or document shows through that S space.
Is there a way I can do a multiple selection from within a group (without ungrouping)?
