May 30, 2012the whole box cant be widened...if i go to te edge i get arrows to widen the box but they don't work...i can't choose a destination folder..

Lightroom :: Get Message - Folder Could Not Be Found Though It Is Set In Export Window?
Dec 10, 2011I have been working with LR 2.7 for a while now and was happy with it.
PC - Win XP - LR3.5
Photo's stored on external hard disk (K:)
The RAW captures of a Nikon 3100 I recently won were not being recognized/imported by LR 2.7 and I installed the 3.5 version to see if it was any better. I would have to buy it anyway by the time I switch to Win7. In 3.5 the Raw files were imported, the settings of 2.7 were nicely taken over but now and I cannot export the files I have worked on to the K: drive of the external hard drive as I used to do with 2.7.
I get the message 'The folder could not be found' though it is set in the Export Window and I am looking at it in Win Explorer.
The original RAW captures are on the D: drive but that was always the case with 2.7 as well... I am doing it exactly as I used to with 2.7.
I tried with a photo from an older folder of my usual camera and everything works fine there.The problem seems to be only with the Nikon files. Now I start wondering if there is something with raw format of this Nikon camera that is putting LR in a twist...
Lightroom :: How To Export A Window Without Export Buttons At Bottom
Mar 1, 2014Win 8.1 64 bit A Toshiba Satellite laptop, LR 5.3. When I try to export I get a window without export buttons at the bottom to do the export. Further if I try to resize the export window the export window disappears and LR freezes requiring to ctrl/alt/del to close it. I cannot export anything to HD or email, etc.
I was in a class last night where everyone had Macs and the buttons appeared on their versions and worked fine. Totally repeatable. I can supply screen shots.
Makes LR totally useless.
Lightroom :: Second Copy Not Showing In Folder Display Window
Mar 27, 2012Before i import from my SD card into lightroom I create 2 named folders - one on my hard drive and another for back up on my external hd.In LR inport dialogue box I choose the hard drive folder as my main destination and select my ext hard drive folder as my make second copy to folder
I untick the make a second copy to box.I choose Copy and click import..All images are copied OK but only the hard drive folder shows up in the folders display area under library even though the back up copy shows in the ext hard drive folder.
Is it possible to get both folders to show in the display?

Oct 5, 2012Any way to allow a user to choose a folder from a default location. I thought I had found the solution but it's not quite working as I wanted:

If I use the code in example 1 the choose folder dialog appears and the 'Open' button is available and when I press the button the location is chosen as expected. However if I use the code in example 2, although the choose window opens in the path of the active documents location the 'Open' button is not able to be pressed until I select a folder., which means that the chosen location is not correct. I should indicate that I'm running this code on a Mac.
Any way to have a choose folder dialog window specify a location and be able to select that.

Jul 9, 2011Seems to no longer be able to choose a color outside the program window.. Previous versions were able to choose any color on my monitors. Might add, I miss being able to click an object and open the color editor directly..
I closed the program & reopened... It then allowed selecting a color outside the program window. Weird. And now I see that rather than "color picker on the context menu, it's "fill color". Wow, I'm losing it today.
Lightroom :: 4.2 - How To Export Folder As A Catalog
Nov 21, 2012I find that I edit files on my laptop but I want the files, with their edits to reside on my desktop computer also.
I had been exporting the folder as a Catalog, but can't think of shy I can't just copy the folder with both the RAW and XMP files and import the folder on the Desktop PC. This option seems to work just as well as the catalog option.
Any reason I should choose one way over the other? Using Lightroom 4.2?

When using this preset, however, the initial folder it navigates to upon clicking export keeps defaulting back to a library folder that I don't want exports going to. So, if my parent export folder is say c:PhotosExports and my collection name is 'Summer2012', I'd like for it to automatically export any photos in that collection to c:PhotosExportsSummer2012. Is this possible or do I need to set it manually each time?
Reason I'd like to automate this is say I'm in a rush to post up the pics, I might go ahead and export them without editing much and then manually cut and paste them from c:PhotosExports into a Summer2012 folder. If I later make edits to the photos, it'd be much handier to just use a preset export knowing that they would automatically update the files in the Summer2012 folder, rather than having to do another manual cut and paste every time, or manually select the folder if choosing the 'Choose folder later' option. Is there another way to do to what I'm looking for?

Because I use the presets to re-size images for my 40 odd web sites, this is really inconvenient. Can this behaviour be changed so that the preset remembers the selected folder? So I want to export a folder from LR onto one of my external hard drives however when I click to export my only choice is Desktop. I can open that "tree" as far as it goes but it NEVER shows Computer so I can select which external hard drive to export files to as a backup.
When I go to explorer from the start menu I can see all my files in Explorer including Computer with my external drive just not in LR.
I have restarted my computer, I have tried two different hard drive thinking it just might not recognize one of the drives but that isn't it either.
I have had this problem in the past and haven't been able to figure why sometimes I see my Computer and other times all I see is Desktop as an export option.

Dec 16, 2011I have a preset that allows me to export my photo to a subfolder of the original folder. In my case it's simply called jpg export. This allows me to do all my edits when the shot is in it's original "Date taken" folder and all my edited shots from that folder show up in the jpg export folder when I run the preset. My issue is that the jpg shows up in BOTH the original folder and the jpg export folder. I know it's operator error but what's wrong with my settings? Under Export Location I have Export To: Same folder as original photo (this is the reason for my problem but I am not sure what to change it to) Put in Subfolder: is checked and the folder is called jpg export. Add to This Catalog: is also checked.

Feb 24, 2014I was in the process of moving a folder inside or LR. I might have clicked and moved it twice since it was very slow. LR wasn't able to complete the move and gave me an error message. After I clicked "OK" on the error message, I wasn't able to find my folder/images from the old or new location. I did a spotlight search on my mac, but I wasn't able to find them anywhere. Where has my folder/images gone? I tried to locate them without any success.

Feb 16, 2014Im using the most recent version of Lightroom 5.3 (updated through CC - even though this has shown up on previous version) on Windows 7 and all the folders in my library are showing up with the directory path in front of my folder names. How can I get rid of this? I do not see any options in preferences to turn this off. I have also turned off preferences in Windows > Folder Options Control Panel "Display full Path in Title bar" option.
I have Lightroom on several computers and have set up preferences the same on each workstation, and this only shows up on one workstation.
