CorelDRAW X4 :: Break Apart Outline Design Into Individual Pieces?

I need to be able to take a design that is in outline format such as this for an example:

Converting it to an outline is really easy and I have no problems with that. However, I need each individual piece of the design to be separated out as an individual object as certain pieces would get cut out of different materials.
What is the easiest way to convert this design from one big outline design, to individual components?

I have an image of political boundary map that I want to break up so that I have an individual image for each unit, such that I could combine them back together and get the original map. For purpose of illustration, let's say it's a US state map.
I know that I could take the original image, erase everything but Washington State to alpha, save that as Washington, then undo back to the beginning, erase everything but Oregon to alpha, save that as Oregon, undo, etc, until I had all 50 states, all in the same position as on the original map. I could then easily create images of arbitrary groups of states by just combining the images of the individual states I wanted to be in the group.
But getting to that point would take 50 manual erasing for a state map, and many more on my actual map. Is there a way to break up the map in an automated way?
The map image has the boundary all in one color that isn't otherwise present in the image, so it's easy enough to select just the boundary .

I manually trace around a large, not to simple, shape, hoping my outline will be a closed shape, but sometimes it's not. I assume there's an unintentional break in it somewhere. How can I find the break and fix it without doing the trace again?

There is a layer or I would like to cal it a design which is made up of several different lines. But when I try to select a single line, the whole design gets selected/highlighted instead of a particular line in the design. What is this issue and how to overcome it? Layers are confusing in Autocad
In the top image I tried to select a single string but the whole design is highlighted where as the lower image shows it before selection.

I am doing basic graphic design in PS Elements 10. I'm creating what will be an car door magnet that is made up of images and text. I want to draw a rectangular outline around the entire design and can't figure out how. When I use the rectangle tool I get a big solid color box that covers everything else. I just want to make a bounding frame....

Is it possible to change te Break command permanently in the Break at Point command?I never use break, only break at point.
Changing te macro for break ^C^C_break to the macro for break at point ^C^C_break \_f @ doesn't work.
To do it manualy at the command prompt takes to much keyboard entries and mouse clicking.

I have created a symbol in CorelDraw X5 on a Mac using parallels.
The symbol is on a layer which is not locked, and the object which has become a symbol was grouped before I made it into a symbol. The boundary marks changed from black to blue.When I try to select Edit/Symbol/Break link, the Break link command is greyed out.

I want to know why CorelDraw won't let me select several curves at a time and break them apart simultaneously. When I select more than one (by marquee or shift key) it greys out the "break apart" command, and Control-K won't work either. I did find a work-around macro in an old post, but I don't understand why the CorelDraw programmers turn off the break-apart command for multiple selections.

Im writing a script that will use the contour tool and then break the resulting contour apart, change the outline of the contoured object and then regroup both objects.
heres what I have so far:

So in this script Shapes(2) is the contoured object that I want to change the outline of. Im guessing however it is only called shapes(2) because there was only 2 objects in the document when I wrote this script, (starting with one). In fact, if i start with a document with more than just one object, the outline change doesnt work.
I need to either leanr how to get a count of all objects in the document and assume the highest number will be the last created object and will thus be the one I need, or perhaps there is a way to instantiate the contuored shape when i call ActiveSelection.Seperate. something like
dim myContouredObject as shape
OriginalSelection + myContouredObject = ActiveSelection.Seperate
I'm sure the above wont work, just trying to be a bit more explicit about what im trying to do.
So, basically, how do i get the name of one or all of the objects resulting from a break apart?

when I switch tab once at the end of the line sits the line break outside of the paragraph text frame..The background color so then runs out of the frame.A wish at left line intent (or right) it should be possible to fill these also with the background color and a function that assigns every second line is a background color..

The imported file is probably from Illustrator. The vector element in question is text converted to curves with a CMYK bit map fill. CorelDraw X5 seems unable to extract the bitmap fill from the vectors. What's up with this, is there anyway to extract the bitmap fill?

Just a guess but with 64 bit Coreldraw maybe we would be able to Print Merge large files without crashing or having to break it into digestible bits.
Do vector conversion of complex images.Use Coreldraw like a publishing program, - kick Indesign
Computer memory is no longer the issue - 32 bit computer programs are.Until then I will stay with X4. run in Windows 7, 64 bit with 12 Gigs RAM.

New to Corel Draw X5. I recently switched from X4 (on Win XP) to X5 on Win 7. I have over 1000 files I created with a CutPath outline. I open the file - assign the new Cut Path outline I created in X5 (didn't know how to import it from X4) and after a few minutes the cutline turns white and I have to keep re-doing it.
Also, quite often the palette I created disappears and I have to keep opening it up when I open new documents.

I'm using coreldraw to engrave words with my laser machine, which is a Epilog TT24. im trying to get a thick outline on the letters so i can paint it, but so far the only thing my laser engraves is the "hairline" outline even though i tried all the other sizes. How can i get it thicker?

how to outline a word so it can vector cut on a laser engraver. I am using corel draw x5 and I am trying to put "COWBOYS" on a piece of wood and I want the letters connected so it is one piece of wood. Whenever I spell cowboys I can't configure it as hairline (to vector cut).

I'd like to ask if it is possible to change colour of outline according to filling. I've traced the raster picture (outline tracing) and there is no outline and the picture seems to be disturbed by tiny white lines. So I'd add hair outline and I'd like to have the same colour of the outline as is the object. Is there any function what is able change it at once and all at the same time?

In Coreldraw X6 just say you draw a box , now you can fill that box with any color or gradient but how can you make an outline more than 1 color? Is this possible with Coreldraw? is there maybe a macro or something that can be used.

I use this combo all the time for getting the fill I want from another object.
Is there a combo for getting the outline from another object?
What i like about this is you don't have to deselect the target object as in Right Click and Drag.

Whenever I use a spot color with a black hairline outline and export it as an eps, the colors do not register right. If you select an object after importing the eps, the fill is blank, the outline shows up black, but the color is there.
If you import it into x3, it shows up as shades of grey for all of the objects that had outlines. However, I can import the eps file, remove the outlines, export it as eps again and all the pantone spot colors come through just fine. I -CANT- be the only one with this problem. Yes, I have done some research on it, and yes, I have ghostscript installed.

i want to create a sticker out of a simple black tribal design and it is an image edited with corel photo paint.but to cut the sticker i need to obtain its outline in corel draw.doing the job with the bezier tool is a tedious job and also i dont have any experience using drawing tools.but i need an outline as if it was drawn using a drawing tool into which i can fill color.

Is there a way to create a hollow circle (or ring) that has a fill, but does not actually fill the circle with the color, just makes the outline?
Here is an image of what I need:
I am having the above laser cut out of acrylic. The laser needs to have everything that is black use a Fill and no Outline. The way it is in the file now, there is no Fill on the circle, but there is a black Outline. If I tell it to have a black Fill and no Outline (like the laser needs) I end up with a solid black circle which the laser will engrave as a solid circle instead of the "ring".

In the old version of Corel that I had, when I drew a box with no fill and only an outline the only way to select that box was by clicking on the outline. There use to be an option at the top with the tools to change this option from selecting the unfilled objected by the outline only and not the inside empty part.
I'm now using Corel x5 and cannot find that option. Does it exist?

I have some artistic text, that I converted to curves. This artistic text, included outline which I would like to keep with the text. But now - I would like to apply a fill, to fill the entire creation, including the outlines, seamlessly. Basically, replace the outline color with the fill, and the fill itself - such as linear fountain fill.
