how to outline a word so it can vector cut on a laser engraver. I am using corel draw x5 and I am trying to put "COWBOYS" on a piece of wood and I want the letters connected so it is one piece of wood. Whenever I spell cowboys I can't configure it as hairline (to vector cut).

Recently I have been making cloisonne pins and was referred to Vector Files. I take a bitmap and use the trace outline to either detailed or clip-art depending on which looks better.
My problem occurs after my artwork is finished and needing to create a general outline of the object to show what the border of the pin would be. I am also trying to provide a look with the slightest bit of depth to show how the impression of the lapel pin should look.
Use CorelDraw X for laser engraving? I did have X3 and just changed to X5 and need to cut Ovals in Flexi Brass and the file engraved fine, but did not vector cut the Red outline.

I have traced this image from a Jpeg into a Vector to colour but how can I change the black out lines into other colours. When I right click the mouse with an outline selected the colour appears around the line but there is still a fine black line in the centre of it. I want to change the actual outline into another colour
I am taking an online coreldraw class involving the rendering of a baseball with two opposing three-point curves.
Where can I find the button for the tab labelled " Outline width" or "outline pen window".
I have sent an image to a printer in eps & Ai format., but he is requesting the the logo be in an outlined vector graphic, And send it to them again in pdf format.
I have re-opened the pdf that I sent them in Illustrator and find the logo is composed of many shapes and when I use the 'direct selection tool' to select any letter within the logo, it shows an outline with many anchor points. These anchor points can be moved or re-shaped using the 're-shape' tool.
Also I can select any shape within the logo & resize and it does not seem to lose any quality at all.
Am I mistaken in thinking that this is already an outlined vector logo or is there more to it?
Any outline world maps that are actually editable in DP7? I found some but several countries could not be filled with colour.

I am trying to outline my text so that I can apply a gradient color fill and when I go to TYPE > CREATE OUTLINES it is greyed out. I try to expand the appearance and then create outlines. When I try to expand the appearance of the font, it is also greyed out.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble doing this in my current software, Serif Drawplus, PSE, Photoplus, (I have Gimp but haven't used it ever yet). And I am considering buying X6 for use in other projects. So, can x6 do this in either Photo Paint with a bitmap, or in X6 with a group of Vectors?
I want to wrap a bottle with a logo. The mesh warps aren't working for me in the above applications, and envelope warping will not work either. Transform-Warp is not present in PSE. I mention that because I see a tutorial for PS using that. How would Corel X6 Suite do this? I am considering buying the software once some questions I have about it are cleared up. I wish Corel would make the manual and tutorial videos public. I'd rather download the trial for actually using it rather than trying to see if some feature is present, or a workaround for a feature a competitor has.
I am also hoping to make in this project, some 10-20 different bottles with the logo on, of different sized bottles and different rotations of the bottles. Plan D is acquainting myself with Blender, but lets hope I don't have to go that far!

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I am basically a brand new user to ai-cs6 and have been working on a project for a friend. I've drawn up the basic components of the logo she wants, all separate individual pieces. My intention is/was to trace in each piece, and scale, rotate, and clean them up according to how the final piece should look. Where I'm running into trouble is that the sketches are not point perfect, meaning there's some shading in the hand drawn, and the lines are rough in areas. I'm trying to avoid redrawing the pieces because we both are really happy with where they're at.
What I'd like to do with ai-cs6. How to trace very simply a one line vector of the outline of the image. So instead of creating a piece that has stroke straight from the scanned in artwork, I get a single line, with multiple points, that flows the simple shape of the piece. From there it seems it would be pretty simple to just increase the stroke weight and modify the style of line to make it look how we would like. except that since the sketch has some rough line sections ai-cs6 is adding either a lot of detail and making it look pretty rough, or it's missing entire sections and leaving them blank.
Corel Draw 5 did this very nicely but it's obsolete and I can't load it onto this machine (HP all-in-one Pavilion desktop with Windows 8).
I am working with hand-drawn images but since I need to manipulate the outline/s with a 4 - 12 pixel tool, it would be great to just be editing nodes instead. Creating the image from scratch as a vector graphic would be a horrible large amount of work and is not feasible at this time.
Is there any way other than Corel Draw 5 to make the conversion from bitmap-type images to editable vector graphics, ie: editable nodes?
PS - I don't have $700 - $1000 to spend on software at this point but do have Photoshop Elements 11, Premiere 11 and Lightroom, plus GIMP and the usual. Where should I start?
I want to place a word into a square box and it should be in the centre of the box. How can I center it? I want equal spaces in between the word and the box for all four sides.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a strange problem with my Corel X5 since its re-installation due to a re-installation of my Windows 7 system (A problem of internet connexion) :
Usually, I create drawings, saved in .cdr but also in .emf to be used in Winword 2010. But, now, if I save my drawing in .emf, the drawing is planed down on the right & below sides! I mean, the border is slightly "eaten", missing!
The problem is not Word : if I open the .emf file in Paint, the drawing is already planed down! So, it's Corel fault. But why? It's the same Corel as before, my Windows environement is the same (But may be some parameters disapeared with the re-installation of Windows 7?).
By the way, if I save with .wmf format, the two borders (right & below) are "eaten" but less, the thickness of the disapeared border is very small, but it is!!! So, the result is, now, I can't have any of my drawings created with Corel in Word with their entire integrity, since a part, border at the bottom & border on the right side, is missing!
I got a word doc file but when I copy and paste the text into coreldraw I lose all the italics and bold. It's 4 pages with lots of bold and itallics and needs to be reflowed in draw but retain exact italics and bold. When I paste it into draw, I lose all the bold/italic formatting. Are there any workarounds to get the bold and italic text to copy and paste into draw?
View 17 Replies View RelatedI have been trying really hard now and this has ocurred several times before for me: I copy a text from MS Word and paste it into a Paragraph text frame in Corel Draw, and all I get is a line break. That's correct, just one line break, no text.
If I take just a few hundred words it pastes allright, but if I have like 14 000 characters including spaces, it fails to paste. If I paste the same amount of text into Notepad and then from there to Draw, it works alright. There seems to be a problem importing/pasting formatted text, even if you discard all fonts and formatting in the Paste text dialog.
If I go to Edit/Paste special/Text the import works, but the text does not land in the text frame selected or where you have the cursor active, instead you get the text in some randomly fomed text frames where you most likely don't want them, many times just as big as the page and with no margins.
So there definitely seems to be a problem pasting longer texts into Corel Draw.
I have some text in a paragraph frame that I want it to be in full justify but when I apply it the spaces between the words get messed up, some of them become too small and in some cases the words get so close to each other that you almost can't read the text. Also the words in the last line get also very close to each other and that ruins my design.
I have tried inceasing the kerning but this affects the space between the characters too and I don't want that. What I need is a way to correct manually the spacing between the words. I tried doing so by increasing the word spacing from the "Paragraph Formating" docker but for some reason it doesn't work at all.
I have created a Marketing presentation in corelDRAW now I want to export it in MS Word format with as it is look and feel and editable text.

I have a word that has an orange outline. Then it has a transitional blend going from yellow to the same orange as the outline.
I have worked out that I can use the eye dropper tool then use the right mouse button with the fill bucket, this will give me the color that the eye dropper picked.
But how do I then use the eye dropper tool to do a fountain fill. The yellow I need to copy is not a standard color that is found on my colors to my right. So I need to some how use the eye dropper tool to set the first and second transition colors.
I have drawings created in X5 taht i need to put into word documents, i have in the past done this many times with no issues, i now have a drawing that will paste in, but some objects are missing, and some text is missing.
I have tried all of the Paste special options, the only one that will put all objects in is bitmap, with all others objects are missing.
If i print as PDF all objects are there, if i Export the graphic for Office, using compatibility mode places all objects, but if i choose editable mode the same objects disappear
I am just writing my math book on Corel Draw and unfortunately I could not import correctly all the information from Word, this because all those formulas which I have done in Word using the equation editor could not be transferred to Corel Draw. View 4 Replies View RelatedNew to Corel Draw X5. I recently switched from X4 (on Win XP) to X5 on Win 7. I have over 1000 files I created with a CutPath outline. I open the file - assign the new Cut Path outline I created in X5 (didn't know how to import it from X4) and after a few minutes the cutline turns white and I have to keep re-doing it.
Also, quite often the palette I created disappears and I have to keep opening it up when I open new documents.
I'm using coreldraw to engrave words with my laser machine, which is a Epilog TT24. im trying to get a thick outline on the letters so i can paint it, but so far the only thing my laser engraves is the "hairline" outline even though i tried all the other sizes. How can i get it thicker?

I'd like to ask if it is possible to change colour of outline according to filling. I've traced the raster picture (outline tracing) and there is no outline and the picture seems to be disturbed by tiny white lines. So I'd add hair outline and I'd like to have the same colour of the outline as is the object. Is there any function what is able change it at once and all at the same time?
