Dec 3, 2008I have a frustrating problem in CS3 that when writing a block of text, either with text tool or area text tool, that the cursor disappears. I need to see its new position after using the space bar or tab: ready to input the next piece of text.
It seems to be flashing some of the time if I click into the middle of the text block, but disappears where I want to continue it at the bottom of the text block?

The courser always stays one character in front and also the courser direction is vise versa, not like Arabic.Also Non - Breaking Space and Non - Breaking Hyphen doesn't work properly in Farsi and Arabic type. However this problem didn’t exist in Corel Draw Version 13.0.0.576. The files which have been created by Corel Draw 11, 12, 13, when being opened with the 14 version the texts get disarranged. These problems exist in Windows XP Service Pack 2 and also Windows Vista.

Aug 16, 2013I am having problems when trying to paste text from Microsoft word. the pasted text becomes unreadable / corrupted. Well here is my situation, I have a large number of text that I'm trying to insert into Corel Draw X4.
and if I convert the word document to PDF, I receive the same thing. I tried importing the text as image, worked but can't edit the text nor the text is in good quality (quality is very poor, cannot be used for plot)
I am using Microsoft Vista x64 / Arabic enabled (can type just about everything in MS Word/Excel etc...)
By the way, I can type the text in corel, and it works great, but I have some 200 pages, so you get the idea! it's hard work for me to type all the 200 pages :

May 15, 2010I have installed Corel Draw X5 on a machine running XP Home (SP3) that more than matches the minimum specs required.
Have been a user of Corel Draw since version 7,8, 9 and 12.
When I type text using any True Type Arabic fonts in Corel Draw X5 the text just appears as blank squares. If I apply an outline to the text then it appears fine but if I then try to edit the text it goes back to appearing as blank squares. (Square are not filled, just outlines). This happens when typing text as artistic text or paragraph text.
It is the same in the drop down list for selecting a font when previewing a font it just appears as blank squares.
I do not have this problem with Corel Draw 7,8 or 9. All my Arabic fonts appear fine in these earlier versions of Corel Draw and in other software. This problem first arose with Corel Draw 12 but I learn to live with it but am very disappointed it is still happening in X5.
On another note X5 appears to be not fit for purpose due to the number of problems I am and other users are having with it.

Jul 9, 2011New to Corel Draw X5. I recently switched from X4 (on Win XP) to X5 on Win 7. I have over 1000 files I created with a CutPath outline. I open the file - assign the new Cut Path outline I created in X5 (didn't know how to import it from X4) and after a few minutes the cutline turns white and I have to keep re-doing it.
Also, quite often the palette I created disappears and I have to keep opening it up when I open new documents.
CorelDRAW X5 :: Text Partially Disappears?
Dec 12, 2010Since uprading to X5, virtually every file with text that I open has a problem. All text (artistic or paragraph) is visible when selected with Pick Tool but when Text Tool is selected, the text "disappears" either partially or totally. Very difficult to edit! Invisible text areas can be highlighted but not seen.
On the same page, when editing different different blocks of text, some have become totally invisible, or, just at the bottom of a paragraph, or just as a strip down the right hand side of artistic text (almost as though a white box was placed over it). Where there is a red underline, indicating a possible spelling mistake, the red line is still visible althought the text is not!
It is invisible in any Text Tool View - Enhanced - Wireframe etc.
Text reappears if I click on bottom middle handle (eg to flow to another paragraph) but as soon as released, it disappears again.
Ctrl W works rarely and only partially. I have tried different basic fonts with exactly same results. (eg Arial, Times NR)
Select text with Pick tool and there is full text again.
In the nature of my business I hardly have a file without text in it!
CorelDRAW X5 :: Unable To Use Drawings In Word - Borders Missing?
Sep 8, 2012I have a strange problem with my Corel X5 since its re-installation due to a re-installation of my Windows 7 system (A problem of internet connexion) :
Usually, I create drawings, saved in .cdr but also in .emf to be used in Winword 2010. But, now, if I save my drawing in .emf, the drawing is planed down on the right & below sides! I mean, the border is slightly "eaten", missing!
The problem is not Word : if I open the .emf file in Paint, the drawing is already planed down! So, it's Corel fault. But why? It's the same Corel as before, my Windows environement is the same (But may be some parameters disapeared with the re-installation of Windows 7?).
By the way, if I save with .wmf format, the two borders (right & below) are "eaten" but less, the thickness of the disapeared border is very small, but it is!!! So, the result is, now, I can't have any of my drawings created with Corel in Word with their entire integrity, since a part, border at the bottom & border on the right side, is missing!

It's 4 pages with lots of bold and itallics and needs to be reflowed in draw but retain exact italics and bold. When I paste it into draw, I lose all the bold/italic formatting. Mar 4, 2011I have been trying really hard now and this has ocurred several times before for me: I copy a text from MS Word and paste it into a Paragraph text frame in Corel Draw, and all I get is a line break. That's correct, just one line break, no text.
If I take just a few hundred words it pastes allright, but if I have like 14 000 characters including spaces, it fails to paste. If I paste the same amount of text into Notepad and then from there to Draw, it works alright. There seems to be a problem importing/pasting formatted text, even if you discard all fonts and formatting in the Paste text dialog.
If I go to Edit/Paste special/Text the import works, but the text does not land in the text frame selected or where you have the cursor active, instead you get the text in some randomly fomed text frames where you most likely don't want them, many times just as big as the page and with no margins.
So there definitely seems to be a problem pasting longer texts into Corel Draw.
CorelDRAW X5 :: Word Spacing When Using Full Justify In Paragraph Text?
May 22, 2011I have some text in a paragraph frame that I want it to be in full justify but when I apply it the spaces between the words get messed up, some of them become too small and in some cases the words get so close to each other that you almost can't read the text. Also the words in the last line get also very close to each other and that ruins my design.
I have tried inceasing the kerning but this affects the space between the characters too and I don't want that. What I need is a way to correct manually the spacing between the words. I tried doing so by increasing the word spacing from the "Paragraph Formating" docker but for some reason it doesn't work at all.
