I am just writing my math book on Corel Draw and unfortunately I could not import correctly all the information from Word, this because all those formulas which I have done in Word using the equation editor could not be transferred to Corel Draw. The work-arounds posted in various forums don't seem to work with complex mathematical symbols, adding fonts to the system doesn't seem to work, WMF/EMF also getting messed up, and so on. As Mathtype works flawlessly e.g. in MS Office and Open Office, the question is what is CDR doing...
I recently tried another program, "Aurora" [URL] , which renders *Latex* equations as vector OLE objects - quite nice (there are a couple of other Latex OLE solutions out there, but this one has the options I need). Free trial version.
Aurora supports both vector and bitmap rendering. Vector rendering works perfectly in all programs I tried, except ... Coreldraw. Choosing vector rendering shows some horrible font substitution. I tried adding the Latex fonts to the Windows system, but the problem seems to prevail (and all the other programs, e.g. Word, OO, work fine without doing this). But maybe it is just my version and system configuration.
I want to make a pattern using some hand written script in French.

And would I just run it like i run the non-batch version, like, from a document? When I try to export an image I get the error "An error occurred when writing the property "Revision number" to the file". The file still exports but I would like to get rid of this error.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a strange problem with my Corel X5 since its re-installation due to a re-installation of my Windows 7 system (A problem of internet connexion) :
Usually, I create drawings, saved in .cdr but also in .emf to be used in Winword 2010. But, now, if I save my drawing in .emf, the drawing is planed down on the right & below sides! I mean, the border is slightly "eaten", missing!
The problem is not Word : if I open the .emf file in Paint, the drawing is already planed down! So, it's Corel fault. But why? It's the same Corel as before, my Windows environement is the same (But may be some parameters disapeared with the re-installation of Windows 7?).
By the way, if I save with .wmf format, the two borders (right & below) are "eaten" but less, the thickness of the disapeared border is very small, but it is!!! So, the result is, now, I can't have any of my drawings created with Corel in Word with their entire integrity, since a part, border at the bottom & border on the right side, is missing!
I got a word doc file but when I copy and paste the text into coreldraw I lose all the italics and bold. It's 4 pages with lots of bold and itallics and needs to be reflowed in draw but retain exact italics and bold. When I paste it into draw, I lose all the bold/italic formatting. Are there any workarounds to get the bold and italic text to copy and paste into draw?
View 17 Replies View RelatedI have been trying really hard now and this has ocurred several times before for me: I copy a text from MS Word and paste it into a Paragraph text frame in Corel Draw, and all I get is a line break. That's correct, just one line break, no text.
If I take just a few hundred words it pastes allright, but if I have like 14 000 characters including spaces, it fails to paste. If I paste the same amount of text into Notepad and then from there to Draw, it works alright. There seems to be a problem importing/pasting formatted text, even if you discard all fonts and formatting in the Paste text dialog.
If I go to Edit/Paste special/Text the import works, but the text does not land in the text frame selected or where you have the cursor active, instead you get the text in some randomly fomed text frames where you most likely don't want them, many times just as big as the page and with no margins.
So there definitely seems to be a problem pasting longer texts into Corel Draw.
I have some text in a paragraph frame that I want it to be in full justify but when I apply it the spaces between the words get messed up, some of them become too small and in some cases the words get so close to each other that you almost can't read the text. Also the words in the last line get also very close to each other and that ruins my design.
I have tried inceasing the kerning but this affects the space between the characters too and I don't want that. What I need is a way to correct manually the spacing between the words. I tried doing so by increasing the word spacing from the "Paragraph Formating" docker but for some reason it doesn't work at all.
I have created a Marketing presentation in corelDRAW now I want to export it in MS Word format with as it is look and feel and editable text.

I have a word that has an orange outline. Then it has a transitional blend going from yellow to the same orange as the outline.
I have worked out that I can use the eye dropper tool then use the right mouse button with the fill bucket, this will give me the color that the eye dropper picked.
But how do I then use the eye dropper tool to do a fountain fill. The yellow I need to copy is not a standard color that is found on my colors to my right. So I need to some how use the eye dropper tool to set the first and second transition colors.
I have drawings created in X5 taht i need to put into word documents, i have in the past done this many times with no issues, i now have a drawing that will paste in, but some objects are missing, and some text is missing.
I have tried all of the Paste special options, the only one that will put all objects in is bitmap, with all others objects are missing.
If i print as PDF all objects are there, if i Export the graphic for Office, using compatibility mode places all objects, but if i choose editable mode the same objects disappear

1 rectangle (with width and height parameters and stretch actions)
1 Attribute called "ForcePerSQIN" - the value of this is entered separately for every instance of the block by the user
1 Attribute called "Total Force"
In the "Total Force" attribute, I want to create a field that contains a formula to multiply the area of the rectangle (which I am able to obtain with no problems using the Area property of the rectangle object type) by the value of the "ForcePerSQIN" attribute, which is user-defined. The problem I have is that it appears as if the value of this attribute is treated as text and thus cannot be used in the calculation; I get ######.
Is there a way to make the "ForcePerSQIN" parameter treat the user-defined value as a number instead of text so that it can be used in the calculation? Or is there a better way to accomplish my ultimate goal?

If the user tries to enter any value other than the 3 values specified (whether by typing or pulldown), a message comes up stating they cant do that. The names for the systems have been simplifed for this example but the spelling is critical to the external database. I have tried but but I keep getting the follwoing is not a valid family parameter: X. X because thats the first conditional value.Â
I am in the process of making a photobook using Lightroom and discovered when I reached page 240 that I couldn't add any additional pages, much to my surprise. I was surprised because I knew from Blurb's website that the limit for standard paper is 440 pages and mistakenly assumed that this limit would also apply within Lightroom. I did more research online and found many others being surprised by this limitation after spending hours and days on a photo book. I will likely work around this by exporting from Lightroom to .jpg and uploading to Blurb, but that will take extra time and effort and reduces the appeal of using Lightroom to create a Blurb book. I had also tried exporting from Lightroom to .pdf only to find that the .pdf format exported by Lightroom is not compatible with the requirements of Blurb.

QUESTION:
Is it possible to obtain a drawing tablet which can be taken out, away from the computer and be used like a sketch-book when out and about? Then, after coming home with this drawing tablet, connect it into the computer and upload all the sketches you've done when out?
I presently use a Wacom Bamboo which connects into my laptop, but I sometimes would like to just take the 'Bamboo' out - draw on it like an electronic sketchbook - come home and put all my sketches into the computer for further work.
