When I try to import a file it freezes up. It doesn't even give me an option to select type of file. It pulls up the screen where you would be able to but freezes and will not let me do anything. I use Windows XP.
I received an EPS file of 183MB in size, and I would like to convert it into JPEG for viewing, but Coreldraw crashes during the import, bringing up the ARM. I can open it with Illustrator, but couldn't export it, getting insufficient memory message no matter how small the output JPEG size and resolution is.
I've had same issue with importing EPS file into X5 in the past, but usually will be successful after a few tries. But this time it simply crashes every single time.
My partner passed me a .PAT file she'd used as a background in her graphics. When I tried to use Fill Tool>Pattern Fill and load the file, it gave me the following error:
"Either '(file path).pat' is not importable using the selected filter, or this format in not supported"
I know that Corel supports .pat, but what would be the correct filter?
I have a pdf file I want to edit in the coreldraw. I have imported the file successfully after that when I select text it selecting only one character instead of selecting word. How to edit the words in the imported files.
I've got some PDF's that I'd like to convert to a DXF or DWG. Is it as simple as Import>>>PDF then Export>>>DXF? or are there other hoops I'd need to jump through.
I am new to Corel Draw and am slowly teaching myself. I created a drawing in Corel Draw and then exported it to DXF. I then opened them in a CAD application to actually cut the image out in a water jet. The size of the drawing was not modified, only the corners were fillet (because I could not figure it out in Corel Draw at that time). When I imported it back into COrel Draw to fill it with my image, the size of the drawing was about a 1/2 " bigger (width and height) than it was when I exported it. This is the only place where the size is different.
When I try to import a pdf file that I have scanned with my printer, corel X6 says either "file is corrupt" or something about not enough memory to perform the action. I have 2 different work stations with 2 separate printers (both the same brand and model) and have tried scanning and importing and get the same message from both now.
It always worked before. I can open the pdf document in Adobe and it is fine, so I don't think the file is corrupt, rather it is something in corel that is stopping it from importing. There are no updates outstanding for my computer.
I'm trying to import a powerpoint 2007 file in X4, but coreldraw says that it doesn't support pptx format. the pdf of the powerpoint created is not upto the mark. my file contains flowcharts. I tried using the office pdf maker [the microsoft one] and doPDF 7 to create pdfs which were of bad quality. I want to import the shapes as vector which ain't happening
I have an eps file that fades in color when imported to Corel Draw X4. Could there be something missing in the Adobe Illustrator eps file that causes this or is it a problem with Corel?
I'm using Corel Draw X4 with the SmartDesigner X4 add-on package. Also, I recently added a sublimation printer to the mix. But, it doesn't seem to matter which printer I send the image to, the colors are faded in Corel draw even before I attempt to print.
I suppose when you open a file in Corel draw, it is loaded to RAM and apart from cases when the file is autosaved or backup is done etc it should not depend on actual drive on which the original file is saved.
However I have very often problems recently with corel freezing for some time when just trying to move even small object inside the file. I am using network drive and write speed on it is not the fastest but still 25MB per sec. I am thinking of upgrading to 1Gb but my crucial question is:
Is it at all possible that internal work within a document is somehow dependant on connection speed with the drive? It doesn't happen all the time but when it happens there are no processes in the background that could possibly affect the Corel Draw performance.Graphic Designer, Web designer and playing with Video and Audio mixing and editing as well ;-).Working for Large Format Printing company Carrick Signs.
I upgraded my Corel Draw to X6 version about 3 months ago. It worked perfect until a few days ago, since in started to freeze when doing simple operations as copying a vector image or a text or exporting a document (for example a vector image to .png or .pdf)
The funny part is that we have two computers in our office with Corel installed, and both of them have the same problem. We checked with our IT department, did all the upgrades to Corel and Windows, did a repair to Corel, and still, same problem.
In VSX4, a particular VSP file is freezing but other VSP’s can be edited without problem.
It freezes during playback of the project, and individual scenes - audio and video. I have deleted individual clips - but it freezes at a different clip or at a different place entirely. I can play the first 17 minutes or so, but then it freezes. If I restart the program and play at any point after the 17 minute mark it freezes, sometimes immediately other times after a few munutes. Even scrolling after the 17 minute mark sometimes triggers it.
The message is: “Corel VS Pro has stopped working”. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
To try and resolve this I have:
Uninstalled and reinstalled VSX4 Pro
Updated to SP2
Updated QT and Direct X
System Restore
Full system scan

I am having issues with my computer completely freezing while performing a File, Open process. I'm in drawing 1, I save it, then go to open drawing 2. Drawing 1 will save, the open file window pops up. With me so far? While navigating through the file directory tree, my computer freezes. I do not chose a file that freezes during opening. It is during the process of getting to the folder drawing 2 resides in, and then it freezes. This happens to me multiple times a day. Ctrl +Alt+Delete will not work. I have tried letting my computer sit, as you would with a program not responding, and it doesn't unfreeze. The only option I am left with is a hard reboot. The only other program I have running is my MS Outlook.
I have been back and forth with our IT person, and because he can't replicate the problem (after trying one file open), he can't figure it out, or doesn't want to.
I am running AutoCad 2012 with a Dell Precision T3500, 2.13ghz, intell xenon E5506 processor, and 4gb of RAM. After looking at the system requirements, and reading that 2012 needs a 3.0 or higher processor, could this be the route of my issue?
This happens repeatedly as I open the program and attempt to open a file. The "open file" dialog box flashes for a split second then disappears and the Photoshop program freezes up.
-Inventor 2013 SP1.1 (Issue) -Inventor 2011 SP2 (No Issue)
Templates have been coverted up from 2011, keeping copies of the old templates in separate folders all under the same parent directory.Have 2013 mapped to the folder with updated templates located on a network drive. Total of 18 temolates including the standard templates.
The Issue:I start Inventor 2013 or open an .ipt/.iam ect. I now want to create a new file so I click the "New" Icon.Inventor freezes for 10-15seconds and finally shows the templates. After that if you click on any of the templates it freezes instantly. Or if you scroll the browser bar down to navigate the folder. 15-35 seconds
After selecting the correct template it freezes for about 15 seconds. For those keeping track Thats 40-65 seconds just to open a drawing...
For Inventor 2011.Click, Click, Click. Open...Takes maybe 5 seconds.
So, I'm trying to create a repeat pattern of a Balloon illustration I've done in Adobe Illustrator. I've got the singular file (balloon.ai), which weighs in at around 700MB.
Now I'm trying to create the repeat of this pattern on a separate Artboard which will repeat these balloons, 30 balloons per repeat square to be precise.
What would be the best way to import these separate balloons into the repeat square once (as they're the same file) without affecting the weight of the file and performance of Illustrator?
So, in essence, is there a way to import that balloon.ai file and only have it use up 700MB on the page rather than 30x700MB by the time I've placed 30 balloons?
I can't rasterize the files as the printer needs the raw file.
I use Coreldraw SE3 (Students Edition 3) and it works fine for my limited needs. Sometimes however when I try to import a pdf file into CD I get a message saying "file is corrupted" and it usually happens when the sender uses (I think( latest versions of Illustrator.Just a guess though. There is nothing wrong with the file I am trying to import though. Operating system is Windows XP.
Im trying to import an EPS file in my Corel X5. Im note sure why it is not working but my first question is if there is any update that can handle postscript 3.1.
I just noticed that X6 crashes (freezes completely) when importing a "corrupt" pdf document. When I import the exact same file in X5, I receive the prompt "The file is corrupted." OK and I am back to where I started. X6 just hangs..... and never returns, you have to kill X6 and reload losing some of if not all the work you did prior to a save. Not good.
I've recently upgraded to Corel Draw X5 having used many previous versions (back to Corel 6) but i'm having a few issues when importing .EPS files.
I normally do a design in AutoCAD, then export to .eps, then import into Corel.
Im finding an issue though, when I import an EPS that contains text, the middle section of the text will not combine and fill correctly.
For example, if I were to import a letter "Q" when I then combine the outer section to the middle section in previous versions the letter would appear normally, with a "Hollow" inner section. However, in X5, I combine the letter and the inner section does not combine with the outer section, leaving me with a solid black symbol, with the outline of a letter "Q" but no centre piece to define the actual character.
I've taken over the spot as art person, and to put it nicely I don't know what I'm doing. I'm not sure if I did it or another person who has been on the program. but now when I am accepting files PDF CDR from other people I am no longer recieving the option to import as text or curves. It is automatically importing them as curves. Which is all fine and dandy for fonts I do not have but it leaves me unable to edit the text as needed without having to redo all the text for the fonts I do have.
Where can I find the option to make that option re-pop up when I am importing stuff?
I work exclusively in coreldraw x4 but am need someone who works in illustrator, which means they need to be able to open my files, work on them, send them back and then i need to be able to open them in x4. don't care what file types are involved as long as i end up back with a .cdr file that still has all the important info like groups, font details, accurate cmyk values, lenses, pattern fills and gradient fills intact. etc.
since i also have illustrator on my machine i thought i'd do some tests to see if this works and here's what i've found:
1. cdr files saved as ai seem to open perfectly in ai with the exception of color changes in pattern fills. (they look essentially the same but CMYK values are oddly different.) they stay in the altered cmyk values coming back into corel.
2. coming back to corel some teeny tiny amount of info just plain disappears (in this case, some outlines)
i've tried bring it in as a pdf file and ai (and yes, importing both times) but still the issues.
having a problem with x6 importing Eps as text or curves X6 is a nightmare. have made eps files from pdfs imports fine in x5 opens in illustrator cs6. The files re distill to pdf in acrobat no problem. used corel since windows 286 have finally given up, due to font handling change and plugin issues. on to cs6.
I need to import DXF files to Corel, but when I import them, the text appear as paragraph text, not as artistic text...that's not a problem if the paragraph text includes all the text...but it do not do that. Some texts appears as paragraph with red lines (so it is not possible to see it, as well as not possible to convert directly to artistic with Ctrl+F8). Also, some paragraph text appear as 2 lines instead of just one, because it do not feed in wide but yes in height.
I would like to import the text directly as artistic...or as paragraph, but with the same appearance of the original DXF file.
I am currently working with gnuplot and some graphical output I want to postprocess in corel. I get a correct .eps file however when I want to import those files I get some font problem. For example: my degree symbol ° gets somewhat confused with another letter é. Same goes for some symbols like the greek theta. In gnuplot I use that /Symbol t for theta and its also correct in the output. However if it goes to corel it gets confused with these symbols and imports the curves wrong.
I downloaded the Corel Designer Suite X6 trial version yesterday. The downloading and the installation course ran problem free. The installation was finished successfully The programs were installed on Windows 7- 64 bit platform. After the installation I started to work with the Designer X6 and it was running correctly. I tried to import a 3D dwg. file into a new blank drawing and Corel started up XVL Studio program.
I tried to import one of my existing dwg. 2013 file in the XVL but during the process an error occurred. I tried again with different versions dwg and dxf files but XVL just couldn't import the files and I always was given the same messages. "Unable to import ... file". I'd like to insert my existing 3D drawing as vector graphic in Corel in order to editing technical illustration.
