I have tasks which require frequent subtle changes to assemblies. These assemblies will then be given a completely new file name, so it is no longer just a revision change but a new part altogether.

Jul 8, 2011I am attempting to change the thread format in inventor under the dimensions style editor, but it is grayed out and does not let me select anything from the drop down box. I want to display the thread information so it includes the unit. For example, this is what it shows now: 1/2 - 14 NPT. I want to change it to 1/2" - 14 NPT. What I need to do to be able to change the thread format in the dimension style editor?
By the way, I have a lot of drawings to do, so manually typing in 1/2" - 14 NPT will take sometime, so I am looking for a quick and easy fix.

Can i copy the pencil drawing off the background, and after brushing the other layers fix it onto them, so the pencil lines show up clearly? if yes, how would i have to do this?

Aug 5, 2009I am starting with a scanned pencil drawing, which often has very broken, rough lines, no matter how dark or clean I try to draw. I am looking to turn these lines into clean, solid lines, of one uniform color, for use in another program which relies on completed loops and no breaks in lines.
I've tried tools such as Trace Contour, but this isn't doing quite what I'm looking for. I'm very new to Photoshop, so I'm hoping there is something I am missing. Something like the magnetic lasso would work wonders, if only I could brush that line instead of making a selection.

Sep 27, 2013In any case, I have a drawing I did with a pencil, and then I scanned it. Now, I want to scan it, and then paint over it. I have figured out how to paint over the scan, but I am not producing the result I want.
I have attached my scanned image, and the painting. My issue is, I want to have a digital feel to my painting; that is, I want to get rid of the penciling. I am wondering how to accomplish this. I am hoping that I won't have to manually ink the picture.

CorelDRAW X5 :: Crashes When Run PowerTRACE?
Jul 11, 2011I keep having the experience that when I run PowerTRACE it says the bitmap is too large and must be reduced to trace. If I click cancel, X5 crashes immediately. If I click reduce it works sometimes and crashes sometimes. I tried tracing some of the same bitmaps in X3 and they worked fine. Is there something I need to change to allow PowerTRACE in X5 to run more smoothly? Is there a way to up the memory allotted to the program?
I'm running XP SP3 with an Intel Core 2 E8400 processor and 4gb of ram (3 of which XP actually knows how to use.) Not the most spectacular setup but it worked fine with X3. I tried adjusting the quality vs. performance option in the PowerTRACE settings but I can tell any difference.

Dec 27, 2011I am designing a logo of the sun rising over the earth from the perspective of earth orbit. The general look will be of the sun(looks like a star) illuminating a narrow crescent of the earth. I am working on a picture, trying to adapt it for the logo. I need to change the white sunlight to be yellow/red - can't seem to isolate the colors from the mix of earth colors or black background colors they mix with. Another thing I need is to use a white background instead of the black background of the picture taken from space. Is there a way to convert all the colors that are a mix of the black background and something else to be changed to be as if the background was white?

Apr 18, 2013I have CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 trying to use PowerTrace to trace a bitmap image. The PowerTrace window does not display when I select the object; go to Trace Bitmap --> Outline Trace --> and choose one of the types to trace. No window pops up. I can only press ESC to exit the action or ENTER which does a trace but apparently a Quick trace, not giving me the chance to refine the trace.
I'm up-to-date on fixes that I know of. Version is 15.2.0.695.

I got the text in and see where the colour changing tools are but for some reason even if I made everything red, the text colour still comes out completely different. It seems to be matching it to the colour scheme of the GIF itself. I just want to text to be red.
How do I get the text colour to just stay red?

Feb 21, 2013Anytime I import a piece of Clipart and I go to the Trace bitmap button>outline trace>line art the program freezes immediately. The diagbox doesn't even pop up, nor does it say "not responding" at the top.
I am running Win 8 but it has been running for months without a hitch. I have cleaned out temp files and reinstalled the suite and nothing happened.

Corel DESIGNER Technical Suite 12 :: Create PNG File From Single Layer Of Multiple Layered File?
Apr 2, 2013Our company does not have the funds to upgrade so we are stuck with CD12. I am using using a windows 7 /64 bit machine. I created this xml template for the writers to place place their graphics in our author software.
I have 4 layers on my file - grid.guide,desktop and template. The template has the instructions and size dimensions. I have them put all graphics on the high lited desktop layer then when this is complete turn off the template layer. One can print this file with just the graphics showing with no problem.
However if I export this a PNG file both the template and desktop layers show up even though I turned off all layers. I just want the desktop layer with the graphics to show up. I have been using Adobe Illustrator for several years and this doesn't present a problem when saving the graphic as a PNG file.

Dec 23, 2013I had Corel Photo Paint v.9, have used it for years in addition to DRAW, but recently my computer died and I had to replace it. I installed it on the new machine, which is running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, but the line tool suddenly started acting nuts. I would move the cursor to where I wanted to start the line and start the line with a mouse click. The line would then dart half-way down the screen and would be nowhere near the cursor's cross hairs making it difficult to work on images.
So, I figured it was a compatibility issue so I bought Corel Technical Suite X6 and have installed it. The line tool does exactly the same thing. The position of the line is nowhere near the crosshairs of the cursor. Is this a new "feature" or is this a bug? If the former, how can I get it to work like I am accustomed to working (I have used DRAW and Photopaint since the mid 1990's, using version 5.0). If the latter, how can I fix it?

Apr 17, 2011A week or so ago VSX4 suddenly hiccuped and flashed up a message ‘send DMP file xxxxxxxxxxxxx to Corel’ and the program then refused to function until reopened. But I could find no obvious way through the support web site to attach a file to an e-mail, something which used to be possible for you or so ago. I finished up ringing the only Australian phone number on it could find on Corel’s web site and the lady who answered offered to forward my e-mail with DMP file attached to support. So far I have not yet received a reply.
1.Why did the program want me to send a DMP file?
2. link to a method for sending a DMP file to Corel?
3. How simple would it be for Corel to put a link to allow program users a direct route for this from the CorelGuide that appears on clicking the down arrow surrounded by dots?
