AutoCAD 2010 :: Custom Linetypes - Text Extremely Large When Copied To Drawing
Mar 12, 2012I created some custom linetypes. When I copied them over to my drawing, the text in the linetypes came in extemely large. I really need to get this figured out as I am setting up a template for a new customer, and they want all these included.

Jul 30, 2008I am creating posters in Photoshop CS3 to be printing at 16" x 20" / 360lpi. Therefore, I create and add layers to a base 360dpi image sized at 16" x 20". I am not able to add large text (font size approximately 256 points) across the image without experiencing severe antialiasing issues when viewed at 100% regardless how I set the AA value (smooth, sharp, crips, strong).
Is there any possible way to get around this issue without having to buy expensive vector based software to create my textual layers. I image it would be very difficult creating text in a vector appliction when it needs to match the shape, color and styling of my target project image in Photoshop.
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 :: Publish To PDF Creates Extremely Large File Sizes
Mar 15, 2012I am running CorelDraw x5 Graphics Suite on Windows 7. When publishing to pdf on even simple corel files it is saving a pdf size of over 1.5GBs! The screenshot below is a 57 page corel file ALL text and vector with NO bitmaps images. Publishing to pdf creates a file size 1.59GBs. Is there a patch that is out that resolves this issue?

Nov 13, 2013im using c3d 2012. whenever i'm drawing lines between nodes and i have my osnap set to node and it picks nodes but i have to be right on top of the node when i pick it so i'm having to zoom in and out a lot. in ldd i was able to hover anywhere over the point text and it still picked the node.

Sep 13, 2012We have a computer that using AutoCAD Architecture 2013 and Acrobat 9 Standard. When printing a large sheet (30"x42") with images in it to a PDF the images do not appear in the newly created PDF. However, if the same file is printed to fit an 11x17 the images display correctly. Any thoughts as to why the large sheet size is not printing properly?

Jun 29, 2011I'm having a problem with sketches not appearing on drawings in Inventor 2012. This is for a product line made using iparts and iassemblies, and affects approximately 150 drawings.
These sketches were made in Inventor R11, and are attached to part features in the drawing view. When opening these drawings in 2012, the dimensions that were attached to the sketch are still visible, (albeit in the wrong places and on the wrong features), but the sketch itself is not. The sketch still exists as an item under the view, but the actual contents of the sketch (lines and hatching) are gone.
The assembly consists of three identical cylindrical parts with mitred ends welded together in two operations to form a T-shaped part. I have a view representation for each operation. The drawing has each view on one page.
The first step requires welding the two parts together to form an "L" shape, and then cutting off a portion of the corner of the "L" to facilitiate joining the third part in the second operation. In my assembly, I mated the two cylindrical parts together, then created a sketch and using geometry projected from the parts, defined the area of material removal at the corner and extruded the feature. Then, I mated the third part.
However, since I cannot turn off the extrusion when defining a view representation, I needed to redraw the corner I removed so it reflected reality when showing this first phase on the drawing,. I accomplished this using a sketch on the view in the .idw, again using geometry projected from the part. This worked out excellently in Inventor R11. Not only was I able to show the missing part, but because this was an iassembly made from iparts, I could use the same drawing for differnet sizes by "saving as..." and then selecting a diffenent Assembly State on the Model State tab of the Drawing View Dialog Box. The views would update, and so would my sketch, since it was defined by the geometry of the part.
So we continued on this way, and now that we've moved to 2012, none of these sketches appear anymore. We're faced with having to redo this work on every drawing that we've created for this part -- about 150 or so.
Lightroom :: Large Image Information Appearing On Top Left Of Image?
Jan 13, 2014All of a sudden the information to the image started appearing on top left of image. It is disturbing when I'm trying to edit image. How do I get rid of this image information on that part of the screen?

Aug 27, 20111. i received a DWG that has a TIFF image referenced. This 30MB TIFF came in a separate folder (eTransmit) and the path is correct, but i cannot seem to grab the image in model space. the layer that has the xref is not frozen, and i can see the xref in the properties box and unload/load/detach, however i am unable to select or grab it. Was this done intentionally by the author to keep the image intact or is this property of transmitting?
2. The drawing coordinates is appearing in scientific notation and i need them to display all 9 digits. How do i change this?
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 12 :: Changing Next Node Type While Drawing
Aug 24, 2011I seem to vaguely recall a method from some vector drawing program where you can press or hold ctrl or alt or shift and change the next type of node you will draw while using the bezier tool, or the pen tool, or the multi-line tool.
Is there any way to do this in 12, or use VBA to make it happen. I really just need to switch back and fourth between cusp and symmetrical.

My RCP at 1/8" scale looks okay. Yet in my 1"=10'0" POT plan,
I would like these exit lights/signages to appear double in size when printed,
(since POT is merely a schematic)
From 1/8" scale to 10' scale (96 to 120), the symbols by logic should appear
80% smaller, not larger.
Can this be done with annotative block?

The resolution of the mouse does not allow me to select obejects on the screen because the mouse jumps in large increments.
I do not have this problem on smaller drawing, such as electrical schematics.
Is there a setting to increase the resolution of the mouse movemrnt id AutoCAD?
Photoshop :: Convert Drawing To Use In Large Format?
Jun 1, 2008I've been drawing stuff for web pages that people come back and want to use in larger formats. Like printing on their truck, or business cards, letterheads, or even large banners.
I didn't draw them with that in mind, it's this tiny image that is made for the web and is like 72dpi. So now I have to take these things somehow and convert them to scalable vectors at 300dpi if possible, but I don't know how.
How do I take any random graphic (or a handful of layers at once) and convert it to a higher DPI and make it scalable so I can send the large tiff or even the PSD to a graphic printing company who can scale it to whatever size they like and have it still look the same?
Case in point:
I am supposed to take a logo and convert it to a basic black and white print to put on their van. So I have to take off gradients and shadows and extra stuff, but I am still left with a graphic at 72dpi and very small in size. All it is, however, is text using a standard font, but I did a custom letter that kind of flows vertically between 3 lines of text. So I have 4 layers, 3 font layers and one regular drawing layer for the custom letter. The only effect I have now in this basic version is an outer glow, with yellow color overlay.
Can I make this scalable AND with effects? Can I just convert all the layers into vector paths somehow? Or is there a way to just make this 300dpi and make it 5 times bigger and look nice?
I'm just not sure how to convert or get this ready for a printer.
Revit :: Large Areas Of Drawing Not Printing?
Jul 30, 2013My plans are printing fine, but elevations and any 3d view print with the majority of the drawing missing. I'm guessing it has to do with the raster images used on walls for textures, but besides that I'm stumped. I'm trying to print in realistic view, because of the material textures that need to show up.
I've turned on sun lighting, as well as tried various PDF printers, but no change. When I go to the print preview it appears to preview incorrectly. The file is pretty small as the project is just a modest house. Pretty much all the settings are 'right out of the box'.
When I shift back to just 'Hidden line' mode and look at it in print preview it seems to print the drawing fine, but then the titleblock and firm logo dissapear. The actual PDF when printed is fine.
I'm working on revit 2013, in WIndows 7 inside parllels on a macbook pro.

Dec 14, 2012I have rather large blueprint that is black and white. Their is some noise around some of the black lines / text / etc on the drawing that I want to get rid of as well as get rid of the white back round all together (which I am hoping will reduce the file size a bit).

GIMP :: Downsize Large Architectural Drawing Images From TIFFs To JPGs
Apr 23, 2011So, I have used Gimp to downsize large architectural drawing images from Tiff's to jpgs. Well, I always thought I was downsizing them. In the past, the process always seemed to make the files more usable in the application where I need to use the architectural drawings without a significant loss in quality.
I will open a tiff in Gimp, save as jpg, export if prompted, then select quality of 40 or 50 percent, and the result is a usable file that is significantly smaller than the source tiff file.Today, the source tiff which is 900 mb in size is being converted to jpg which is 6 or 7 mb in size, totally unusable.
Additionally, if I simply open the source in Gimp, save it to another directory from Gimp without making any changes, the file also grows to 6 or 7 mb. What am I doing wrong this morning that I have not been doing wrong for the last 6 months?
Using version 2.6.11 in Ubuntu 10.10 if that matters.I have a version of 2.7 on my Windows XP OS, and it will lock up trying to open these drawings.
It's curious, because, at 900 MB, I typically can use the drawings without even altering or downsizing them.What I really cannot understand is why Gimp is causing unaltered files to grow in size when saving them.
AutoCad 3D :: Flattening Large 3D Model (hospital Ground Floor) To 2D Floor Plan Drawing
Oct 16, 2012How to solve this problem of 'Flattening a large 3d model (hospital ground floor) to a 2d floor plan drawing'. The 3d model was made in Rhino and I saved it as a .dwg file because Rhino kept crashing with the command 'make 2d' (file too large maybe :/).
I don't know AutoCAD 3d so now, I'm trying to just change the line layers and eventually plot it all, but sometimes when I save the progress.... AutoCAD will delete sections of my work sometimes :/
AutoCAD 2010 :: Plotting Seems To Be Extremely Slow
Jan 22, 2013I recently upgraded from ACAD 2004 to ACAD 2012. In ACAD 2004, plotting was extremely quick. In ACAD 2012, plotting seems to be extremely slow. A basic drawing in 2004 plotted as a pdf file using CUTE PDF or PDF Creator would take about 5-10 seconds. In ACAD 2012, a similar file using the same CUTE PDF or PDF Creator will take up to 2-3 minutes. Not a long time but when you are plotting a dwg set that has up to 10 tabs in it, it takes 20-30 minutes just to plot. Is there any way to speed up the plotting in ACAD 2012? I have both ACAD 2004 and ACAD 2012 loaded on the same computer.

Dec 26, 2013I received a layout of a building from a architect. When I try to print it out it is extreemly light. This happens no mater what printer or ploter I use. I have changed line weight with no success.
It seems to always happen when I get a building drawing from an arhitect.
Even the new items I have drawn like conveyors , tables stc. come out nearly invisable.

AutoCAD Architecture :: 2011 EXTREMELY Jumpy Cursor?
Mar 23, 2011I have a sluggish jerky cursor (and it’s not the operator) when you are NOT in a command and while you are creating your selection set in the command. The cursor jumps and reappears @ ~1 sec intervals so you have to anticipate your mouse move to do anything. OH...and it's only happens in model space.
I tried several settings I found on the internet but nothing works. It's only doing it in 3 drawings right now. The latest one was working fine until ~10:00 this morning, then it started in...no issues before this.
It really makes AutoCAD 2011 basically unusable as it takes 5X longer to complete each command!

AutoCAD Inventor :: 2013 Extremely Slow In IDWs
May 14, 2012When working in detail drawings inventor progessivly gets slower, the more information on the drawing, the worse it gets.I was watching the task manager, For ANY command, the 1st core runs at 100% for up to 30 seconds, while this is happening, Inventor is dead.
EG, add a revision row, delete a symbol, zoom in or out, pan, add a dimension, move a leader etc.for each command/move takes 10 to 30 seconds to get control, it took me 45 minutes, to add a revision row and print 15 drawings this morning.
