I have a large map style drawing I'd like to slice into smaller files. I dont want overlap, but a clean line in common. See attached image for details for a 4-quadrant map.
View 2 RepliesI've got a large file that is about 72x54. I want to cut it up into pieces that are about 24x18 and print it pieces that I will tile together as a whole image after I print them. Is there a way to save out my file as 24x18 pieces?

My RCP at 1/8" scale looks okay. Yet in my 1"=10'0" POT plan,
I would like these exit lights/signages to appear double in size when printed,
(since POT is merely a schematic)
From 1/8" scale to 10' scale (96 to 120), the symbols by logic should appear
80% smaller, not larger.
Can this be done with annotative block?
How to make the dimension get bigger and smaller as we “scale” the drawing?
For example, the drawing in the screenshot below is scaled by 0.5 but that didn’t affect the “size” of the dimension (height of the text, extension lines, …).
Is there a way to get the dimension line affected as we scale the drawing such that the “dimension text” and the “extension line” are increased/ decreased with the scale factor?

I am currently working for pepsi factory with huge machines in their factory building. My problem is that these drawings are very big and not loading quite well even in high performance systems. My current drawing size is about 120MB, without any hrefs.

Anyone know what this is called, the package used to achieve it or where I should start?
I created some custom linetypes. When I copied them over to my drawing, the text in the linetypes came in extemely large. I really need to get this figured out as I am setting up a template for a new customer, and they want all these included.
I have attached the dwg for reference.
When i drop a file to the Timeline the file is always spliited into serveral smaller ones automatically I was wondering if it have mistakenly change a setting.

The resolution of the mouse does not allow me to select obejects on the screen because the mouse jumps in large increments.
I do not have this problem on smaller drawing, such as electrical schematics.
Is there a setting to increase the resolution of the mouse movemrnt id AutoCAD?
I am designing grid arrays using CAD2012 but I need to save them in 2000DWG and then R13DXF for working with an old machine.
I don't know why 2000DWG much larger than 2010DWG and even worse when I save in R13DXF.
I am not sure whether it's my design or something is wrong with the setting. I only use basic structure (rectangles and lines).
I attach one section my 2000DWG drawing without hatching and explode here. The real design would have 9 of this grid with labels and with solid hatching and explode all the components.
I tried the full strusture with solid hatching and explode all the components then save as R13DXF for the machine to read it. The 2000DWG gets >5mb and R13DXF becomes >50mb which is crazy. I tried purging but it doesn't get better.
How can I split a catalog into two smaler catalogs without loosing all the tags, albums etc? I'm using photoshop elements 11

The error is telling me that the 'total duration is greater than the maximum project duration..." and will not allow me to edit. Is this a limitation of VS11+? How big a file can I edit without error> Can I increase/override the maximum duration of a project?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have my editing all done for a 2 hour 12 minute video. It has been my experience that I can get about 1hr 7min. on a DVD. Normally when i'm done editing, I choose Share > Create Video File > DVD. This creates a DVD compatable mpeg-2 file for burning later. I know I want to create 2 seperate DVD's. How do I split the video? Is it possble to slpit in the editing phase? I'm using VS pro 12.

I would like to break it into two seperate shapes: a top half, and bottom half. I need to remove some between them though.
Unfortunately, I cannot make the scissor tool, knife tool or cut path tool work correctly. It just doesn't seem to work, no matter whether I have anchor points selected or not.
I have also tried duplicating the object and trying to delete anchor points until I'm left with one of the shapes. However, because of the ordering of anchor points, I end up with a blue line connecting one end of the object to the other.
I captured approximately 1 hour DV file contained different scenes from different places. Now, I would like split this file for smaller parts and save them as a separate .avi files.
Is this possible to do this by VSX3 (e.g. cut or multitrim on timeline and save to separate folder each pieces?
If X3 cannot do this, what software you can recommend for relatively easy and quick multi-split, without loose quality?
In a nutshell - I am a seamstress attempting to make a pattern. Well, I have made the pattern - drawn it out on a large sheet of paper. I have manually "cut" it into letter-sized parts and scanned those parts onto my computer (with hash marks so that the parts can be matched back up to make the larger whole pattern).
I have spent a lot of time redrawing the lines in paint.net so they are neat and clean and more even. But then I went to print them and sizing is totally messed up and I am just not able to get my brain around this sizing thing. I need to be able to send these files to customers so they can print them out, put them together and have a pattern.
So, in effect, I have a large image that I want to print in puzzle pieces but they must maintain their *real* *life-sized* size. I'm attaching one of the individual files. What I need to do to it to make it be 8.5" x 11".
For example, I want to print one 17x22-inch image onto 2, 8.5x11-inch sheets.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to work out how to generate a whole lot of smaller drawings from a bigger drawing, automatically through Scripting and Lisp programming. Each of these smaller drawings would be based on a rough 20 metre buffer of the property boundaries inside it. Each drawing created would preferably be the expression of the House number + Street name, which are in each property boundary parcel as object data. What I have been doing in the past is attaching and querying the required drawing one by one but this takes a while and we are about to get a whole shed load more to be done.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have been given a drawing that I need to edit but its a seems to be what I call a block ie if I click on it the whole drawing is selected, the only way to work on it that I know is to explode it, but if I then explode it the whole drawing is on one layer not like it should be. Is there a way of doing this to keep the layers?

I put a check mark in the "always perform current choice" item and select the "Specify a replacement for each shx file". I assume this replaces the missing shx file with the default shx file. But if I send the drawing to someone else they get the same message. Did the shx file not get replaced or do I need to do something further?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI use the split face tool on my ipt. When i create a idw of this part I want to show the split face line in the drawing. When I initially place the view the line is shown, however when the place view command is finished the line is not shown.
I see nothing obvious in the place view dialog box controlling the visibility of this line............how do i show this line in the view?

I have a huge file that I am working with. I keep getting fatal errors. I am trying to make the file size smaller. Within the file there are 1836 layers, I am trying to reduce that number greatly. There are also lots and lots of blocks. I have heard that it is possible to make all of the objects on one layer and also compress layers.

The problem is that Sap2000 takes only polygon meshes (not solids) in 3d. The question is that how can i make a group of polygon meshes of the solid model that represents the structure.
(Since i am not an expert of Autocad, i will be glad if the solution is explained in a simple language.)
I have xref-ed two .dwg files into my drawing. They are on top of each other, and now I want to make horizontal sections from several smaller areas containing both files. However, when I do, all lines turn olive green and I loose the original layer structure (in the section, that is, not the original x-ref).
Is there a way to make these sections and keep the original layers in the sections? I'd rather not use xclip.
I've made a sketch in Photoshop Elements. The resolution was 743 by 663 pixels. I'm wanting to finish this in Illustrator, but when I open the same file (I have tried both PNG and PSD so far with the same results) in Illustrator, the image is extremely small, yet it says it is zoomed in 100%. In order for me to draw on this, it needs to be the same size that it looked like when it was opened in Photoshop. I understand the image is not actually resized, but the scale makes it appear smaller. And I also understand that illustrator's "pixels" measurments are incorrect (or so I have been told and observed).
I attempted simply rescaling the image myself with the select tool, but unfortunately I lose resolution and some of my sketch lines when I do this.
I'm not a master at any of these programs, so if you have an answer to how I could get the image scale to be "normal,".
i have various files which I cannot copy elements of into other drawings.
when i use the ctrol+copy command, I get the "copy to clipboard failed". This has only started since I upgraded to AutoCAD2012.
I have a dwg file with >9.8MB. When use Ctrl-c Autocad freeze for 15 seconds aprox.I can open and manipulate this file with other CAD Software and regenerate this file in only 531Kb (that is true for my file), with the same elements (identical file).
I try to purge, reset scalelistedit, but nothing.(I want to attach >9.8MB file but is to large for this discussion group)
