i have a couple of grouped dimensions. the second i click on them autocad crashes. i can work on everything else with no problem, but as soon as i click on that group it crashes immediately. is there like 'safe mode' or something i can get into so i can ungroup the dimensions and get things back to normal?

I am running CS3 on Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5. Starting yesterday, every time I click anywhere on the menu bar, Photoshop crashes. This is not happening in Illustrator. I have uninstalled and reinstalled CS3, deleted Photoshop preferences, validated all fonts, and installed all available updates for my system.

So far I have found nothing that allows me to Modify Text."To Replace Existing Dimension Text With Alternate Text" it says to "Click Modify menu > Object >Text >Edit." The only Modify menu I can find is the Modify menu at the top showing 12 icons then it's drop down showing 14 more icons. There is no Object icon in that menu. how to Modify Text in LT2013.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am developing a .NET application that integrates with AutoCAD Architecture. In my .NET application, I provide my user with a list of drawing files (.dwg) that they can choose to open. Once my user has selected a file, my application will open the selected drawing in AutoCAD Architecture. In this drawing, the user can click on an object in the drawing.
Can this mouse click event be captured and the object ID for the selected object be returned to my application?
If I select some objects (i.e. pipe, feature line, etc.) and right click to bring up my shortcuts, I click on SOME commands (i.e. object viewer, elevation editor, etc....respectively, the command does not progress....it forces me back to a selection box cursor and I have to reselect the object.
For example, I select a pipe, I then right click, shortcut menu pops up, I select "object viewer", and then my previous slection is not granted and it asked for a new selection (it used to always just proceed with the command), I then have to select the pipe I had previously seleted, and the command proceeds as normal.
not a bid deal, but it slowing down my productivity having to select these items twice. The wierd thing is that it is not like this with all of my right click short cut commands...only a few!?

Commercial MEP design. Project in mention is a 65,000 sq.ft. Italian food market.
Third, the problem.I am experiencing a selection and double click editing problem with AutoCAD 2012LT & AutoCAD 2014LT. On Friday, June 28th we recieved updated (not new) backgrounds from a lighting designer for two floors of the building whose MEP system we are engineering. The second floor had no problems really; we reset some annotation scales and the updated backgrounds plugged right in. The first floor, however, was so messed up that we copied and pasted the track lights and all else into our file directly (vs. xref'ing) and instantly, after a save, it is impossible to evoke any kind of edit with double click. In order for us to modify anything, we have to type the command before editing. So if I want to DDEDIT, I have to type that in before changing the text. If I do select the text first than CAD freezes, takes a huge dump, wipes for 5 minutes, and then the text editor appears. This problem is ubiquitous with all 2012 LT machines and up. AutoCAD 2005 LT has no problem (lmfao).
Accelerator Keys
My accelerator keys for the right-click object-snap cursor menu do not work. For example, I will be drawing a line and I will bring up the object-snap menu, then I will select ‘E’ for endpoint snap, the ‘e’ will display in the dynamic input window and the snap does not work.
When I click on a civil 3d object the contextual ribbon will light up (which is fine) but instead of my cross hairs comming back in the drawing window I get the pointer that would be used to select an item in the ribbon (in the drawing area) and I have to click in the drawing area to get my cross hairs back or to grip edit the object or to delete the object.
Is there a option/setting I need to change to be able to get me cross hairs back after selecting a civil 3d object?
Just move to Civil 3d 2012, this worked just fine in '11...
I want to prevent an object to be moved on first click even if select and move tool is active. It is tiring to always press Q key or toggle select object tool, cuz after some transactions are applied, it automatically activates move tool. I want to move tool to act for first click to just select and second click and afterwards to move.

If you do this on an object that is part of a group (by using CTRL click to select inside first) then you see the clone of the object as you drag it but it disappears the moment you let go of the mouse button.
I had the same problem with X5 - then went back to X4.Anyway to fix this problem in X6.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI don't have any particular speed issue with illustrator CS6 in general. However there is a massive speed problem when I'm trying to select on object on the artboard with a single click.
When selecting a object by creating a "rectangle" over the object it works fine and normal speed. When clicking the object to select it, nothing happens for about 3/4 seconds, then the loading little rainbow circle appears and loads for another 3/4 seconds...
Every time I right click on an Object in Elements window Animate crashes on me.
Same thing happens, when i click on the "Open Actions" Button - "{ }"
I am able to accomplish nothing this way.

View 6 Replies View Relatedis this possible. A lot of programs auto-duplicate when you drag and press either the shift or ctrl or alt key. Its a habit ive gotten pretty into. Plus, its a little akward for me to go from a left click immeadeitaly into a right click with the mouse. I always feel like i've dragged the object a little bit when I switch fingers. it would be great to just add a hot key of shift+drag to this feature, wouldnt even have to turn off the standard right click option, I could deal with both being there.

The Shift + Click has the correct menu already (Osnap menu2) my problem is adding my custom menu to the CTRL + Click doesn't work. I labeled Osnap Menu 1 and 2, 1 being the custom menu I have use in the past and 2 being the default osnap menu that comes with the cui file. How to get the second button to read my menu rather than both read the same osnap 2 menu?

I'm not exactly sure what happened, but suddenly my Type Tool can not select type by double clicking or click and drag any more.
I'm using Illustrator CS4 (14.0.0) on a MacPro with OSX 10.6.8.
I've had to reinstall CS5 after a new Windows installation. Never had a problem with it before, but now I have the issue where if I click on a tool that has sub-tools, it now expands to show them. Before, to access them, I had to click and hold for them to appear. Now with them expanding on the first click, it's interrupting my work flow.
Additional issues have arisen while I'm here, such as, when doing web work, I'll change the rectangular marquee to single pixel horizontal (e.g.), make the selection, do what I want with it, then press M to adjust another single pixel line, but it'll return to the full rectangular marquee, like it resets.
I'm running a test at the moment with Open GL disabled, to test drivers or display issues, but it's doing the same thing.

AMD Radeon HD7800.
Since we updated to CC, I have a very good chance of this not working evey time I try it. Maybe 10% of the time, it will select the word/line as it should. My prefs are identical for this feature as they have for the past several version of InDesign. My partner also has trouble with copy/paste in InDesign and Illustrator as well.
View 20 Replies View RelatedJust reinstalled Photoshop CS5 after needing to reinstall Windows 7. Now instead of being to just grab the tool I want, it produces the flyout each time and I have to re-choose what I want to use. This is rather annoying and time consuming, if I am using the same tool.
Can it be coming from Windows or just Photoshop. I did try resetting the preferences and nothing changed.
I use cs2 and when in photoshop when i left click on any of the tools for instance the pen tool it brings up the menu to select pen tool, freeform pen tool, etc.. rather than just selecting it. I am use to having to right click on the the pen tool to get that menu, i was wondering how i would change it back. Same thing happens when i left click on all the tools on the tools menu, just used the pen tool as an example.

When I select an object and pan to make another selection the first object "deselects". The object(s) will stay selected until I pan and as soon as I start to pan the grips go away and the object(s) is deselected.

I am running AutoCad 2013 LT on a Windows 7 O.S. , 32-Bit, 4gb ram,. After I installed Service Pack (2), getting memory error and crash. Tash manager shows a Acbrowserhost.exe--memory consumption thatcontinuously increases. A co-worker can open the same drawing in AutoCad 2011 LT with no issues. Before the Service Pack was installed, I wasn't having any issues.
