I am running AutoCad 2013 LT on a Windows 7 O.S. , 32-Bit, 4gb ram,. After I installed Service Pack (2), getting memory error and crash. Tash manager shows a Acbrowserhost.exe--memory consumption thatcontinuously increases. A co-worker can open the same drawing in AutoCad 2011 LT with no issues. Before the Service Pack was installed, I wasn't having any issues.
View 9 Replieswe've just migrated to the 2014 release of the inventor suite and use vault basic. With the 2014 version of inventor the program immediately crashes when attempting to open an autocad dwg. Inventor dwg files open fine. We never experienced this issue in our previous release. We only use the dwg format and because the preview is not always available it often happens that we open an autocad dwg in inventor and vice versa. Crash is reproduced on multiple maches.

This is my demo machine and I find that Inventor 2014 is randomly crashing. (Bad news in front of a customer)!
This happens when I am working in another application whilst Inventor is in the background with a model open.
Inventor will then randomly crash. I don't get the Autodesk crash report - I get the window that states - do I want to close the app , debug or whatever.
My users are reporting that 2014 64 bit VBA crashes on program launch randomly.
I have 12 to 14 apps written in VBA. Randomly they crash when the user trys to run them.
Sometimes they load and work fine other times they crash inventor without reporting an error.
cleaned up the fonts and its still crashing by simply scrolling thru to find a file to open and to make matters worse, my CS2 which hardly ever crashed now crashes just opening it. I am rather beside myself, I have an iMac running 10.6.8 with 4GB of memory. I would love to copy and paste the crash report but it's not letting me do that.

I have installed Autocad 2012 LT on Windows XP sp3. The program opened and worked fine after the install. The user was not sure they wanted this version so I did not activate the program right away. After the user decided they wanted to keep this version I activated the program with a license and now the program will not open. Crashes and does not give an error message.
I have tried to uninstall and re-install. I uninstalled netframework 3.5 sp1 and re-installed, still will not open.
I have just upgraded to two new computers
They are identical, One computer has this error the other doesn't

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm working on some vb.net code which updates the sizes of parts within sub assemblies and then selects the correct sub assemblies to place and constrain into a larger assembly.
When I run my software all the sub-assemblies should open, resize and then get placed into the larger assembly.
This code works up to a point. However I'm having some trouble when one of my sub assemblies is placed and constrained into the larger assembly - Inventor crashes.
If I step through my code line by line, it works fine. I think that this is because Inventor has more 'time to think' about what it is doing between placing the sub assembly and constraining it (updating the parts i guess).
After discovering this I wrote a line in my code which uses the vb.net stopwatch class to wait 20 seconds between installing the part and constraining it, this allows everything to work without Inventor crashing.
What I'd like to know is if there is a command i could use in vb.net which would allow me to wait for the sub-assembly to be ready to be constrained rather than waiting 20 seconds? Although this works I don't think it's the 'correct' method of doing things.
I'm using Inventor 2011 SP1.
I have just started using 2013, and everything works just fine, with the exception of trying to plot. I am able to plot to PDF, but if I try to send a job to any of my network printers/plotters, AutoCAD crashes.

i have a couple of grouped dimensions. the second i click on them autocad crashes. i can work on everything else with no problem, but as soon as i click on that group it crashes immediately. is there like 'safe mode' or something i can get into so i can ungroup the dimensions and get things back to normal?

I posted a while ago as my AutoCAD 2012 keeps crashing when I try to save as. Well it doesn't crash as such it just freezes until I press ESC. I've also noticed it does this when I select LAYDEL.

Having trouble with AutoCAD 2012 when saving to earlier versions? I can't save it down to any other version except for 2012, without the system crashing completely. It seems to be files that have aerial xrefs in them.
Also, from time to time we get the crash when editing MText.
When plotting from AutoCAD Map 3D 2013, after 7-8 plots, the programme crashes (with a warning to report the crash to Autodesk). This happens whether we plot to pdf or to the printer (HP 5500dn). This is happening to every user in my office. We print across a University wide network for the printer (which I think is using the HP Universal Print Driver), but the pdf creator is on each individual machine (no network needed). It's irritating when you are trying to plot 15-20 figures and have to keep re-starting AutoCAD.
The machines are Viglen, 64bit, Windows 7, 8GB RAM, 3.3GHz.
I first installed 2012, then I realized that my class will be using 2011. I downloaded 2011, and kept my 2012, and it didn't seem like there would be any issues. So I open my 2011 and it keeps crashing before it loads completely. There are no error messages or anything ...2012 works just fine. I tried doing a repair, and a reinstall.

Typically it won't crash if I have only one drawing file open and then save and close. With more than one file open the system crashes regularly on both computers. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have some large files that I get from a customer in the form of .iges. They give me the .iges because they use CATIA. My problem is that when I try to open the .iges file, it will sit there and try to open in Inventor for about 5 mintues and then the program will just end. It doesn't give me any sort of error message before crashing, it just dissapears. I can open the files in Mastercam just fine. I tried to open the file in Mastercam and save it as a .stp. The same thing happened when opening the .stp in Inventor. I tried to change some of the options that are available when opening these files in Inventor and that doesn't seem to work. I need to get these files open in Inventor desperately.

I have windows 8 on new asus laptop N56VZ. Installed civil 3d 2013 with no problems (i see some people have problems with installing) but it doesn't work normal. It crashes every time i try to edit an alignment, old or new.
I had windows 8 beta on an older asus laptop and civil 3d work there normally. Then I upgraded it to win 8 and it started crashing like described.Today i bought that new asus n56vz with windows 8 and it is crashing.

I have noticed about a 50/50 chance of crashing when using Copyclip or Wblock, and the selection includes C3D objects (feature lines, etc.). Sometimes when I Wblock out, no file is written, then if I try to repeat it, there is about a 99% chance that is will crash on the repeat try.
I just installed Civil 3D 2012 64 bit on a new computer running Windows 8. It starts up fine, but when I pull up a drawing, about 1 or 2 minutes later, the program shuts down and I have to restart Civil 3D. I've pulled up several different drawings from different sources, and it does the same thing. First, a window pops up for a split second, and I can't read the contents of the window. Then, I get the window that says Civil 3D is shutting down.

After a plot, when someone goes to save and close the drawing, AutoCAD crashes. It does not matter which plot device is used, the result is the same. This includes the plot devices included in AutoCAD. I have reinstalled autocad on one machine, no lisp commands, same result. I have already tried some of the fixes proposed in other threads, nothing has worked.

Im starting to look at a problem with 1 particular drawing I am working on, though to be honest i'm not sure where to begin.... It is nearly impossible to do anything to the drawing without having it crashing on me. On another machine it completely crashed the computer, leaving nothing but the blue Screen.... The file is only 3000 KB, has 2 xrefs and nothing much else complicated. There are some blocks in the drawing (about 100), and around 50 layouts.
The crashing doesn't happen at any command in particular, and I don't think it's the Computer as I have been working on other bigger files with more elements and not had anything (other than the usual)
Can there be something in the drawing that I can search for that makes AutoCAD Crash?I can't get it fixed then I'm going to have to redraw from scratch..

If i trying opening a MODEL (ASSEM OR PART) from the vault server, (not locally), it ill work...yeah....NOW if i do the same thing BUT browser down 3 sub folders, it will crash....fo example, if i browse to ....Railpower ProjectsNew NomenclatureHARDWARE CATALOGCATALOG BB007. choose any part...poof.. good bye inventor. This happens at any folder at 3 levels deep...with any part or assembly. we have do this with about 100+ senerios - different parts - different assemblies. the only thing constant is after going 3 folders deep (or more) it will crash
