cad 2013 and 2014 crashing on same pc--when right mouse click
after crashing can only open again by selecting --reset default settings--then can use again until right mouse click or open second drawing.
win 7 64 bit and cad 2013-2014 64 bit
i have a couple of grouped dimensions. the second i click on them autocad crashes. i can work on everything else with no problem, but as soon as i click on that group it crashes immediately. is there like 'safe mode' or something i can get into so i can ungroup the dimensions and get things back to normal?

I have uninstalled and reinstalled CS3, deleted Photoshop preferences, validated all fonts, and installed all available updates for my system.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have two menus that I use often and I would like to add them to my mouse buttons. Attached is a picture of the two menus I like and the two buttons. The Shift + Click has the correct menu already (Osnap menu2) my problem is adding my custom menu to the CTRL + Click doesn't work. I labeled Osnap Menu 1 and 2, 1 being the custom menu I have use in the past and 2 being the default osnap menu that comes with the cui file. How to get the second button to read my menu rather than both read the same osnap 2 menu?

I'm not exactly sure what happened, but suddenly my Type Tool can not select type by double clicking or click and drag any more.
I'm using Illustrator CS4 (14.0.0) on a MacPro with OSX 10.6.8.
I've had to reinstall CS5 after a new Windows installation. Never had a problem with it before, but now I have the issue where if I click on a tool that has sub-tools, it now expands to show them. Before, to access them, I had to click and hold for them to appear. Now with them expanding on the first click, it's interrupting my work flow.
Additional issues have arisen while I'm here, such as, when doing web work, I'll change the rectangular marquee to single pixel horizontal (e.g.), make the selection, do what I want with it, then press M to adjust another single pixel line, but it'll return to the full rectangular marquee, like it resets.
I'm running a test at the moment with Open GL disabled, to test drivers or display issues, but it's doing the same thing.

Windows 7 Ultimate 64
AMD Phenom 2 X2 550 3.1GHz
4GB RAM
AMD Radeon HD7800.
Since we updated to CC, I have a very good chance of this not working evey time I try it. Maybe 10% of the time, it will select the word/line as it should. My prefs are identical for this feature as they have for the past several version of InDesign. My partner also has trouble with copy/paste in InDesign and Illustrator as well.
View 20 Replies View RelatedJust reinstalled Photoshop CS5 after needing to reinstall Windows 7. Now instead of being to just grab the tool I want, it produces the flyout each time and I have to re-choose what I want to use. This is rather annoying and time consuming, if I am using the same tool.
Can it be coming from Windows or just Photoshop. I did try resetting the preferences and nothing changed.
I use cs2 and when in photoshop when i left click on any of the tools for instance the pen tool it brings up the menu to select pen tool, freeform pen tool, etc.. rather than just selecting it. I am use to having to right click on the the pen tool to get that menu, i was wondering how i would change it back. Same thing happens when i left click on all the tools on the tools menu, just used the pen tool as an example.

I am rather beside myself, I have an iMac running 10.6.8 with 4GB of memory. I would love to copy and paste the crash report but it's not letting me do that.

Tash manager shows a Acbrowserhost.exe--memory consumption thatcontinuously increases. A co-worker can open the same drawing in AutoCad 2011 LT with no issues. Before the Service Pack was installed, I wasn't having any issues.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have installed Autocad 2012 LT on Windows XP sp3. The program opened and worked fine after the install. The user was not sure they wanted this version so I did not activate the program right away. After the user decided they wanted to keep this version I activated the program with a license and now the program will not open. Crashes and does not give an error message.
I have tried to uninstall and re-install. I uninstalled netframework 3.5 sp1 and re-installed, still will not open.
I have just upgraded to two new computers
They are identical, One computer has this error the other doesn't

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm working on some vb.net code which updates the sizes of parts within sub assemblies and then selects the correct sub assemblies to place and constrain into a larger assembly.
When I run my software all the sub-assemblies should open, resize and then get placed into the larger assembly.
This code works up to a point. However I'm having some trouble when one of my sub assemblies is placed and constrained into the larger assembly - Inventor crashes.
If I step through my code line by line, it works fine. I think that this is because Inventor has more 'time to think' about what it is doing between placing the sub assembly and constraining it (updating the parts i guess).
After discovering this I wrote a line in my code which uses the vb.net stopwatch class to wait 20 seconds between installing the part and constraining it, this allows everything to work without Inventor crashing.
What I'd like to know is if there is a command i could use in vb.net which would allow me to wait for the sub-assembly to be ready to be constrained rather than waiting 20 seconds? Although this works I don't think it's the 'correct' method of doing things.
I'm using Inventor 2011 SP1.
I have just started using 2013, and everything works just fine, with the exception of trying to plot. I am able to plot to PDF, but if I try to send a job to any of my network printers/plotters, AutoCAD crashes.

How come I cannot make a legend without AutoCAD crashing?
This video shows that the recover saved the legend that was made but just moving my cursor over it makes AutoCAD crash. It also crashed making a legend in the tutorial.

I posted a while ago as my AutoCAD 2012 keeps crashing when I try to save as. Well it doesn't crash as such it just freezes until I press ESC. I've also noticed it does this when I select LAYDEL.

Is there any way I can either open the .ivb file in some other more crash resistant program, how to get Inventor to not crash opening this file?
Having trouble with AutoCAD 2012 when saving to earlier versions? I can't save it down to any other version except for 2012, without the system crashing completely. It seems to be files that have aerial xrefs in them.
Also, from time to time we get the crash when editing MText.
When plotting from AutoCAD Map 3D 2013, after 7-8 plots, the programme crashes (with a warning to report the crash to Autodesk). This happens whether we plot to pdf or to the printer (HP 5500dn). This is happening to every user in my office. We print across a University wide network for the printer (which I think is using the HP Universal Print Driver), but the pdf creator is on each individual machine (no network needed). It's irritating when you are trying to plot 15-20 figures and have to keep re-starting AutoCAD.
The machines are Viglen, 64bit, Windows 7, 8GB RAM, 3.3GHz.
I first installed 2012, then I realized that my class will be using 2011. I downloaded 2011, and kept my 2012, and it didn't seem like there would be any issues. So I open my 2011 and it keeps crashing before it loads completely. There are no error messages or anything ...2012 works just fine. I tried doing a repair, and a reinstall.

Typically it won't crash if I have only one drawing file open and then save and close. With more than one file open the system crashes regularly on both computers. Our service pack updates are current.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have some large files that I get from a customer in the form of .iges. They give me the .iges because they use CATIA. My problem is that when I try to open the .iges file, it will sit there and try to open in Inventor for about 5 mintues and then the program will just end. It doesn't give me any sort of error message before crashing, it just dissapears. I can open the files in Mastercam just fine. I tried to open the file in Mastercam and save it as a .stp. The same thing happened when opening the .stp in Inventor. I tried to change some of the options that are available when opening these files in Inventor and that doesn't seem to work. I need to get these files open in Inventor desperately.

I have windows 8 on new asus laptop N56VZ. Installed civil 3d 2013 with no problems (i see some people have problems with installing) but it doesn't work normal. It crashes every time i try to edit an alignment, old or new.
I had windows 8 beta on an older asus laptop and civil 3d work there normally. Then I upgraded it to win 8 and it started crashing like described.Today i bought that new asus n56vz with windows 8 and it is crashing.

I have noticed about a 50/50 chance of crashing when using Copyclip or Wblock, and the selection includes C3D objects (feature lines, etc.). Sometimes when I Wblock out, no file is written, then if I try to repeat it, there is about a 99% chance that is will crash on the repeat try.
