How do I keep the fill ON the object that gets selected so I know not to pick it again as move through the drawing?
How /or/ where can I get a listing of my SetVars.
Running the Setvar (?) command doesnt offer a description for each?
I have shape files (also SDF) but they are without area (in geometry box there is only Type: Polygon; Vertex, Vertex X, Vertex Y).
How do I get the area of the objects?
This is data I received but when I created shape files (or SDF) they also didn't have area in geometry?
Is there a rule or something? I know it can be displayed in feature properies after ticking the box but I want area in geometry.
I had thought this was fixed in 2012, but it seems that lists passed in to a lispfunction, get interpreted as if the first items was a dotted pair code.I first noticed this on a tool that takes three integers as an rgb color.
On some values, it shows null for the args in.On some, it reinterprets as if I am passing in a point.
If I pass in '(1 2 3), I get (5009, (1,2,3)) in .net so that is a 3d point.
Note that this alone is a bug, as its a list of three integers, not a point.
If I pass in '(10 20 30), I get (10, (20, 30, 0)) in .net
If I pass in '(228 27 185), I get null in .net
If there is going to be any interpretation going on, it should be because I sent in a dotted pair list. How Autodesk wants us to pass in lists so they come in as just a list of values sent in. URL....
I want to insert a word document with several pages in autocad by the OLE OBJECT function. The problem is the insert only the first page. How to follow the other pages?

My problem is that the inside diameter is larger in the 6mm ring, and that's why I can't use the Scale command. Is there a command that allows me to fit all the objects in this area??

Before everyone is entering the information in RED multiple times, once in excel and again in our cad file.
I don't want a data link because we are sending, only, cad files to our customers.
I'm not able to locate the function that moves the vertices of a object squarely on the zero-line.

I create a lot of fields that reference a polyline area and I'm constantly having to change the default formatting values. I would like it to default to an Architectural format, WITHOUT the appended "SQ. FT." (which often takes up too much space), with a precision of 0 and using a comma as the Thousands Separator.
Is there any way to set these default values?
I have an object of given area and would like to make copies of the object at a different area. It is an irregular object so is not something readily calculated in Windows calculator, any macro that would do this in X5?
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I click on a civil 3d object the contextual ribbon will light up (which is fine) but instead of my cross hairs comming back in the drawing window I get the pointer that would be used to select an item in the ribbon (in the drawing area) and I have to click in the drawing area to get my cross hairs back or to grip edit the object or to delete the object.
Is there a option/setting I need to change to be able to get me cross hairs back after selecting a civil 3d object?
Just move to Civil 3d 2012, this worked just fine in '11...
When I try to copy and paste a graphic into another illustrator file I get the message: "Can't paste the objects. The requested transformation would make some objects fall completely off the drawing area?" Do I need to change a pref setting? I'm using illus cs5.

When I select an object and pan to make another selection the first object "deselects". The object(s) will stay selected until I pan and as soon as I start to pan the grips go away and the object(s) is deselected.
View 9 Replies View RelatedThis morning the shop brought back a set of drawings and requested that I provide a cut list for the fab department. Our drawings consist of an assembly drawing and materials list on the first page with several individual parts on each of the following pages. I am looking at including a column in the ML for the operation ( laser, saw, shear) and sorting the list by it. However when I do this the Item Numbers on the list are all confused. If a person were to look at a balloon on a drawing and then attempt to find it in the list it would be difficult and time waster.
The questions.
1. Is there a way to renumber the item list after sorting the material?
2. If I place an assembly view off the edge of the sheet for each of the following sheets and then place a materials list on each sheet, is it possible to create a plugin that would find which parts are on the sheet and hide all the other parts on the list? I have just started going through the "my first plugin" tutorial and this sounds like a place where it should be useful but I don't know which tags I need to look for.
We upgraded to AutoCAD Mechanical 2012 (from AutoCAD Mechanical 2009).
I used to go: TOOLS > DRAWING ORDER, in order to bring an object to the back or the front of another object.
Now that we are using AM 2012, I can't find where this command is located.
I get the following exception message while debugging, after pasting VBA code into my vb.net project:
"Object reference not set to an instance of an object"
Without going to specifics yet, I commented-out ObjectCollections and the error happened further down in the class.
Is there a different way ObjectCollections are handled in a vb.net class, versus a VBA module?

The problem is the contours have the elevation listed under object information, not geometry (the contours were brought in from a GIS file, which I do not have access to, or I would bring them in again with the elevations properly assigned, this is not an option). How can I quickly change the geometry elevation property to match the miscellaneous property?
