AutoCad :: How To Use Area Calculation Tool
Apr 29, 2013I don't use the area calculation tool that much. I was just working out a large area for concrete. I use TOOLS - INQUIRY - AREA. Thats all fine and it gives me the area, for instance, to keep it simple 4900 x 9000 = 44.10m² AutoCad displays it as 44100000. I know it's not a major problem, but is there anyway I can get it to display as 44.10 or at least lose all the zeros.

I can easily get a rough estimate of square footage on L X W....but when i use the area measuring tool, i get total inches and a total sq foot estimate of 1.7xxxxx which i don't understand.

Sep 26, 2011I am trying to calculate the area of our parts. I was trying to do the math my self but I kept getting a lower area than IV. I haver attached a picture of what I get from IV. I have listed my calculations of the angle iron below:

Jan 6, 2012i've got a lisp-routine that calulates multiple area's and put the sum in text in the drawing on the place i select.
the sum has to be devided with 1000000 so that it is in m2.

Dec 16, 2013I was just wondering why when I try and calculate an area using a polyine, I am getting a readout of 1.80401967E+07, when I have it set to give me the calculation in square feet? It is an area of approx. 246 Acres.....is this because the area is so large? I am not sure what the "E" stands for or the "+07" at the end....

Nov 20, 2011I have shape files (also SDF) but they are without area (in geometry box there is only Type: Polygon; Vertex, Vertex X, Vertex Y).
How do I get the area of the objects?
This is data I received but when I created shape files (or SDF) they also didn't have area in geometry?
Is there a rule or something? I know it can be displayed in feature properies after ticking the box but I want area in geometry.

My problem is that the inside diameter is larger in the 6mm ring, and that's why I can't use the Scale command. Is there a command that allows me to fit all the objects in this area??

May 16, 2012I have many floorplans and each room has a polyline around it.
What I'd like to do, is be able to select multiple (or single) polylines and have a dynamic field with the area attached to each polyline placed in the middle (or on a consistent edge, say top left). Preferably with custom units as we use mm for the drawings, but would want the area in m2. Also custom text heights.
I can find a lot of 'put the area in the middle' scripts, but they're either not dynamic or they require a click to place each one - and with over 700 floorplans and over a hundred or more rooms on some, it's not really possible to do each one individually!

Photoshop :: Make Existing Object With Multiple Layers / 3D Object?
Jan 29, 2013I have a logo that I am working with and I need to make it a 3D object for what I'm doing in After Effects. I am trying to make it 3D so I can edit it in repousse because all I really need to do is extrude it.
I've tried the different options in the 3D drop down menu but none of them bring me to edit in repousse.
Also, I know that I can make it 3D in After Effects my making multiples of it and what not but I don't want to go about it that way. Also, I'm working with CS5.5 and the 3D renderer plugin in After Effects is only available in CS6.

Aug 10, 2012I create a lot of fields that reference a polyline area and I'm constantly having to change the default formatting values. I would like it to default to an Architectural format, WITHOUT the appended "SQ. FT." (which often takes up too much space), with a precision of 0 and using a comma as the Thousands Separator.
Is there any way to set these default values?

May 23, 2012When I click on a civil 3d object the contextual ribbon will light up (which is fine) but instead of my cross hairs comming back in the drawing window I get the pointer that would be used to select an item in the ribbon (in the drawing area) and I have to click in the drawing area to get my cross hairs back or to grip edit the object or to delete the object.
Is there a option/setting I need to change to be able to get me cross hairs back after selecting a civil 3d object?
Just move to Civil 3d 2012, this worked just fine in '11...
