how to put a 3D object on top of the another 3D object in autocad"! E.g.,I want to put a 3d object of one leaf (raised 1") on top of the vase, so that the edges of the leaf are placed completely on the surface of the vase.
I extruded the leaf 1" first, then tried to copy it on a solid cylinder of a vase, but it didn't work!!! It seems to be simple, maybe not!

Now that we are using AM 2012, I can't find where this command is located.

"Object reference not set to an instance of an object"
Without going to specifics yet, I commented-out ObjectCollections and the error happened further down in the class.
Is there a different way ObjectCollections are handled in a vb.net class, versus a VBA module?

The problem is the contours have the elevation listed under object information, not geometry (the contours were brought in from a GIS file, which I do not have access to, or I would bring them in again with the elevations properly assigned, this is not an option). Nov 12, 2013I'm trying to cut through the angled object on the underside of the curved object to cut it into 2 sections and remove the upper, so that I'm left with the upper curved deck covering the front object.

Apr 8, 2012I've just changed a VS compile options to use .NET Framework 3.5 (previously Framework 4).
My user controls that I've added as containers for the pallette don't seem to agree with it and I get a "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error on each of their resx files. And one on Resources.resx.
Attached is a screenshot.
Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Feb 28, 2011I'm brand new with Autocad 3D 2011.
I have a plat map that I used topopgraphy to create polygons of all the lots. Each lot has a lot number created as text (not mtext or a block) on a layer that is separate from the layer with the polygons. I need to export the polygons as a shapefile and be able to access them in reference to their lot number. This information should be included with the .dbf file. I can export the lot polygons as a shapefile but the lot numbers are not included. I suspect that I need to do something with getting the centroid to include the lot number text (which I was not able to do successfully.) And then include that with the polygon/data export.

Nov 21, 2013I am creating a drawing that has some 40+ notes on it. Maybe half of these notes need to have a square, squircle, or some shape around them so I can later use that same shape enclosed number to point to a feature on the drawing that it is referencing. In the past when I had fewer notes I would just use the user symbols and losely place the squircle number in line with the other text and then use that same squircle number to point to the desired feature. The problem it is hard to align everything properly and if I move the text I then need to move the squircles.
In Pro/E I remember being able to type "@[1@]" and it would create a box around 1 in the text. Is there anything similar in Inventor?

In addition we group components to have a special item number... Meaning hardware like washer, bolts, and etc. to start with 500 series number.. Piping components would be 800 series...

Dec 2, 2008I want to use the AddBorder method to add a custom Border to a sheet. As I see in the end, the newly added border does not have the zone parameteres set - the result 0 horizontal zones/0 vertical zones.
If I use the add border functionality that Inventor provides, the zones are not null.
I tried to find a way to specify these parameteres, but I found that they can be specified only on DefaultBorder.

AutoCAD LT :: Error / Serial Number Not Valid
Oct 12, 2013I have been running AutoCAD LT2002 on a very old desktop computer and am attempting to switch to my new laptop. I have the original CD, Serial No., and CD Key. I have switched computers many times in the past and have had no problems installing this software on any of them. This time, it is giving me a "serial number not valid" message and will not let me proceed with the installation. I had some difficulty entering the number initially (the label with the s.n. was quite faded, but I KNOW that the serial number is entered correctly now-- what do I do?
