when I select objects to erase it will not delete if I use the delete button. erase works however I would like my delete button to function...it worked prior to my power failure... is there a setting

My keyboard delete key has stopped functioning in autocad regardless of the .dwg file. Also my right click options when an object is selected is now exactly the same as if nothing were selected. I cannot double click to edit text nor double click to edit a table cell.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded AutoCAD 2012 on my imac running on my Parallels system, meaning I have the Windows version or AutoCAD 2012 running on parallels. (Because there are too many problems with AutoCAD for mac).
There is one problem however, I cannot delete by using 'backspace' on my mac keyboard. I always have to right click the selected object and go to erase. Does there exist a keyboard shortcut for erase?
i have downloaded autocad on a new computer and i am amazed i can draw and dimension at the same time.
first of all how do you ENABLE and disable this option because the other autocad app that i have on another computer doesn't work like this and second, how come the delete button doesn't work and how to enable this option because right now i have to use other features such as Trim and it's slow.
Before when I selected objects and press "delete" button on the keyboard, it erased those objects.
Now CAD doesn't do that. How can I enable that again?

Just installed 2013 and customised my own hotkeys when found the delete button doesn't respond.
Even in Customise UI, I cannot get the "Delete" to appear in the Hotkey field to assign the correct action. I have had to assign "Home" (which on my keyboard is directly above the Delete button) just so I can have the ability to delete objects without having to resort to the Edit>Delete menu.
Is it possible to create a keyboard shortcut to delete a layer from the layer's palette?

All the key combos I've tried just delete the line section and vertices, when I really just want to remove the vertices.
I realise the > tool can do this but that's painfully slow when there's a bunch of them.
I've used Photoshop 7 for around a year now, using it mainly to touch up digital photos. I've just upgraded to Photoshop CS, but I've found that I'm having difficulties with my keyboard.
Usually, to zoom in, I can press CTRL + +. However, when I do this, nothing happens. Also, when I make a mistake with the magnetic lasso tool, I can usually press my Delete key to undo the last fixed point. Again, this doesn't work. All that is on on my keyboard is "Number Lock", which just allows me to use the right hand number keypad. Even with this off, the problems still aren't solved.
i have a problem with an animation in Edge Animate. I try to animate a button which spins 45° on mouse over and back on mouse out. So far no problem. Now i want the button to spin 90° when i click on it and let it stay on this position. I made it spin the 90° but it always spins back on mouse out because the event is still there. Is there any possibility to delet the mouse out event or pause it after clicking on the button. I already tried remove it but without any sucess.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am growing increasinly frustrated. I just installed AutoCAD LT 2013 on my laptop. I managed to get everything customized the way I want, except the button icons on my (classic) toolbar are much too small. If I go into the menu and select 'use large icons', they are too huge. My screen resolution DOES NOT need to be changed or adjusted. I went to the help menu to see what I can do, and found that I can go into CUI and adjust the size of the button icons that way, via the button image editor, however there is no 'button image editor' dialog box when I select any given toolbar command.

Is there a setting that may prevent the transparency from functioning?
I am using Autocad 2009 and it seems that whatever command under express tool just not working. e.g it says: [Unknown command "OVERKILL". Press F1 for help.] when when i typed in "overkill" or even using the express drop down menu.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOur .pc3 files do not save the settings properly in AutoCAD 2013.
I've created new .pc3 files for AutoCAD 2013 for the three printers/plotters we use. The .pc3 files are stored on a network drive. The four test machines we have running all have the same location of the .pc3, .pmp, .ctb files is set in the "Printer Support File Path". I created the .pc3 files with my machine; I filtered the paper sizes to be displayed and set the margins for each. When I access the files from my machine I see only the two paper sizes I set to show. If any of the other machines access the same exact file on the network drive they'll be greeted with eleven paper sizes none of which are either of the two I set up to be displayed.
If I create a .pc3 and .pmp file on a different machine it works properly only on that machine. Every other machine will be shown the same eleven paper sizes.
This happens with the HP DesignJet T1200 HPGL2, the KIP 7700 Series, and our HP Color LaserJet 5500n.
All of the test machines are HP Z400s with Intel Xeon W3565 at 3.2GHZ processors, 16GB RAM, ATI FirePro V4800 with 1GB RAM running 64 bit Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1 and 64 bit AutoCAD 2013 Service Pack 1.
Many many times have i used the stretch command without any dramas. I now have a new PC with AUTOCAD 2010. Since the upgrade my stretch command seems to act differently.
If i go to stretch a polyline with some sort of arc joined. no part of the arc inside the window will move.

When I highlight any object in model space the layer control, color control or line type control does not change from the current layer status to the layer of the high lighted object if it is different. I am also not able through this layer control bar able to high light an object and use the fly out arrow to go into the layers and change this object to another desired layer for this object. I have never seen this function just not work before and can find no setting or preference that might not be turned on to make it function. why it is not functioning?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to link to parameters in sub-components of an assembly, and feed dimensions to them. When I am in my iLogic interface I browse to the the part in the assembly and click the plus sign next to the part I am interested in. I then click the "User Parameters" section under that part and find the parameter I want to change. Now the normal workflow is to double click the parameter and it shows up in your iLogic code like here in this example:
Parameter("MSS_Cabinet1_Frame:1", "Splice_Length2") = Cab1_SpliceLength2
Well when I try to do this now, I get this:
MSS_Cabinet1_Frame.iam.Splice_Length2
So obviously something got messed up in my machine and iLogic is no longer formating the code properly. It only happens on my machine here, everyone else in our department still works fine. I have also determined that it is happening on all files new and old.
My fear right now is that I may have to re-install Inventor and I do not want to have to do that. I do have a call in with tech support through my local reseller, but who knows how long that will take.
I have been using Inventor 2012 and have been wanting to replace model references in drawings (.idw) with other parts. Inventor will let me select the Replace Model Feature, select the model to be replaced, and find the model I want to replace it with. It will even have the prompt appear asking if I want to continue with the replacement. The issue is that when I hit yes, nothing gets replaced.

My content browser is being finicky. The palettes are there, I can select the I-drop but when I release the dropper in my file, nothing happens, no error, no content???
Is it possible to unload and reload just the content browser?

Basically, I create a simple mesh primitive box. I set the selection filter to vertex, and select all vertices on one side of the box. If the selection of all vertices actually registers, it simply moves the entire object, not just the vertices selected. I've tried this in all directions, and the same thing happens.. Other times, it chooses to only move one of the vertices, a result I cannot reliably reproduce -- it just sort of "happens". Scale and Rotate all function normally.
This is happening for me in Civil 3D 2011 as well as Civil 3D 2013. I launched "Civil 3d 2013 as Autocad", and this problem doesn't seem to happen. Also, in "Civil 3d 2013 as Autocad", the vertex nodes all select as red, not as blue as seen in the screencast link. I spend all my time in Civil 3D, and would like to find out why this is happening so I don't have to constantly switch platforms.
This has also been posted over in the Civil 3D group, but since it's a regular "Autocad" entity, I was hoping to have more luck here.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a .psd file that was created by someone else for my friends web page. The psd file is the background, logo, and navigational bar for her home page. Each button is a "slice" I think because there are lines around each button on the left side navigational bar (not a true navigational bar just created by buttons) and around the head and body etc. (The lines are blue if that tells you anything - each section is numbered with a little tiny icon that looks a little like the back of an envelope.)
My question - we wanted to change the word on one of the buttons - I did that saved the psd file - no problem. Then I cropped out the button that we had changed. When I saved it to the web (as a jpg) the button looks like a button (a box around it - not a line a raised area that looks like a button.) The other buttons do NOT look like a button (even though the layers are named buttons.)
How can I change it so it looks flat (not button like) like all of the rest of the items on the navigational bar.
As default the Wacom pen top button acts as the right button. Is there a way to assign the right button to the bottom button?

Issue:
After a fresh restart of my PC Photoshop will function as normal for a short while (1hr appx.) after that it ceases to import/export or do any of it's intended functions. I CANNOT import ANY files. I am not presented with any error messages and it simply doesn't work. Buttons appear to highlight and the toolbars are still accessible, however I cannot continue with my work. If I then restart my computer it will function for a short while again then this will happen.
Things I have done:
Reinstalled Photoshop CS6
Deleted Preferences (Multiple Times)
Contacted Adobe Support in which case they failed to fix the problem.
I have photoshop CS5 and recently my zoom is malfunctioning. I draw on adobe, and more of the time when I zoomed and zoomed out my images still look consistant and smooth. Yesterday, my zoom at 33.3 and 66.7% isn't properly functioning. It distorts the pixels at these zooms, which makes it difficult to see and draw. It used to never do this, and I also didn't change anything in my photoshop to cause a change. Is there anyway I can reset the zoom how it was before? Or reset photoshop?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have installed Photoshop CS3 Extended on my PC (Pentium 4, 3 Ghz, 1GB RAM). The program loads fine and I can use the adjustments (levels, hue, filters, etc). When I attempt to use the Clone stamp tool, It does not work. If I push the "Alt" key and click the mouse, I get the cross-hairs like you are supposed to, but when I release the "Alt" key, it does not clone anything. The circle and the + signs follow the mouse, but no cloning is done. Also, with the Healing brush, it goes thru the motions (round paint brush), but does not leave the dark trace when the mouse is clicked and held. So when released, no healing is done. I have Photoshop Elements 6.0 on the same computer and it works properly. I have tried un-installing/re-installing; deactivate and repair,
