AutoCad :: Turning OFF Unreconciled Layers In MEP 2011
Jul 29, 2011The subject pretty much sums it up. How do I turn off the unreconciled layers thing? I don't want it on a per drawing basis, I want it to be off for good.

AutoCad :: Why Getting Unreconciled Layers
Jan 21, 2014I've got a big drawing with a ton of information in it. To create specific layouts, I xref it into another drawing, turn layers on/off, change colors, etc to highlight some specific part of the work that that particular drawing deals with.
Every time I reload the xref, ALL the xref'd layers show up as unreconciled. I know that I can ctrl+a and right click and reconcile them, but any changes I have previously made to those layers (color, etc.) default back to how the layers are displayed in the original.
LAYEREVAL is set to 0 in both drawings. New Layer Notification is UNchecked along with all sub-boxes) in the Layer Settings dialog. I've never had this happen before unless the layer truly was new in the original drawing - this time it's every layer every time. Also, LAYEREVALCTL and LAYERNOTIFY are set to 0 in both drawings, though I'm pretty sure these are the same system variables that are manipulated in the Layer Settings dialog.

Sep 24, 2013AutoCAD 2008 introduced layer notification, which is a feature that lets you know when new layers are added to your drawing or xrefs you have attached. My experience is that very few use this feature to better control. One reason may be that reconciling of the new layers are not as simple as it could be.
In a multidisciplinary environment this is very useful when you reference the second discipline models into your model. You will be notified when new layers are added to other discipline models. When AutoCAD notify you about new layers, the idea is then that you should check if this is relevant to your discipline.
The problem as I see it is that there is no easy way to verify the new layers. What if LAYWALK command had a list of layer filters so you could choose "Unreconciled new layer" filter. Then the LAYWALK command had been the tool to easily verify the new layers.

Sep 27, 2012I worked on X'ref DWG. After editing the referenced file and reloading the X'ref, i get a message saying ' Unreconciled New Layers'.
What could be the reason for this and how to rectify this?

AutoCad 3D :: Turning 2D Skateboard Into 3D?
Aug 3, 2011I entered a skateboard design contest and I have completed the 2D layout for the board, however, I want to go a step further and make it into a rough 3D illustration.

My idea is to extrude the outline of the board for so many units, then take the side view item to slice through the side of the extruded board outline. After that I plan to delete the unnecessary 3D material.
Essentially I want to get to this and then delete the leftovers, but be left with a 3D shell of the board:

How to turn off parametrics? In Paperspace, things keep on acquiring parametric constraints and then can't be moved without affecting other things. All too advanced for me.
Parametric>Constraint Settings>AutoConstrain>Clear All is set (which produces warning that "Geometric constraints will not be applied" - hopefully) and >Geometric>Infer geometric constraints is unchecked.
Yet still new contraints keep coming. And even when all elements (whole drawing) is selected and Parametric>Delete Constraints is clicked, some constraints remain.

Mar 19, 2013Why does this keep turning off? When I start up ACLT 2013, both boxes are checked. I just went to use the program again, didn't close the file even, and the boxes were unchecked, ie. nothing would highlight as I moved over them.

Jun 16, 2011I have put the Pan function on my middle mouse button. (If that wasn't already standard).
But every time I use shift to deselect and pan at the same time, it will rotate my 2D drawing in 3D.
Is there a way to turn that off? Without removing Pan from my middle mouse button.
I have turned off the View Cube, but that doesn't work.
I can of course try to take my finger off the shift key when i Pan, but I automatically do both commando's at the same time and it will be a pain to teach my self other ways.

Apr 10, 2013Last week I downloaded the Autodesk Design Review and for some reason I installed the DWG TrueView as well. Now, every time I open up a .dwg through explorer, True View overrules AutoCAD and thinks it has to be the one to open the file. Is there any way to turn this program off?
