I've got a big drawing with a ton of information in it. To create specific layouts, I xref it into another drawing, turn layers on/off, change colors, etc to highlight some specific part of the work that that particular drawing deals with.
Every time I reload the xref, ALL the xref'd layers show up as unreconciled. I know that I can ctrl+a and right click and reconcile them, but any changes I have previously made to those layers (color, etc.) default back to how the layers are displayed in the original.
LAYEREVAL is set to 0 in both drawings. New Layer Notification is UNchecked along with all sub-boxes) in the Layer Settings dialog. I've never had this happen before unless the layer truly was new in the original drawing - this time it's every layer every time. Also, LAYEREVALCTL and LAYERNOTIFY are set to 0 in both drawings, though I'm pretty sure these are the same system variables that are manipulated in the Layer Settings dialog.
AutoCAD 2008 introduced layer notification, which is a feature that lets you know when new layers are added to your drawing or xrefs you have attached. My experience is that very few use this feature to better control. One reason may be that reconciling of the new layers are not as simple as it could be.
In a multidisciplinary environment this is very useful when you reference the second discipline models into your model. You will be notified when new layers are added to other discipline models. When AutoCAD notify you about new layers, the idea is then that you should check if this is relevant to your discipline.
The problem as I see it is that there is no easy way to verify the new layers. What if LAYWALK command had a list of layer filters so you could choose "Unreconciled new layer" filter. Then the LAYWALK command had been the tool to easily verify the new layers.
The subject pretty much sums it up. How do I turn off the unreconciled layers thing? I don't want it on a per drawing basis, I want it to be off for good.
I'm using AutoCAD 2012 LT and have having problems inserting/updating/editing fields. This is the error that appears
"There are no registered modules to edit fields or demand loading is currently disabled". When I click OK the Field pop-up appears empty! (see attached)
The BEDIT command is also not working. It was all working up until a few days ago! I have downloaded the most recent Service Pack and it's still not working.
A user is having issues with plotting from AutoCAD LT, when trying attempting a normal plot to PDF the program crashes and he is forced to close it, also when changing the way he plots to plot to DWG PDF it starts to work correctly but brings up a fatal error message as below and attached:
FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Writing 0x0014 Exception at 778e224dh
When i try to convert my .dwg to a pdf on my laptop (second computer) i get an error message that the drawing might be password protected. it happens on all my autocad drawings
Every time I try and plot a drawing I get this error message:
' YOU CAN NOT USE MULTIPLE INSTANCES AT THE SAME TIME'. The program then freezes for a short while then returns a message saying plot canceled.
I am using Map 3D 2011. Although I did have a trial version of AutoCad 2012 I had no problems plotting on both versions up until recently I have made no changes to any printer configuration, plot files or styles. I removed 2012 after I started getting this message but still I am unable to plot.
i'm working with this dwg that has a block in it that says "cannot be exploded" every time i try to explode it. is there anyway i can still get this thing exploded?
I am getting an error message when I am trying to insert a schedule room tag. It does not matter which room tag out of the content browser I select, I get the same message. the message is as follow: "No symbol has been specified for the tag" All of the tags have worked up until today. Nothing has changed that I know of on our network and all of the paths seem to be pointing to the correct directories. We are currently using Architecture 2008. This problem is only coming up with these specific room tags.
I'm trying to export some blocks w/ object data to a shapefile. Error message is "Export did not succeed." ... very informative! I've also tried without attaching attributes, going to SDF, restarting the computer, repairing my installation. Nothing has worked. why Mapexport is broken now?
I'm getting lots of error messages when I bring up drawings in my 2009LT. Resource Manager Error. Cannot load resource only DLL. File not found, then many similar messages with AecResMgrenu.dLL.
Over and over, keep hitting OK till drawing loads. Not one specific file either.
Also: Unable to locate resource string. Resource Manager is not correctly installed.
Is there a way to fix without reloading 2009LT and having to reset all settings. Can that file AecResMgrenu be replaced. I have backup Program Files on CD.
Opening AutoCAD LT this morning no problem. Closed it down and then opened it up again about 10 to 15mins later and get this message (see attached pdf).
I'm using AutoCAD 2013 and I get a fatal error when it pulls up a print preview. If I have "Publish in Backgound" selected it proceeds to print. The error only appears to exisit when it pulling up the print preview. I have installed sp 1.1. I've repaired and reinstalled also. My AutoCAD 2012 is publishing fine.
" Error:: Installation of Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2005 requires Administrator Privileges. Please log in with administrator rights before attempting installation of Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2005. "
I have 2 computers on the network with the same issue (one use outlook 2003 and other use outlook 2007)
I am trying to convert my AutoCAD inventor 2013 file to a standard 2007 file by going "Save As" "Save Copy As" and then "Autocad DWG File" but i keep getting up a message "problems encountered while saving the document" How do i repair this?
Why isn't there a way to disable these messages? Or is there a way?
I cannot be bothered to fix the trivialities of my assembly, and each time I update anything, that's one more click. I don't care about the cross part associations, as the parts exist as they need to.
Messages such as:
Cross Part Association has failed
This is the reason why my departments at work are considering Solidworks - Inventor is simply clunky - and it doesn't matter if the assembly has errors because of the modeling "mistakes" I make in this regard - I just need to supress these messages and get the work done.
afterthought - I know how to break links and clear associativity - but I just need a way to supress the error message. This would be very ideal, as it takes a while to go and break links and clear adaptivity. Often times, these errors crop up as engineering makes change orders to the part and it just crops up after revisions.
if there is no such cell of "llg_arm_lgth", the error message appears as in attached file.
Right now I want to use "try...catch... end try" in the iLogic code. I can duplicate the first line of the warning message using VB.NET code, but I can not reach the second line. Does the iLogic expose this error message through some function? or which VB.NET code does this job?
The message reads "One or more objects in this drawing cannot be saved to the specified format. The operation was not completed and no file was created." I am using AutoCad Civil 3D 2011.
